Declan Shaw is a hot, ruthless, litigator. When he mentors a mock trial at his alma mater, there is one student who intrigues and excites him. They have a passionate encounter after class, and when they planned for more, they get interrupted, never expecting to see each other again. Hannah Dalton never mentioned her last name to Declan, not wanting him to know her family ran the top law firm in the state. She also didn't know that Declan was friends with her cousins, and they wanted him to work for their law firm. They were both surprised when she started interning at the firm and she would be working with their new attorney, Declan. Declan doesn't want to cross a line with the sexy woman who he couldn't get out of his mind. But the more time they work together, the harder it is to deny their fiery attraction. The push-pull between them is their foreplay and when they finally give in, they are explosive! Hannah makes him break all his rules, but he refuses to acknowledge his growing feelings. When others start to show interest in Hannah, will Declan fight for love, or will he lose her forever? I loved both Declan and Hannah, they challenged each other, and their relationship was so passionate, and hard fought. They were so perfect for each other and their chemistry was off the charts! I loved the whole Dalton family with their unwavering love and support and big brother protectiveness.
The narration by Savannah Peachwood, and Lee Samuels was fabulous! Samuels made my heart pound with every emotional, and passionate scene. I loved Savannah Peachwood as Hannah. She embodied Hannah perfectly, with the perfect balance of strength and vulnerability. Both voice actors really brought out all the heat, chemistry, and the whole spectrum of feels. I was completely consumed by this passionate and addictive story!

Rating: 4/5 - Spice: 2.5/ 5 - Book #4 of The Dalton Family

So I liked this book book more than books #2 and #3. I enjoyed Declan's major grumpiness, and enjoyed Hannah's character over all. I love the fast paced spice you get from thee books, and over all, while its a romance driven plot, I still found myself binging this book once I started it!

Brief Plot: Declan Shaw is new to the Dalton Firm, and had a one night stand with Hannah, his new intern, he has to re-establish boundaries. But when Hannah shows time and time again how qualified she is, and their chemistry can't be extinguished, they cross their 'no go lines' more than once. But can Declan allow himself to open up to Hannah? And be ready to tell his friends, and Hannah's cousins that he has real feelings for her?

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an eARC audiobook copy of The Intern, by Marni Mann, and narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Lee Samuels. This is my honest review!

I enjoyed this audiobook a lot. The narrators did a fantastic job with the story and the characters. I was ready for Declan and Hannah's story after listening to the previous books in this series. There were times when Declan's character had me wanting to shake him for his attitude, but I enjoyed him and Hannah in this story. I was glad she had a strong backbone. I think readers that enjoy some dirty talking and steamy scenes in a story will enjoy this one. This story was a fun and steamy romance with an attorney and a law student intern. I'm definitely looking forward to other books from this author.

Quick Summary: An explosive "are there any words" romance

My Review: The Intern by Marni Mann was hot as all get out. I don't think I have ANY words that could adequately describe just how sizzling that listening experience was. Seriously! It was insane.

My Final Say: When I finished this book, I realized that this book is part of a series. Are they all like this one? This romance was ⚡🔥💥. For those readers who like a little hot sauce and wasabi mixed with their reading experience, this story will definitely burn the taste buds right out of your mouth.

This grabbed my attention from the beginning and kept it until the end. It was fast-paced and full of banter.

Declan and Hannah meet when he acts as a mentor during mock trials in Hannah’s law class. Declan notices Hannah right away. After class ends, Declan is encouraged to join Hannah and her classmates to celebrate their success. After some heated glances and flirty touches, the two give into their chemistry in the alley behind the bar. Hannah is pulled away and the two don’t connect again that night, but neither forget the other for two very different reasons and they don’t see each other again until Hannah is offered an internship at her family’s law firm under Declan’s supervision.

There is a bit of miscommunication between the two since they both have a secret regarding their tryst that they are keeping from each other.

Declan is the definition of an alphahole!!! He may be one the grumpiest, growlest, jerkiest, alphahole that I’ve read in a while. He was actually kind of a douche. There were times when I wasn’t even sure how Hannah put up with him. He’s downright rude at times, but Hannah had no problem putting him in his place when she needed to.

Declan and Hannah’s relationship is full of hate, chemistry, and spice. Wait, this isn’t spicy, it’s smutty!!! Declan has a dirty mouth and knows how to push limits. Behind all the spice was plenty of plot.

This age-gap, enemies-to-lovers romance has a grumpy hero and a sweet and sassy heroine, and a scandalous office romance.

This is Book 4 in the Dalton Family series but can be read as a standalone.

I listened to the audiobook which was fantastic. The narrators brought Hannah and Declan's story to life.

This book has it all!! A broody, dirty talking, alpha MMC and a feisty, smart, independent FMC that brings him to his knees. The plot was great with a sexy meet up that ends in a misunderstanding and leads to plenty of drama through the rest of the book. And the spice…oh my goodness, the mouth on Declan!! It’s been a long time since I have read (or listened to) a story with main characters that have more chemistry than Declan and Hannah. As I was listening to these narrators, I actually found myself blushing and my heart pounding and that is saying a lot because I read and listen to spicy dark romance on the regular. Well done to both the author and the narrators!!

This is my review for this audiobook. The audio actor's voice brought the workalcoholic attorney that is sought out in the Los Angele county. A viper in the court house and in his office. His old alma matter is needing someone to teach first year graduate program. When he enters the classroom he notices Hannah immediately. The thought process of Decan of this student was morally free. I do have that fantasy of professor and student romance. But, Come on, these two are suppose to attonrey's who are to serve their client. Anyways, the story of these two is steamy. Decan is liking Hannah's sharp mind and can't help his own fantasy until they let lust talk. Until the day Hannah walks in the firm he works. Now the intern can she learn more from him? this is an ok story. I had to stop listening and remember this is just fantasy. And nothing morally corruprt was happening.

A great spicy read with a fun, enemies to lovers plot! I really enjoyed this one and look forward to reading the other books in this family.

I listened to the audiobook version and found it entertaining to listen to while I do chores. I honestly didn't think there was anything special about this book; for that, it gets 2.5 stars. The main reason that I am not giving it the best review is that I felt like the two love interests had absolutely no chemistry besides sexual. We really didn't get to know either of them on a personal level so we didn't get to see them connect on that level either. They kind of skipped the whole falling in love part and to me, that is the best part of romance novels.

Besides that, I thought there was a lot of potential for this to be a really good book. I enjoyed seeing how the author tied in the other stories and characters from the other books. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Intern by Marni Mann is my third book in the series. The novels are all a feel good escape reality and have fun feel for me. This one was the spiciest and almost bdsm. I enjoyed it to a point. I love a alpha male but this one was a little to much. I’m giving this a 3.5⭐️. I listened to this and thought the narrators Savannah Peachwood and Lee Samuels were excellent.
Thanks Dreamscape Media via Netgalley.

I didnt know what I was getting myself into when I requested an arc for this audiobook but boy am I happy I got it. I loved this book. The burn, the romance, the spice, it was everything I needed in a light reading where I wanted a change up in the books I listened to. As I write this, I have now listened to all of the other Dalton brothers books too and have The Bachelor preordered. This book hooked me on not only the series but on Mann's writing. She has a talent for having the plot short and sweet while developing the relationship in a way that seems natural. The narrators were incredible. I got chills when Declan’s “voice” came on. The pacing of the book worked well and it was exactly what I needed. I am looking forward to exploring Mann’s other books.

I freaking loved this book! Hannah and Declan are the perfect balance of off the chart steamy sexiness, innocence, fire and alpha male who doesn’t know how to deal with his this little spitfire! This book was absolutely incredible and the audiobook was just as good!

Book 4 of the Dalton Family series. Works as a standalone. Chronologically, much of this happens concurrently with [book:The Single Dad|58966029]. I would definitely read [book:The Single Dad|58966029] first, as it will cause minor spoilers.

Declan, top in his field, helps at some mock trials at his alma matter. There he meets Hannah. He is instantly attracted and tempted to do things he normally never does. They hook up. But Hannah has a secret- her last name is Dalton. She knows who Declan is- her cousin's best friend. But he does not know who she is. Both are surprised when he quits his job and moved to the Dalton's family firm. And when Hannah is assigned as his intern.

I don't have much to say about this one. The misogyny is very strong with Declan. Well, he doesn't hate women, but definitely feels superior. Of course, he seems to feel superior to everyone. It kept me from enjoying this more. That attitude is common with the alpha-male romance, but it seemed extreme with this one.

Savannah Peachwood and Lee Samuels narrate the audiobook. Both do an excellent job as always.

Looking forward to book 5. I have a feeling Camden will be paired with Hannah's roommate.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

As book 4 of this series it is truly perfect. With hints of past characters while perfectly capturing a budding romance. Declan is an ultimate grump (mostly to hide his feelings) and she’s the perfect sunshine (she literally bakes and helps everyone). Love them and this storyline. Very spicy 🌶️

The audiobook for this release is well done. The narration is great and small changes were made to the text compared to my ebook (maybe three things total). They were small things that helped it flow better. Sounded great at 2x speed and the dual narration was excellent.

This latest installment of the Dalton Family was a pretty good read. In this installment of the series we get Hanna and Declan's story. Told from a dual POV, this was and angsty, somewhat forbidden love type read where the chemistry between the characters was off the charts.

In this book we learn more about Hanna, who we met in previous book of this series. Her story takes place at the same time as the previous story in this series (Ford's book) and continues after that book. It takes us through the push pull of her interactions with her mentor Declan while fighting her attraction.

Declan, very successful attorney and friend of Hanna's cousins whom employ him at their law firm. He is a known playboy with no desire to settle down but is drawn to Hanna like a moth to a flame. He fights his attraction to her tooth an nail while attempting to mentor her until he can fight no more and their chemistry explodes.

This was a pretty good read that I did enjoy but at times I felt the story did drag. In the end, I would recommend to others.

Well this book just smacked me with the spice immediately. I was unprepared for a vivid scene at about the 5% mark but I’m not complaining about it.

I knew this was a romance and it was going to be spicy going in. The synopsis and cover made it pretty clear. But shoo right away on an audio - I was like oh so we’re just jumping right in? Awesome. Good to know.

So yeah - it’s spicy from the start. No complaints.

I received the audio through NetGalley. It’s told through dual POV and uses two narrators to do it. Both do a fantastic job with bringing the characters to life and it made the story that much better. Both narrators handled the spicy scenes with perfection - and the changing between narrators in the middle of a scene (aka a chapter change/POV switch) didn’t change anything with the scene except the voice. I can’t say I’ve listened to a book that allowed it to happen that seamlessly.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Declan and Hannah meet in a trial advocacy course at USC law school. Declan is the wealthy, successful trial lawyer visiting the school to grace the course with his presence and advice as he does once every semester and Hannah is a beautiful, gifted law student that catches his attention immediately. Hannah also happens to be Hannah Dalton, of the big Dalton law firm that Declan was just hired at. On Declan’s first day, he finds out he’ll have a legal intern for one semester… who happens to be none other than Hannah herself. A quick one night hookup turns into a spicy secret workplace romance told from both Hannah and Declan’s points of view. This is obviously also an age gap romance.

I would have enjoyed Hannah and the actual story more if Hannah wasn’t so shy and mousy around Declan and just overall so anxious to succeed and be a super people pleaser at all costs. I realize that’s exactly what a lot of law students are like (being a lawyer myself which is what made this book appealing), but I wish she was more confident and acted like the super smart and pretty bada** she is. It would make the story seem a little less predatory and manipulative. Also, more sexy for sure.

This is my first Marni Mann read and also it follows this is my first read in this series but it, like all others I now know, can be read as a standalone.

With the understanding that I was listening to this on 2.5x speed, I did not enjoy the male narrator for this audiobook, he sounded like he belonged in a spicy dark fantasy romance novel instead and wasn’t very great at sounding like a female when roleplaying Hannah. However, I did enjoy the female narrator.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Marni for an audiobook download of this title in exchange for an honest review!

i recevied a advanced audiobook. it started out great, and then....and then it just didnt do it for me. I love a good spicy story... but it was almost cheesy and too Alpha male.... Again, sometimes its good to have these books but for what ever reason I was not in the mood for this type of book. i feel awful so i will try another book by this author in a different mindset or another time.
3 stars

I found myself skimming a lot of this. There was just too much lying and miscommunication. I’m not a fan of that in books.

Also not crazy about alpha characters. This guy needs to get over himself.

The spicy scenes were very hot and the narrators were good.
