Nowhere to Land is so much fun! It’s a combination of an airplane-in-trouble thriller with the movie The Thing. I read the book in one day while traveling. Reading it on a plane made it even more exciting. I stayed up late to finish it. I look forward to Teretha Houston’s future books.

I am a library associate and received an advance copy from #NetGalley.

I just could not enjoy this one. It felt like the plot to a low budget, cheesy SciFi channel movie.
The writing and characters felt flat with awkward dialogue and inner monologue.
Normally I love a good creature feature, but this one just wasn’t it.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Yorkinton for a copy.

Whip Smart..
A battle for survival in the skies in this non stop, action packed suspense. This plane has turned deadly - with nowhere to run, or land, will they get out alive? A cast of credible and well crafted characters populate a pacy, edgy and tension fuelled plot with a whip smart narrative as twists and turns aplenty are thrown into play. Fast and furious, fun and feisty.

When I say INTENSE, this is it!

WOW! From the beginning to the very end, my heart was stuck in my throat!
If you want an intense, ,horrific sci-fi journey, well then this is just the novel for you!

I can imagine this in theaters at some point! There is so much detail that it would be a definite hit.

Thank you to @NetGalley and @Yorkinton for this amazing, different ARC and allowing me to read and review it. My heart is still racing!

This book had a very creative story line, fast paced action, always a surprise with lots of direction changes, I found I was reading at a breakneck pace to get to the next bit of the action. Machine gun cliches in ever paragraph, good character development and some touching scenes, the book had it all, I found the first half of the book not as entertaining as the second. This is not a read for the faint hearted!

I was really intrigued by the blurb for this book and I knew that it was a book that would have plenty packed in after I read the first few pages.

I read the book over a couple of nights, having read the initial 150 pages in one sitting, I think I would have carried on if it wasn’t for needing to sleep as I had to drive to Liverpool for work the next morning!

I thought that the characters were excellent, they worked really well together, I liked the mix of personalities and the different levels of interaction.

The book was set at a fast pace, and I really enjoyed that and I do think that it worked really well with the story to keep me hooked.

The book had danger, action, shocks and surprises and a little bit of a romantic undertone too. It is 5 stars from me for this one, it was a really addictive thriller with a lot of action and a well crafted plot, it is a book like you have probably never read before – very highly recommended

Honestly, I selected this book because of the front cover. My first thought was "oh boy, a thriller in the sky where there's no way out!" Once I began to read it, I was hooked. Suspense was intense! Terrifying and chilling to the point where I didn't want to put the book down and it affected my sleep!

Teretha Houston really pushed all the buttons of horror, suspense, and action (a lot of action). There were moments when I thought about the movie, Aliens especially with the little girl, Rona! The characters were all well-defined so there wasn't a problem getting to know them.

This book is worth reading! Be prepared to lose sleep! Be prepared to be terrified. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Houston's books!

Thank you #NetGalley for providing me with AC of this book!

Nowhere to Land was a very action packed thriller with a sci-fi twist that definitely left my heartbeat elevated through the whole thing. However much I liked the thrill, it was full of flaws.

First, you definitely needed a prior knowledge of piloting and aircrafts to understand some of it. I was lost at some points, completely unable to visualize what was happening because I didn’t know the terminology.

Speaking of not being able to visualize things… the way action scenes were described made it very hard to picture what was happening and where characters were. One minute a character is over here, the next minute they’re over there, my mind was whirling!

Maybe it’s because I prefer realistic fiction, but I really didn’t enjoy the sci-fi aspect of the book. I feel the synopsis of the book was misleading in that it didn’t really give away that there would be a horrible monster aspect that terrorized the characters. Fans of Jurassic park or Frankenstein would enjoy this book, but personally I didn’t enjoy the sci-fi element.

The second half of this book was FAR better than the first half. I almost DNFed the book based on the first half, but ultimately I am glad I didn’t.

Okay, that’s a lot of negative. This book did have me on the edge of my seat many times (almost the whole second half) and it was very well researched. The characters had very unique personalities and you could FEEL their desire to live. Goosebumps!

I didn’t hate this book at all, but I also didn’t love it. I don’t recommend it if you prefer realistic fiction, but if you want a wild ride, this book is for you.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this!

Story:
A pilot and an air marshal struggle against impossible odds to save passengers above the Atlantic Ocean when their crippled plane turns into a flying death trap.

Quentin Kane hasn’t been a detective for years, but when a mysterious woman asks the air marshal to help bring down a powerful, international organization, he gives in. The next morning, he wakes up with no memory of the woman or the odd wooden box she gave him.

Eden Stone’s first day as a Boeing 747 pilot quickly devolves into terror as increasingly more horrifying events plague her transatlantic trip. Something or someone is turning every inch of the aircraft into a deadly weapon.

Trapped thousands of miles from land, the passengers and crew have nowhere to run, nowhere to land, and they’re running out of sky.

Opinion:
Realy enjoed this one. Recomended.

Thank you for the opportunity to preview Nowhere to Land.
This is a fun read with action and suspense. O yea and maybe a monster on board a plane.
I read it in a day and if you like books like this, and I do, it was pretty good.
3.5 stars

This book was entertaining. Full stop. Despite my eye rolls and frequent cringes from the dialogue, I wanted to keep reading. It was action packed (almost too much so for me) but felt very poorly executed. There were several storylines that were not well flushed out, one that was abandoned completely. If you’re looking for an page turner, this one is for you. If you’re looking for well executed plot/storylines/characters, you’ll want to keep looking.

This is a roller coaster of a read.

The characters are well developed and the tension is kept up until the last page.

Although far fetched this is one I could not put down.

Lots of action, continually-building tension, twists and turns, as well as well-developed characters make for a great story and an eager reader.

An action thriller set on a plane with some science fiction elements. The novel was not to my liking but other readers will enjoy it.

“Nowhere to Land” is a thriller by Teretha Houston. I could see this book being an extremely interesting movie. There’s build-up, there’s drama, there’s suspense, there’s “what the heck really is in the hold” tension. Monsters, however, aren’t exactly my cup of tea, so I struggled a bit with those scenes. The writing was engaging and kept my attention … when the monster wasn’t taking center stage, that is. Well done book.

I want to thank Teretha Houston and Yorkinton for allowing me to read a copy of this. This book was fast paced and action packed. Absolutely not lacking action. I’m not usually one to gravitate towards these types of Sci-Fis but this one kept me engaged from the very first pages. I feel like I was constantly riding an adrenaline train. Definitely a great book if you’re wanting something with action and some great character roles. I gave the book three stars, there were a few times I felt like action and climatic problems were thrown in where I almost laughed out loud because it was so out of this world or I felt like maybe too many ideas wanted to be used. Overall it was a great book and definitely would recommend to anyone who wants a book to draw them in right from the beginning and bring the action.

I have one question…when is the movie coming out? Seriously, there are some books when you read them where you can absolutely picture them as movies. Teretha Houston’s Nowhere To Land is just such a book. The phrase edges your seat thrill ride fits perfectly. Trapped at 37,000 feet with nowhere to run from whatever is happening/whatever is loose aboard their plane, this is a seriously intense adventure. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Houston comes out with next. Thanks so much to Yorkinton and NetGalley for the chance to read and review an ARC of Nowhere to Land.

Nowhere to Land by Teretha Houston was a very intriguing sci-fi/thriller.
I seen that this is going to be turned into a movie and one I'll definitely gladly watch.
The suspenseful writing and plot twists made for a great read.
The twists will keep you on your toes.
An utterly unpredictable story with characters that grabbed me and kept me turning the pages.
This is a unique story that will keep you guessing the whole way through.

If you felt that the Sharknado movies were too high-brow, then this may be the book for you. I can only surmise that the author has a collection of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Segal movies with all that annoying talkiness and story building cut out in favor of just the punching and kicking and explosions. That, or she looked at bad reviews for Snakes on a Plane and thought, "Hold my beer." I will admit that 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 of the action was OK, but it went on for way too long and the rest of the writing was just awful. Fans of old Roger Corman and made for Syfy films may get a kick out of this, but I did not.

This book follows an airline marshal and a pilot as they board a transatlantic flight. The flight becomes one of nightmares when a creature is found on board. I was on the edge of my seat the entire book and it kept my attention from the beginning.
