This was a lovely, thoughtful read. Set in the Lake District I enjoyed this book very much. The characters were very likeable and I warmed to them so quickly. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book and give an honest review.

A wonderfully romantic, uplifting story that ebbs and flows through misunderstandings, loss, happiness and weddings. I loved the characters and their personalities. This book is a winner for me.

A bit slow in the beginning. Honestly I had a hard time getting into history. But after a few pages, I was in.

I really like Lizzie. Her past is different from others books. She has commitments issues because of what happened to her parents (they lost their business). The fact that she wants to be successful and she protects her heart is sad. She protects herself because of what happened.

I’m a little but disappointed that the author didn’t explore much what happened in the past between Lizzie and Cal.

I love the passage where Cal gives her object back. I won’t say what it is. This scene is absolutely beautiful and well written.

The epilogue was beautiful too.

I will read more books of the author.

Thank you netgalley for the book.

What a lovely book! ‘Wedding days at Halesmere House’ is the second book in the Lake series, and although I haven’t read the first book, I definitely will! This book can be read as a stand alone. It is the story of Cal and Lizzie. Lizzie is a photographer and event planner. When her best friend Gemma decides on Halesmere House for her wedding venue, Lizzie knows she has to face some painful memories from when she lived there and got her heart broken by Cal. At Halesmere, she tries to block all the memories but is caught off guard when she suddenly bumps into… Cal! He now lives in Halesmere so at first she tries to avoid him but slowly faces their past and also her feelings. But she has trust and commitment issues which she has to overcome…
I enjoyed reading this book a lot! It is beautifully written, the author clearly has a knack for writing and what I loved, is that she paints a beautiful picture of lovely Cumbria. While reading you imagine yourself being there, smell the air, hear the water streams, and feel the wind on your face. After reading this book you want to book a holiday there, to go hiking and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Cal is a free spirit, a gorgeous man but troubled by the fact that he didn’t know who his father was. Lizzie has commitment issues after their parents lost their business and their home, and she has convinced herself she needs to be successful in her career and always guard her heart from heartbreak. So when someone hurts her, she shuts him out. So she finds it very difficult to let people in. With Cal, I was surprised that they made up so quickly, and that she took responsibility for her part in what went wrong when they were young. I would have liked to see them talk more about it, and that topic being explored a bit more. But it was quickly solved. Okay, but when an issue arises later on, she cannot act the same way, and can’t get over it as quickly as before, which surprised me. You either have trouble looking in the mirror and accept you are partly to blame and learn from it and do better next time, or you don’t. So it was a bit puzzling to me; when you spotted a flaw in your character or actions, you either recognize it and deal with it, or you have no clue and make the same mistake over again. In this case it seemed Lizzie at first learned from the past but later on she made the same mistake over again.
And kudos to the author for not writing graphic sex scenes! She let’s that over to your own imagination, which only adds to the story because the story focusses on THE STORY, which gives them more respect and depth and meaning and everything you want. Loved it!
The secondary characters are lovely and as you want them to be! I won’t spoil too much about them but they’re great and fun.
I loved the epilogue, I even wished there was a second epilogue to find out what happened next. This book is that good!
A heartwarming, lovely feel good story in tranquil surroundings. I can highly recommend anyone buying and reading this book and I will definitely read more books by this author!
I received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and I am grateful for this opportunity. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Suzanne Snow writes contemporary romantic and uplifting fiction, with a strong sense of setting and community connecting the lives of all the characters. She is inspired by a00 'love0 of landscape, romantics with real life' mainly because her job background is in horticulture.

Lizzie Martin is a wedding planner and it just so happens
her best friends, Gemma, is getting married 💑 . But there are troubles from the beginning. In 2020 her wedding obviously got cancelled and then the second date the venue burns 🔥 down! 'This particular event might just mean the unhappiest ending' ever!

Luckily a space opens up at halesmere house which is part of the artist district, but that's in the Lake District, Cumbria, we're the girls we're 'born and bred'! Both Gemma and Lizzie grew up in the grounds of the house, living in cottages a their parents worked there.
Lizziy had her heart broken 💔 at halesmere house, by her first love, twelve years ago.

Very detailed descriptions of Cal Ryan, as in all of Snows❄ novels. He is now a sort after black Smith with own studio at halesmere house.
He is also happens to be Lizzie's first love ❤ We are then bombarded with information about Cal and Lizzie, which is great as it adds depth to the novel.
Cal very troubled upbringing with Foster care.
She captured everything on her camra 📷. On his 19th birthday 🎂 he tell Lizzie that he wants her to travel to New Zealand 🇳🇿 with him. But she says no, but they declarer their love ❤ to each other, but says their lives are to do different..

The characters list in this book continues, we meet Stan and Pearl.
The new ones of house, three children Max, Lilley and Arlo who keep some animals at halesmere house.
More description of the 'town and village's beyond the besyond'.

'His eyes were telling her he knew it and what he wanted what it and she understood him too well too well to mistake that'. Cal tells Lizzie apologies for leaving her twelves ago. 'No good looking back ' states Cal.
Lizzie and Cal tell each other how incredible the were.

Lizzie flat hunting but Ella offer her a flat at halesmere house. Ella pregnant 'she and Max were thrilled'.
She was going to sell her photography business. But worried as she was rapidly approaching 30 and was starting out like a student would.
Lizzie tells Gemma ' I'm looking forward to making a home at Halesmere again' even though the man that broke here heart ❤ will be there. A doesn't lie was waiting for here.
Lizzie thinks 'no matter how hard she'd tried 'she could imagine herself back there with him, skin on skin'.

Beginnings of her new routine. Gain new wedding planing bookings.
Thee couple are expecting as carm and relaxing day so 'I can't dragged them here before breakfast at silly o'clock', Cal reply 'it will be worth, I promise
It's going to be a perfect day'.

Lots of working coming in for Lizzie's wedding planing business.
She also takes photos for Cals locksmith business and he then links her in the posts and it drums up more business for both of them.
Gemma's wedding is fast approaching can Lizzie get revenge
all done on time of will her ex boyfriend be to much of a distraction?

This novel is emotional roller-coaster 🎢 and I liked how it gave past ad present day information, I also enjoyed chapter length and detailed discussion of each new chatters in this novel. I can see this fitting well, with other Haslemere house series.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down. It felt so good to be back in the lakes, and the characters.

The story is about Lizzie and Cal, as well as the other characters’ lives from the last book.

Such a lovely read and the setting, descriptions made me wish I was there.

Eagerly await book three.

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this so much that I read it in 2 days. Gemma's wedding venue has cancelled her special day with only a few weeks notice. Lizzie her best friend and bridesmaid is a wedding and event planner and trying to find a new venue. Gemma's Mum suggests Halesmere House, a place near where the girls grew up, for the reception following a service at the local church. Gemma has booked a rewilding long weekend break for them and Bea the other bridesmaid so they can make the arrangements. Who should be their guide for this experience but Cal the guy who broke Lizzie's heart here 12 years ago by leaving without a goodbye. You discover what the pair have done with their lives during that time. Many friends are still involved working at Halesmere and I would thoroughly recommend reading this book.

Normally I wou;ldn't start a review with awww but seriously, awww. I absoutely love Lizzie and Cal's story, and is the perfect follow up second book in this gorgeous series. Suzanne is quickly becoming another must-read author as she tells the story of two teenagers who fell in love. If there was one way I could describe these two would be starcrossed lovers. They come from two totally different worlds.

Lizzie is the youngest of three children who grew up at Halesmere House before her family lost the house. Moving in with Gemma, her best friend forever, she meets Cal Ryan, a young Irish man who is only in Cumbria to try and trace his father. After a huge argument, he runs away and we're fasted forward twelve years into the future. Her best friend has been trying to marry her fiance and childhood sweetheart twice now, so when they are unexpectedly told about Halesmere as a wedding venue, Lizzie doesn't want anything to do with it.

Well I think you can guess what happens: Lizzie bumps into Cal, who has returned to Cumbria - a man changed, with a history that no one could have guess he would write. I loved these two, and why I was like really are they going there, by the end of the book you can't but route for them to get together. The end of the book has a series awww about it and I can't wait for book three.

Although saying that Lizzie can be pretty annoying at times. She is constantly jumping to conclusions, but looking back I can't really blame her with the history that they have. I promise you though, that you will want to read Lizzie and Cal's story and find out what is happening with Ellla, Max and those adorable children Lily and Arlo.

This is the second book in the series but you can still read it as a stand alone. I did this and really enjoyed it as a feel good romance. It embraced the fact that weddings had been cancelled postponed and rearranged because of Lockdown and Covid. I thought it was good for a fiction book to include this rather than avoid the subject. A great read and I'd highly recommend it.

Didn't love this one. I felt a lot that was written was unnecessary and the storyline had the potential to be stronger.

Gosh this was good. Set in Cumbria . You have a cancelled wedding and when the three friends go to visit a place from their childhood all sorts of things happen. Including old love, founding family. Walks in the wild. It was a great read. I loved it

I enjoyed this story about love getting a second chance. Overall a fun story with good characters. I found Lizzie irritating at first, blaming Cal when I think he behaved badly but understandably. But she grows during the book and that includes owning her actions as well.

Having loved the first book in the love in the lakes series snowfall over halesmere house I was looking forward to this one and it didn’t disappoint. This was a beautiful escapism read and had me hooked from the first page and read it in practically one sitting. Was lovely to be back in the lakes and back in the surrounding of halesmere house for the telling of Lizzie and cals story and getting to know more about the lives of the characters from the previous book.

This was a heartwarming read with fabulous characters and fabulous descriptions of the setting and the emotions in this book leapt out of the page.

I am already eagerly anticipating book three in this series.

Returning to Cumbria and Halsemere House was again another wonderful experience. Loved to read of the characters that we’ve previously met and some new ones now added into the mix.
Lizzie and Cal have history and when they meet again by chance it’s explosive. Extremely well written a story that takes us from the past to the present.
Hoping there will be more in the series and looking forward to returning and catching up with the characters who have become friends.

Wedding Days at Halesmere House is the second book in the Love in the Lakes series.
We are back at Halesmere House in beautiful Cumbria with its beautiful gardens, the best hiking trails and unforgettable scenery for your photographs.
After a fire leaves the original venue unusable, events planner and maid-of-honour Lizzie Martin is thrilled her best friend Gemma has chosen Halesmere House as her wedding place. With the charming community in full support and guests coming and going, Halesmere House has really taken off as the happening place for events.
Lizzie is thrilled for her friend Gemma and her upcoming nuptials, but she has painful memories of a lost love a lifetime ago it seems. When she was eighteen, she fell for Cal a bartender at an event at Halesmere House. She thought their love would last a lifetime, but he disappeared just leaving behind his claddagh ring for her with no explanation or apology. She's never forgotten or forgiven and is devastated to see him again after all this time at the Lake District artists’ residence.
If only those old feelings hadn't cropped up again. Will she forgive and forget allowing him to explain?
Cal has never felt worthy of Lizzie and her family, a drifter and having no family to call his own how can he feel worthy of Lizzie's loving family? Looking for his family is his biggest dream and why he's back in the area. Will he get his happily ever after with Lizzie or find what his heart been yearning for? Warm, realistic, a true picker upper book. You won't want to miss this dose of happiness.
