3.75 stars- rounding up to 4 stars for Goodreads

A thriller/mystery book set in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and told through the eyes of an FBI agent and Denver PD detective. FBI agent Kendall Beck and PD detective Adam Taylor work alongside each other to solve parallel cases of a missing girl found during a convenient store robbery turned homicide and the disappearance of Detective Adam’s niece, Frankie after one of her hockey games. Each chapter leads to new discovers leading FBI agent Beck and Detected Taylor closer to the truth.

This book had twists and turns right from the start and as the 2 lead characters uncover more information about the 2 cases there’s more and more turns in uncovering the truth. It grabbed my attention and every chapter left me hanging so I had to read more. Every Missing Girl gave me CSI type vibes so if those TV show are your jam then you definitely need to pick up this book. All of the characters were likable and the investigation having a person dynamic for Detective Taylor gave this story an interesting twist. There was some “behind the scenes” parts (back at the police station chat) that didn’t grab my attention as much and there was some clues in the investigation that were uncovered but then dropped that I thought were important, but overall I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend to anyone who love CSI type thrillers or looking to branch out of there typical genre.

I received an ARC of this book from Crooked Lane Books via NetGalley in exchange for my honest feedback. I didn't realize this was 2nd in a series. I normally hate coming into a series without reading the first book. Luckily, this did function as a standalone, although I would have preferred to start at the beginning. I felt as though I missed some of the nuances in character relationships that must have been developed in book one. Also, this book does talk quite a lot about an important event from book one - you definitely can't go backwards in the series as you will have spoilers.

I liked these characters a lot. Everyone seemed real, from sassy Kendall, to Frankie's worried relatives, even to an aunt who didn't like her nephew hooking up in the basement! I also enjoyed the dialogue and the interactions between characters. On the negative side, I think there were entirely too many characters, and if I was picking up again after a day or two without reading, I definitely got confused who was who. Also, I did not like the ending. I know this is a personal preference and have seem other reviews raving about the ending - it just was not the outcome I would have preferred.

I do think Leanne Kale Sparks is quite talented and I would happily read more of her books.

This is my first novel by Leanne Sparks. I did not do any research as I usually do on the author. I did enjoy this title. It was a little slow for me in the beginning, but I am so glad I stuck with it!.

3 starts of out 5!

2 ☆ | before i begin, thank u to netgalley and crooked lane books for giving me an arc!! very grateful 💗

but now. not great. not a great book 🙁🙁. one star for the banter because it did make me giggle in some parts. half a star for the ending bc i kind of wasnt expecting it. and another half just because, just like the book. i felt like so much of it was just for the nypd (i know its not in new york but it felt like it was trying to give b99 vibes), detective, dark humor vibe. like no substance. but everything else was also just so convoluted?? like so much was happening, but nothing at all. the conflict also seemed dumb and i thought we were over the ‘im not telling you think to help this case even though it’ll make me look suspicious’ trope.

Kendall Beck is back. When a young kidnapping victim is recovered after a convenience store robbery, she teams up with Detective Adam Taylor to solve the case. When Adam’s niece goes missing after her hockey game, the stakes are raised. As the clock ticks, Adam and Kendal race to connect the cases and work to bring his niece home.

A sit down and devour in one sitting thriller. Kendall Beck and Adam Taylor are the partners that we all love to read about. This one kept me on my toes the whole time.

Thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the ARC in exchange for a fair review.

A well written story with lots going on.
Every Missing Girl is book number two in the Kendall Beck series. This can be read as a standalone with no issue.
Two intertwining cases…..full of suspenseful moments.
A must read for thriller lovers.
Looking forward to the next book in the series!
Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I just finished “Every Missing Girl” by Leanne Kale Sparks. It’s about and FBI Agent and a police detective investigating the disappearance of many young girls; including the detectives niece. This story was so captivating and every plot twist was unique but also believable. I really like that I was able to read this as a stand-alone and still understand the partnership and dynamic. I felt like Kendall was an actual believable strong female character and that none of the characters were perfect unrealistic beings. I felt like at every turn we were getting new and exciting information with the answers just out of reach. I can’t believe how the story turned out.

This was a suspenseful thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat! I had not previously read any of the Kendall Beck series but will definitely be reading more. I do think the situation with the convenience store was left a little open and had hoped for more of a resolution/explanation there. But overall I liked this.

I love that there are multiple crimes and investigations taking place and the reader is left wondering how they’re connected. I did think this one had a little less character development and back story than the first book. It was more solely focused on the investigation. I hope there are more books in the series so we can learn more about the characters. This book had great reveals and an open ending. I will definitely read the next book if there is one. I really like the characters, writing and story lines this author has created.

I really enjoyed this book!
It takes you along on a mystery adventure as Kendall and Adam begin a search to find a supposed-kidnapper. It gets even more exciting when his neice goes missing.
The story line flows smooth and realistic, which is what I like when I pick up this type of book.
Kendall and Adam are both written well and believable, I found myself immediately relating to Kendall, and my fondess growing for Adam, who even seems to slightly worship his brother's relationship.
The ending was great! Not too many distracting twists, turns and surprises!
Overall a great mystery read, and I will look out for more from this author.

Every Missing Girl by Leanne Kale Sparks is an...interesting novel. It follows an FBI Agent (who, truthfully, is a total badass) and a Detective in Denver, CO. It's technically the second in the series, though the author says they can be read as standalone. While I don't feel that I missed anything by not reading the first, I also have zero need to go back and read the first because I got all the details in Every Missing Girl.

The story was good, and it kept me engaged. How it all came together in the end was very good. However, the ending did feel rushed or maybe "blunt" is a better word for it.

Additionally, the author used the term "sh*t eating grin" four times in this novel, three times in close succession. It was too many times, and actually took away from the novel.

FBI agent Kendall teams up with Denver Detective Adam working a robbery, turned double homicide. Furthermore, a missing girl was found to be at the scene. Later that night, the pair are at Adam’s nieces hockey game, when his niece Frankie goes missing after the game.

This story was fast paced and kept me guessing. There were a couple things that bugged me… for example, how was Adam so involved in his family member’s case? And I wish we had a POV from Frankie, maybe in the Epilogue. I did genuinely like all the characters and felt they were well developed. The twists won me over in the end. I love when I don’t see something coming and/or can’t predict the ending. This was a wild ride & I recommend putting it on your TBR list!

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review! I posted the same on Goodreads.

Every Missing Girl takes you on a journey in FBI Agent Kendall Becks viewpoint, who is actively between two investigations: one that includes a double homicide and a potential kidnapping, and another that includes her oldest friend's niece Frankie going missing. Investigations that will reveal secrets that NOBODY was expecting. Investigations that will end up twirling together to form a jaw dropping end that will make you audibly gasp! (like me)

I absolutely loved Sparks' writing of Kendall's character, even without reading the first book in the Kendall Beck series, I felt like you knew who she was and even got a glimpse into her past trauma with her best friend's untimely death. Kendall is another one of those STRONG female characters that I can't rave enough about! She is gritty when she needs to be, and especially in her field, but she has a softness about her that absolutely shines through and you just know she ended up in the exact line of work the world needed her to be in. I don't know that Adam could have made it through this without her, and even though he clearly SHOULD NOT have been included in his niece's investigation-I love how much she thought of him during the process.

Without mentioning too much and giving away potential spoilers, my heart literally broke for Poppy. Unfortunately, I pre-judged her and ended up being completely wrong. Thank you Leanne Sparks for that, I truly love when books prove me wrong!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and plan to follow along the Kendall Beck series now. I would encourage anyone who loves the thriller/mystery genre to look into this book and this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the digital advance copy of this book.

This is book number 2 in the Beck series, it was great as a stand-alone as well. However I am excited to read the first book because I enjoyed this one a lot! Two separate plots that come together at the end and I did not see it ending the way it did! Amazing work by Leanne with her amazing talents!

Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for my ARC!

The suspense was heavy and the leads were many in this mystery/thriller novel! I had my suspicions, but was never given too much info that would allow me to crack the code early on.

I loved having dual POVs from Adam and Kendall as they both unraveled details on the cases at hand - a double homicide and a string of missing girls.

The ending saddened me a bit, but I suppose not everything can end in a sunshine-y way! I respected that the author allowed for the darkness of a thriller novel to stay present. I feel like many novels will try to end on an especially high note. The ending for Every Missing Girl was realistic.

I received this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review. I was surprised by this one. I felt like there were lots of plots that didn’t have anything to do with the original investigation. I felt like it took away from the original main plot. I was also surprised by the ending, I never would have expected it not to end happily.

Really a 3.5! This book was good. I loved the 2 different storylines that tied in together. The end killed me. There were a lot of grammatical errors that kept pulling me from the book, and the storyline was hard to follow at some points. Still a good, quick mysterious read!

Thank you crooked lane books, NetGalley and Leanne Kale Sparks for allowing me to read an advanced readers copy of “Every Missing girl,” due to be published February 7th 2023. This is book number 2 of The Kendall Beck series.

Summary:
FBI special agent Kendall Beck teams up with local Denver Police Departments detective Adam Taylor to take on two very troubling cases. One was a double homicide in a local convience store that had ties with a sex trafficking ring and the disappearance of Adams niece Frankie.

All I can say is wow ! I have never read a book so fast in my life like I couldn’t finish fast enough and the ending was crazy and I didn’t see that coming at all. The writing the phenomenal and such a fast paced story. I never read the first book in the series so I thought I’d have trouble following along but in all reality the background was mentioned and drew me in instantly.

I highly recommend reading this series.

First of all, thank you to Crooked Lane Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't realize this was book two of the series, however I had no problem reading as a standalone. The book had an excellent premise with a not so great execution. Two different crimes have happened and the two main investigators are piecing together how they are connected. A lot happens and sometimes it was difficult for me to keep track of all the characters. Most of the people mentioned as suspects in both crimes appear to be lying about every single thing and Adam and Kendall are slow on the uptake with all of those things but eventually and often coincidentally figure them all out.

A lot of this book was hard for me to read because the topic of child sex trafficking is difficult for me to read about even in fiction. Secondly a lot of the investigations seems implausible. For example, a cop is working on his own nieces kidnapping. And she's kidnapped from a hockey game where he and an FBI agent specializing in abducted children are watching from the stands. Later in the book they locate a rink manager who is dealing drugs to children and just happen to walk in on his during a drug deal. Same with the coach selling weed to children...they go to his house to find him counting money and drugs in his back yard?

The ending was also a little rough. I didn't expect a happy ending but thought it might turn out as a happy ending because all of these other happy coincidences were occurring throughout the book. Sadly that wasn't the case.
Three stars because I was entertained, but disappointed in the overall writing qualities and things I found very unrealistic in the story itself.
