Another great book in this series! An inspirational brief biography about the legendary Formula One race driver, Lewis Hamilton. I loved learning about his childhood, his determination, and focus he brought to racing and breaking down barriers.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

Honestly I love these books!

This has a lot of information on Lewis Hamilton that I already knew but I really like F1.

The illustrations are fantastic and this book would be an inspiration to anyone who wants to start racing at a young age.

Thanks to netgalley for the arc of this book! Can't wait to read more in the series

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this for review!

I love Lewis, and this was a lovely little book about his career and life so far. It’s targeted at children so short and sweet (which is why I gave it just 3 stars), but a great addition to any bookshelf with its encouraging tone and beautiful illustrations.

Description, taken from Netgalley:
Little Lewis's childhood was filled with cars, motorcycles and watching Formula One with his dad. On his fifth birthday, he received a remote-controlled racing car and joined a local club. It was hard being the only black child there, but he listened to his dad's words: 'Let your results speak for you.' His hobby led him to go-kart racing, and at the age of 10 he became the youngest ever winner of the British cadet go-karting competition. Shortly after, he began training as a racing driving with McLaren, rising through the ranks to compete at Formula One's Grand Prix.

Well, I am not a big Fan of Motor Sports or Car Racing, because it is boring as hell =)) I rather play car racing on a console thank watching it, but anyway!!! Lewis Hamilton is a legend and although I am not a F1 Fan, I would love to gift this book to someone who is a fan of it - because all Little People Books are great and Fun to read. Nice illustrated and easy to read - and if you collect them, great Covers =) Awesome Series

Another fabulous instalment in the "Little People, Big Dreams" series, this time about Formula 1 icon Sir Lewis Hamilton.

I loved how the author detailed Lewis' rise from nothing to the top, and made sure to detail his work for inclusion and acceptance, perfectly aimed at the target market of children.

Wonderful illustrations as usual.

This book shows a great example of perseverance and overcoming hurdles. Hamilton is someone so many children will look up to and is a great addition to this series. I especially loved how his activism was incorporated. This is definitely one of my favourites from the series so far. The illustrations are also incredible with so much detail included.

The illustrations are always so cute.

I recently had a chance to review Lewis Hamilton, one of the newest Little People, Big Dreams books coming out soon. It’s a series I will continue to recommend, I don’t have kids but love to give them as gifts!

Knowing nothing about Lewis Hamilton this was a great way to learn about his life as a Formula One racer and how he campaigned for racial justice and racial diversity in sport.

Thank you to Netgalley and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is another spectacular book in the Little People, Big Dreams series. The charming illustrations and rich, but simple storytelling make it a dream to read with young readers.

I really enjoy how this entire series - and specifically this book - gives a whole picture of the person’s life and doesn’t just stick to the “thing they’re known for”. I always appreciate learning more about the whole person and especially Lewis Hamilton!

Another fantastic book from the Little People, Big Dream series, about a fascinating, inspiring character. I had no idea that Lewis Hamilton was not only the first black driver to win Formula One, but also the youngest. Interesting to learn about his childhood too and how the interest in racing began in a slightly different way. As is usual for this series of books, it is brilliant written and beautifully illustrated.

This is such a cute book for any kids who are f1/ Lewis Hamilton mad or indeed any kid of F1 mad parents.

The illustrations are cute and yet I noticed the little details such as the inclusion of both his mum and step mum in them, alongside his brother, his sisters, his change in hair over the years.

It was a pleasant surprise to see his activism included and sends a great all round message to the kids who read this book. Life is about more than just the achievements you make but also your contribution to society as a whole. Love it.

Little People, BIG DREAMS has the journey of Lewis Hamilton. The Formula One Champion had a life full of dreams that he made a reality with the help of his family and a focused mind.
Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara gives us a great story and timeline about the life of Lewis Hamilton. Getting a remote-controlled racing car as a birthday present marked a very important event in Hamilton’s life. What is more, is that he took his hobby and made it into a career. The trajectory his life took from then on is highlighted in the Little People, Big Dreams book.

The sacrifices the family underwent to get young Lewis Hamilton into races and competitions, and his natural abilities all are a part of who Lewis Hamilton is now.
Persevering and breaking into a world that was not inclusive of people of color, shows the determination he carried since childhood. After his father’s sage advice “Let your results speak for you” I think nothing was going to hold Hamilton back.

Lewis Hamilton (Little People, Big Dreams Series) by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara

As someone who grew up watching Formula 1 Racing, I really enjoyed this book! It was fun to see how Lewis Hamilton got his start in racing with RC cars and then a go-kart. The book follows Hamilton all the way through his championships in Formula 1. I also learned that Hamilton works hard to make sure anyone who wants to get into racing will hopefully have that opportunity in the future regardless of one's race, gender, or disability.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for allowing me to read this advanced copy of Lewis Hamilton! I would also like to mention that the artwork by Fernando Martin was colorful and adorable! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys racing or if you enjoy learning about someone who champions for causes both on and off the race track!

The story of a man, who came from a broken family, yet supportive dad gives him motivation to pursue his dream. And he became the first black person who broke the record for most Formula One triumphs, and knighted. An encouragement for colored people who got more difficulties to reach for their dream.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for making this available..

I was never really into racing or fast cars, but one day I seen Lewis on tv during one of his races and I took an interest. He was the first formula one driver I ever learned about.

It was refreshing seeing his story, and hopefully this will inspire your kids to keep following their dreams.

The ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The ‘My First Little People, Big Dreams’ series provides informative and inspirational biographies about people who left a mark on this earth, no matter what difficulties they have encountered.
These stories are very short, but that’s because they’re books for children, so it’s totally understandable.
I think they are a very smart and wonderful way to introduce little children to such important figures. In this last little book we have the story of Lewis Hamilton, the incredible Formula One champion. He broke the record for most Formula One triumphs, and, after his seventh World Driver’s Championship, he was even knighted. But the thing that matters the most is that no matter his triumphs, he has never forgotten who he is, where he came from, and all his and his parents’ sacrifices.

Born in England, Lewis lived with his mother and sisters much of the time, but it was his father who encouraged him the most in his interest in auto racing. His father always told him to ignore any nay sayers and "Let your results speak for you." He started with radio-controlled cars, then on to Go Karts, and eventually became the first black and youngest Formula One Grand Prix champion ever. He continues to speak to racial justice and equality in sports and is an advocate for positive mental health as well as environmental issues.
The illustrations by Fernando Martín are fun, simple, colorful, and delightful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Quarto Publishing Group/Frances Lincoln Children's Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

This is a very inspiring story about overcoming prejudice and racism and bullying and rising to the top through hard work and dedication. I find it particularly inspiring that Lewis Hamilton has used his fame to speak out about many issues, including racism, LGBTQ+ rights, children's welfare, and animal and environmental concerns. The people who make it to the top don't always turn to raise up the ones who don't necessarily have a platform to speak for themselves, so it makes me like someone more when I find they are vocal about these issues.

It is well-written, and the story flows easily and clearly. The illustrations are bright and colorful and cheerful and add to the story. I would recommend it to young children and early elementary students.

*Thanks to NetGalley, Quarto, and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for providing an early copy for review.

We're big fans of the Little People Big Dreams series in our house and we're especially excited to see Lewis Hamilton's book pop up. My own dad is a huge Lewis Hamilton fan so we had a great time reading about grandad favourite racing driver. It lead to some great discussions in our house about bullying, racism and on a positive note - charity work and acts of kindness. A really lovely addition to this series and one we will purchase ourselves. Many thanks for this arc from netgalley
