This series is so interesting and cute. I would love to have this books when I was a little girl.
Lewis Hamilton's story is very interesting, I'd like to read more about his life.

As a school librarian I like this series. In a brilliant visual way it tackles important topics and tells the back story of influential people around the world.

I would love to add a copy to my school library to help inspire the next generation.

I would love a version with British English where relevant (eg favourite).

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this ebook via NetGalley, and the following is my honest review. I intend to purchase a hard copy for my child's library in March when it is released.

I'm a big fan of this series. It boils down complex topics from history to an elementary level. I don't follow racing in general or Lewis Hamilton in particular. Still, this held my interest and connected this man's achievements to a larger picture of the importance of inclusivity.

Love the art style. Even though it's simple, the pictures are emotive.

Would recommend if your child loves racing or sports cars or if you collect the Little People, Big Dreams series.

Another great read from a fantastic series of books!
Now, I knew who Lewis Hamilton was as my husband loves formula one, but I didn't know a great deal else about him.
Was interested to read about all the charity work he does, especially for children.
Great book

I received an electronic ARC from Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books through NetGalley.
The Little People Big Dream series has introduced readers to a wide variety of incredible people. Sanchez Vegara has perfected bringing biographical information to a level for elementary readers. In this volume, we learn about Lewis Hamilton. The book starts with his childhood and the bullying and racism he faced. His father introduced him to racing - first, remote control cars; then go-karts. From here, readers see him persevere and overcome obstacles to become a Grand Prix Champion several times. I appreciate the author also including his humanitarian work for justice.

Prior to reading this book, I never knew Lewis Hamilton is a Formula One Racer. The illustrations and writing of the book made it easy to understand and relatable. I was very interested that he was knighted.

I am very familiar with the story of Lewis Hamilton as I am a super fan of Formula One. This book is a feel good story, it creates an inspiring atmosphere for the young readers that they can do anything if they put their mind to it. I think that the illustrations are beautiful and the bright colours help the book appeal to a younger audience more. I rate this book 4/5 stars. I think it could be improved if it was slightly longer and had more detail into how Lewis achieved his 7 WDC.

Here is an excellent entry in this inspiring series. Sir Lewis Hamilton was once a little boy who loved moving vehicles. There were remote control ones, go karts and eventually amazing Formula One success for this champion.

It was not all easy. Young Lewis stood out as there were not many other Blacks doing what he was. Kids will enjoy reading the encouraging note that he received from a certain Ron. They will see how Lewis kept going, literally and emotionally. Among the most impressive things about Hamilton is that he never forgot where he came from. Kids could do well to spend time with him.

This is a favorite entry for me in this series. The illustrations are delightful and the story will just speak to kids.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.

I went into this with an open mind. I'm not a sports person really, especially when it comes to sports with cars. It's just not my thing. And I've heard his name before, so I thought I'd get a history about him like the other books in this series provided for other well-known people. But what I got was a racially charged story. I will not be purchasing this for my niece.

My son and I both really love this series, and this book was great! I find them to be a really easy, quick introduction to the person and their accomplishments. It’s a good overview, and we use this series as a jumping off point. Usually will get my kiddo excited about the person, what they stand for, and will want to learn more. I like that they have a more historical timeline at the back and more suggestions for further reading. I love Formula One and my son enjoyed hearing about Lewis’ struggles even though he was very successful. The artwork is lovely as well. This is a wonderful book for preschoolers and early elementary aged kiddos. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.

My Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

Received for review: I received an advanced copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not obligated to write a good review, nor did I receive any compensation for writing this review.

Why did I decide to turn the pages? I have loved discovering children's non-fiction books along this vein. So I was excited to give this one a go.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I really enjoyed this one. It's a good primer. Not a deep dive. But a good introduction to Lewis Hamilton. I can really see young boys, in particular, really liking this one. The illustrations were good. I thought the writing could have used sharpened up at times, but overall, I really enjoyed this one. I look forward to reading more in this series and by this author.

So why 3 stars? While I did enjoy it, I have read better in the genre.

Pages: about 33. Some are pictures, though, and aren't words.

Reading age:4-7 years of age.

Love,

I love this series. I am always eager to read the newest releases from it. I love that there are people I know and ones I don't know and didn't expect. I love the many artistic styles of the illustrators. Please continue to make more of these books!

I don’t know much about Formula One racing but this is a cute book to open the door to discuss issues like racism, being in a single parent household, and perseverance. The pictures are bright and colorful. I encourage teachers and guidance counselors to have this available in their nook to inspire conversations.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. #NetGalley #LewisHamilton

My family and I are huge F1 fans; we spend every race day together bonding over rival teams. They're all Redbull supporters, and as you can imagine, I am a massive Mercedes fan. My youngest son who is 5 has also started following F1 and is eager to support any driver who I adore - it is always hard to pick; I love the kind and good nature of Daniel who is the class clown, I enjoy following Lando's young and inspiring success and am a sucker for Sainz and his own brand of comedy but when it comes to racers who have changed the world, I always pick Lewis. I really like that Lewis strives to be a rolemodel and understands that his actions go beyond the track. He is open about growing up as the only Black F1 driver, talks about his mental health struggles and is constantly seeking ways to help marginalised communities. I loved that this book simplified his road to success in a way that kids can grasp, without downplaying just what a wonderful human Lewis is and everything he has had to overcome. I especially liked how vibrant the illustrations were, and how little tid bits of info (like what him and his dad ate after his first win) were highlighted. This made it easy to chat about afterwards with my son and also made way for us to touch on heavier subjects like racism in a way that he could comprehend.
All round, a beautiful and lovely book for kids, highlighting one of my own heroes.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book. I really enjoyed it and a year from now when I am a teacher I will make sure to always have this book in my classroom for students to read! I think these books in this series are so important and so including to everyone, and it’s important to show that in the classroom.

What a stunning book for children. I love how this child-friendly biography not only teaches you about Lewis Hamilton’s life and rise to success, but it tells about his hardships and activism as well. I am of the mind that children should be taught empathy and also the shortcomings that humans have to treat each other with respect and care. This book encapsulates the beauty of Lewis’s story while also setting children up to have empathy and anti-racist attitudes.

I love this series! I didn't know anything about formula 1 racing or who Lewis was before reading this. A lot of LPBD books feature people that are no longer living, so it's nice to see a contemporary person who has made history in their sport! As always, fun with nice illustrations and perfect for kids and classrooms.

Thank you to netgalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Lewis' story appealed to me because it encourages children to never give up on their dreams and to never give up trying; the illustrations in this book are also very cute, making me wish the pages could go on forever.

Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group- Frances Lincoln Children’s Books, for the advance reading copy.

Loved this short biography on Lewis Hamilton who is known for breaking the most triumphs in Formula One.

What I learnt and would like to tell the young readers while reading the book is that it takes years and efforts in becoming someone who breaks records in sports or in any field/profession.

Likewise Lewis started from a very young age. Despite rejections and loses, he kept trying his best until he becomes the best at what he does.

I would have loved this book more if the illustrations are a bit better and more easier to the eyes.

This was another wonderful installment in this series! I appreciated that this book focused on his determination despite the odds stacked against him with finances and racism. He then turned that determination into activism to encourage others to pursue their dreams too, no matter what.
