George ,a Friulian has known that he will be called at any time or place to do battles with monsters. Originally he fights monsters by himself. George gets premonitions to let him know there is a monster to be fought. Does he know what type of monster? George is a martial arts expert and clairvoyant which means he can read minds. Saga is a Swedish Armed Forces master in explosives and weaponry besides being a doctor. She can take harmless materials and used them as a deadly weapon. Together George and Saga fight well against the monsters. The monsters are some you know but there are new creatures. It kept me on the “edge of the page.” There are some unusual monsters they fight.

The author has written a dark fantasy, horror, suspense and supernatural horror. This is the first book of the series which has me hooked to read the next one that comes out.

George has known most of his life that he will be called to battles with monsters and although the details are sparce when he gets the call which is a premonition he must go but sometimes they pop up anywhere. David is a freshman at Boston college his originally from Italy but his family owns a home in Vermont and he is very skilled in cutlery and cooking but also has a double major wanting to be an engineer. He usually fights monsters on his own like the oversize guppy he ran into in the subway on his way back from class but he’s not going to stay a solo fighter forever. I thoroughly enjoyed this book I loved Jane and when she was conversing with the fish that made me laugh out loud I also thought his quiet demeanor was such a good match for Saga I thought this book had some wonderful characters including his roommate David and I love how George can read peoples thoughts and we get to hear all about it that was such a great touch and I’ll build this book is not steeped in reality it is definitely steeped in entertainment it was a book I hope it is more to come. I thought these monsters were Uber original Although it’s hard to create things that haven’t been created before I think Mitchell Sanders does a great job coming close. If the laughs don’t get to the monsters well there’s so much to like about this book and I liked it all and highly recommend it. I received this book from NetGalley The publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I LOVED this book. It’s got action and drama. It’s got depth. It’s definitely going to stick with me. It’s going to hard to do it justice in a review, but here goes. The premise, characters, and world are unique and compelling. There are a couple of trigger warnings but nothing too graphic or extreme. The story is well-written and memorable. Read it!

I really enjoyed this opening to the Climate of Monsters series, it had what I was looking for from the description. I really enjoyed how well it was written and getting to go on this journey with the characters. The characters were what I was hoping for and it worked in this genre. Mitchell Sanders has a great writing style and it left me excited to read more in this series.

"As George made it into the heart of the town that sickening feeling that he felt so long ago was back in the pit of his stomach. His extrasensory perception told him that up the crest of that mountain was a site for an annual massacre that he was going to try and put an end to."
