This was a really cute enemies-to-lovers black small town romance. I definitely recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of The Hookup Plan. I loved how the characters got to know each other again over time and debunked all their former misconceptions based on miscommunications in the past. The story at the end was also really cute. I wish it was its own book.

Thank you, Netgalley and Forever Grand Central Publishing, for this ARC.

Sinclair maid-of-honor to her bestfriend wedding and less then thrilled that means having to deal with her rival Rett who is the best man. While they deal with the upcoming wedding they butt heads alot with many things but one thing that does seem clear is that simmering attraction they have but Rett has no plans on staying in town for long and Sinclair isn't the type to leave her hometown.

I love a good enemies to lovers trope and this book really was that so perfect for me. I enjoyed seeing how they had their little tiffs and worked through things together. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the lives they were building on their own and how it lead to what was going on in this book and seeing how they handled and ups and downs of life that was really getting to them. Overall pretty good book I really enjoyed it.

Garrett Davenport comes home for a special family gathering, organized by Sinclair Buchanan. Seeing Garrett sends Sinclair's heart into a flutter, a feeling he mirrors. Despite their mutual attraction, their hectic lives make them question the possibility of a relationship. However, the intervention of Mama Mae, Garrett's grandmother, brings them together for a home renovation task she wants Sinclair to lead.

Both Sinclair and Rett are intricately crafted characters with unique and commendable traits that shine even brighter together. Sinclair's journey to trust Rett is gradual, and I appreciated how he earnestly earned it. Their profound family connections, even with underlying tensions, are touching. Garrett's bond with his grandmother adds a heartwarming touch, and her character is a joy to read. The story unfolds into a passionate romance, offering a delightful reading journey.

This book is one of the worst I've ever read. The sex takes up more space than plot development and adds nothing to the story. Love isn't all about the sex, it's about finding common ground with your partner, knowing him or her for who that person really is. It's about dreaming together for a future together. Their is so much character development that could have been done if the sex hadn't gotten in the way first. As it was, the plot was clunky and seemed to be moved forcefully from one point to the next.

The second novella included in this galley was some better, but not much.

One star.

Forever (Grand Central Publishing) provided the copy I read for this review.

Return to Hummingbird Way by Reese Ryan is the second book of her Holly Grove Island Series and an absolutely wonderful love story!! ❤️

Sinclair and Rett (Garrett) are enemies since they were teenagers... but 5 years ago everything changed and hate turned into a very hot night for them both.
Now they meet again because both have to organise the wedding of their best friends as maid-of-honor and best man.
After all this time will it be possible for Sin and Rett to work professionally together to help their friends with their wedding?
And if they've to spend so much time together... what about the feelings from years ago?

OMG! I LOOOOOVED THIS BOOK!
Sin and Rett are like cats and dogs! Soooo oppositional but they've a lot in common too!
I devoured their story and absolutely enjoyed this special storyline!
There were so many ups and downs and turnarounds!
It was wonderful to be back in Holly Grove Island. Felt like I met some old friends again!
I'm so thankful for the special mood this book put me in. ❤️
It warmed my heart and soul and I just fell in love with the characters.
It easy to fall in love with Rett - but Sin is not exception. She's such an inspiring, strong and independent woman!
It was wonderful to see that this love story had a different kind of HEA.
Not everyone needs to have the same dreams or needs to live up to the high expectations of family or society... it's great to stay true to yourself and the things you want. It's even better when your partner wants the same things.

Okay... enough of this emotional talking! 😅🥰❤️
RETURN TO HUMMINGBIRD WAY is a brilliant love story full of emotions, love, friendship, family, joy, sadness, drama, happiness and all the things the real life got for everyone of us. ❤️

Thank you so much to Reese Ryan and Forever Grand Central Publishing for this ARC via NetGalley.
This is my honest review in my own words.

I'm absolutely sorry for the delay and hoping for forgiveness.

The h and the H were sweethearts from way back. Circumstances drew them apart. They are both back in town for a wedding; H’s cousin and the h’s best friend. They work out their issues and it’s happily ever after.
I got an ARC from net galley.

Reese Ryan wrote a beautiful novel in Return to Hummingbird Way. It is a second chance romance between Sinclair (Sin) and Garrett (Rett) who have recently reconnected for mutual friends wedding. They had previously connected during their younger years and during the wedding preparations they find themselves sharing witty banter and romance.

The way that Reece Ryan writes is quite magical and her story is beautiful. The characters are well developed and I fell in love with the leads (and others too, of course). This is the 2nd book in a series but can honestly be read alone.

I have waited for this book for three years and it did not disappoint. I loved the relationship between Sin and Rett and the reliance on communication and not misunderstanding. I will read anything Ryan writes, but this one goes on the keeper shelf. Even better the epilogue promises a third installment, just take my money now.

Small town - enemies to lovers - a little second chance romance. This town is super cute with a bestie getting married. Sinclair is working on making the perfect wedding for her BFF and Rett comes back into town. Enjoyed that this was an older 30s romance- with some baggage and Rett had to work for it. Both in real estate - so we get bits of that as well.
The Grandma Mama Mae is a wonderful side character to bring in some light and laughs. Enjoying this series and can’t wait to see what Ryan has next in store!

Thanks to Forever for this book!

It was a beautifully sweet love story. I was so happy to see these characters get their happily ever after. I loved the first book in this series and this second story was just as good. I look forward to more from this lovely world the author created.

I'm such a sucker for small town second chance romances. Sinclair and Garrett's paths cross again when their best friends are getting married. Tasked with pulling off a short notice wedding, Sin and Rett are forced to confront their frustrations but also lingering attraction towards each other, especially finally talking about that one night together years ago. In their time together they finally peels back their layers and realize that there is so much more there than they realized.

I loved everything about this story, from the whitty banter to the smoldering attraction between these two. In between are them both dealing with personal, family, and career issues. The flow of the story was great, and I had a hard time putting this one down once I got started.

This is the 2nd book in the “Holly Grove Island Series”. I’m a big fan of second chance romance. Reese Ryan did an awesome job as usual. The long-awaited wedding of best friends Dakota Jones and Dexter Roberts is fast approaching. Sinclair Buchanan is Dakota’s friend and Garrett Davenport is Dexter’s cousin. Rhett is a real estate agent and is returning back to Holly Grove for his cousin’s wedding. Sin is a real estate agent in the Holly Grove area. The two have been tasked with taking care of everything needed for the upcoming nuptials. Sin is the maid of honor and Rhett is the best man. Each of them is headstrong with Sin wanting to do all and leave Rhett out of everything. Rhett being the no you’re not kind of guy. I’m in for the long haul so let’s get things rolling, we have a wedding to plan. Sin and Rhett shared a hot sizzling one night stand that neither forgot. Rhett has family issues that he is dealing with. The love hate relationship along with the camaraderie between Rhett and Sin was combustible. These two know that they want to be together but to the long way of getting there. I surely hope that Reese comes up with more characters for this Holly Grove series it is truly swoon worthy and an awesome read with an awesome plot. We need more Holly Grove characters Reese Ryan.

Now that Reese has given her readers Sin and Rhett’s love story; we would still like a love story on Em Dexter’s sister and the nosey Angela’s books. Just a thought Reese.

I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

There is something to be said about reading a book with characters who look, act and think like you.

I love that BIPOC authors are bringing in the representation and closing in the margin that has been left wide for so long.

I enjoyed reading this book. The plot is interesting and I liked how the author wives the past into the present without making us play the guessing game.

As with small town romance, side characters are usually hold their own and bring their A-game to the story. That been said I love Grandma Mae- a subtle matchmaker. She played her game so well that the MCs did not suspect her at all.

If you enjoy small town romance with the enemies to lovers trope, you will enjoy this.

When their friends decide to move their wedding up to seven weeks away, Sinclair and Rett, longtime enemies, must work together to make sure everything goes smoothly. Complicating things is that in addition to their animosity toward each other they did hook up several years ago and have never quite gotten over it. Throw in meddling family members and its a perfect combination for electricity.

This was a wonderful read on a quiet, sunny Sunday afternoon. I really liked both Sinclair and Rett. They both had their own prejudices about the other to get over and complicated relationships with their respective families. I liked that they were always on really even footings as it meant that I could just enjoy their tension and attraction to one another. I felt like I was reading a book about adults in an adult relationship which was a very welcome change compared to many books I’ve tried recently. I really enjoyed the side characters as they really helped round out the story and paint the scene. As a bonus the book came with a novella from Jeannie Chin which I have read previously and enjoyed.

Return to Hummingbird Way was such a good book! It's book 2 of the Holly Grove Island series but can be read as a standalone.

I just loved this sweet romance with great banter! Both MC’s have their own drama that carried over from childhood but together they overcome that and finally realize what everyone else already knew…that they are perfect for each other. The sparks between Sinclair and Rett just fly off the pages!

I do feel like Sinclair was a little too judgmental when it came to Rett (jumping to conclusions) but it is obvious that it stems from her critical mother. It was great seeing the way Rett stood up to her mom. It was annoying how Sinclair’s mom kept pushing her to get married and have kids just like her sister. I appreciated how this book showed that a HEA ending doesn’t require children.

I was not a fan of the way that the book suddenly ended (at 70%) with another author's book. It took me by surprise - I wanted more of this book!
