I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
This book follows the story of a collection of masks that have the ability to turn the wearer into different creatures. The first half is set when the Spanish invade the Americas and the second half is set in a futuristic city. In both stories, the holders of the masks fight for the people against oppressive authorities.

Brilliant comic. I think it needed some elements of the backstory at the beginning. It took me time to figure out what was happening.

The artwork is great, very fast paced story but a great mix of characters and it is puzzling, gripping and engaging. I got to the end of this omnibus version and felt like it was now the story could really begin. I am looking forward to what comes next.

Thank you, IDW Publishing, for allowing me to read Brutal Nature Omnibus early!

The galley was unreadable on my device.

Fun, like I think most comics should be. I liked the overall plot, the supernatural aspects of the characters add to the story without being stupid, over the top distracting.

An interesting comic featuring heroes who get powers of mythical creatures when they put on masks. This was an interesting take on the colonial period.
