Weylyn, Olwen, and other members of the marginalized and subjugated group known as the Tóráin are trying every day to gain equality and freedom. Their enemies, which consist of vile human monarchs, their soldiers, and a masked witch assassin known only as The Dove, continue to tighten their grip around the necks of the Tóráin.

I went in blind with this book.

A dark fantasy about werewolves..... If you liked the Twilight saga this book is definitely for you. I think that you have to be of a certain age to enjoy this book. This is the start of a new series .All in all a good read but not really for me.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.

This book was not able to grab my attention. It had such a great premise and didn't meet up to what I was expecting.

"Blood of the Hunted" is an exciting fantasy book that takes place in a mystical world called Kosavros. In this world, humans are cruel rulers, and other creatures called Torain are struggling to survive. The story starts with a scary event where the evil King Louis carries out a brutal execution. This sparks a riot between the humans and the Torain. This story is very reminiscent of my early love of Twilight. This definitely hit a bit of nostalgia for me.

The author, Marc R. Micciola, is a fantastic storyteller. His writing is exciting and easy to understand, and he paints a vivid world filled with danger and mystery. The way he describes things is perfect, making the reader feel connected to the story. I especially liked how he included the Fleuran dialect in the conversations with the king's guards. The characters face many challenges, and we get to see their strengths and weaknesses through different points of view. Each chapter is full of adventure in this heroic tale where humans are the villains to be afraid of.

I wanted to like it, but it’s just okay for me. It’s like Twilight in that there’s werewolves, so if you like werewolves, you’ll probably like this book. I’m just not a huge fan of that because I’ve read similar titles with werewolves before and they all blur together. I’ve just read too many versions.

Personally I find it really boring, trying to put so much information at the start of the book can make it hard for the reader to read and maybe make the turn off reading the rest of the books

I struggled to finish this. I'm only at around 20%. The concept is great, the setting is interesting. But the writing is so long winded, it felt like a chore to read. It's so wordy and long that it felt like it's saying a lot without really saying anything. It also jumps thought, for example, this part talks about the cousin, then jumps to the father who died with snippets of what they're fighting about, then jumps back to the cousin with whom he finds secretly attractive. This book also has the longest Prologue I've ever seen.

I enjoyed it enough, and found the characters relatable and likable. The writing was actually really good, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed that.

Thanks for the ARC NetGalley

ARC from NetGalley

This was my first book from this author and I am hoping it won’t be the last!

A really interesting fast paced fantasy book with dystopian and werewolf elements!
The multi-POV story keeps you on your toes and although some of them are more difficult to relate to they all really add to the story being build throughout the book.
Our main characters are really put through their paces thorough the story, it starts with a heart wrenching opening and just carries on from there!
I’m not always a fan of dystopia but I really enjoyed this book! I feel like having a physical copy of this book would really help because then I could flick back to the language key that’s present at the back.
Its a chunky book and requires a commitment but it is worth it!

I fell in love with the characters of this book. It reminded me of my childhood love of Twilight. I found myself not being able to put the book down. It was fast paced, super-natural, dystopian, and very thoughtful. The world building was amazing and mesmerizing. I highly recommend this book and guarantee it will top my charts for this year.

“Blood of the Hunted '' is a fast-paced fantasy set within the mystical world of Kosavros, where humans are tyrants, and non-human creatures struggle to survive. From the opening sentence, darkness slips through the pages building a sense of fear and dread as a war is brewing. We witness a horrific execution led by the unimaginably cruel King Louis. This event entices a riot between the humans and nonhumans referred to as Torain, the hunted. As time passes, we follow the leader of the resistance, Weylan, his friends Olwen, and Rosalie as they are relentlessly pursued by witches set to eradicate the unhumans. Once an alliance is formed under Queen Sophia, the Resistance, and Tudrose band together to overthrow the monarch and bring justice back to the lands.

Author Mark R. Micciola is a masterful storyteller. I found his writing exciting and easy to follow as he vividly paints a vast world of danger and intrigue. The descriptiveness in his writing style is flawless, leaving the reader emotionally invested as the story unfolds. I especially enjoyed the way the Fleuran dialect is sprinkled throughout the exchanges with the monarch guards. The hardships the resistance face is told from multiple points of view and add depth to the characters individually allowing a feeling of connection to their plight for justice as well as a hint at their strengths and weaknesses. Each chapter is packed full of adventure in this heroic tale where humans are the villains to be feared.
