This was so great! The romance the character growth!

When Noelle finds letters to a past love following her grandmothers death, a tik tok ends up connecting her back to a high school nemesis, Theo and his grandfather Paul. Paul being the lost love.

Together they embark on the honeymoon that their grandparents had planned- with Paul in tow.

I really liked the characters and how they felt real and fleshed out to me. Noelle struggled with a lot of mental struggles that I really resonated with and I loved seeing her come into her own as she documented the trip. Likewise, Theo is struggling from expectations and with changes occurring in his business. Everyone was on the adventure but also on their own odyssey of self exploration and improvement.

Very good read- I would read more from this author! 5 stars!

This was cute! It had all the feel good moments and such a cute romance.
I did find myself not enjoying the letters as much as I hoped though and the third act breakup was imo an immature reasoning behind it but still a very cute and sweet romance with a good amount of smut although it's more vanilla than others so there is that.

Thank you to the publisher for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Jessica Joyce was a new to me author and I really enjoyed this book. I already know that I will be looking forward to her next book. The banter in this book was lots of fun. It is funny and sweet read, maybe even bittersweet at times, with a satisfying romance and a wonderful journey along the way.

This was a really good romcom! It was not a cheesy romcom which I appreciated. However, I have been burned out on romcoms so maybe it wasnt the best read for me at this time (LOL).

I liked the generational romance storyline- this was new and interesting. The love their grandparents shared rekindling in their grandkids was very sweet. I didnt find Theo very charming but in romcoms like this sometimes the male character just needs to exist to be swoon worthy.

Thanks for the advanced copy!

Like Noelle, Jessica Joyce created a beautiful story that tugged at my heart strings, especially with the connection to grandparents. This book will make you laugh, happy/sad cry, and just affirm that you gotta love LOVE. Can’t wait to see what she writes next! ☺️

I managed to read two novels with a rediscovering our history flavor this week: Josie Silver’s A Winter in New York, and Jessica Joyce’s You, With a View. High school competitors and rivals Noelle and Theo are thrown together on a road trip following the planned honeymoon of her grandmother and his grandfather after their romance was ended by her family, embarking on a journey to unravel the mystery of what ended their relationship and how they moved on to other people. Theo’s grandfather is all in, and becomes a surrogate elder for Noelle, who is sorely missing her Grandma, who was her closet companion and bosom buddy, biggest champion and swapper of secrets.

The twenty-something characters are also struggling with their work lives–Noelle is a photographer but can’t see how she can make a living at it; Theo is all encouragement. Theo is a business whiz, but seems to have unlimited vacation time and a lot of phone calls that indicate things may not be going as smoothly as Noelle is surmising. Noelle’s artistic eye is the vehicle for the author to play with perspective and richly detailed description as the trio travel from point to point. The dialogue is banterey and sweet and ombres from needling to vulnerable to loving as the slow swoony burn ignites.

You, With a View is deliciously angsty, vulnerable, and unputdownable. Like other frenemies to lovers stories, there is some miscommunication, misunderstanding and grudge-holding to further the plot, and snippiness but not outright meanness. It slowly dissipates with the forced proximity of a vehicle, hotels and motels, and eventually, just one bed.

I received a free advance reader’s review copy of #YouWithAView from #NetGalley.

This was such an amazing debut book! I can’t even believe it was a debut! This book had such fun tropes in it. It had enemies to lovers, forced proximity, only one bed, and road trip romance. I loved the chemistry between Noelle and Theo, it felt so real and believable. Also, I absolutely loved Theo’s grandpa, Paul, he was just the cutest! This is an open door romance, but it’s done well. If you’re looking for a good romance read, I highly suggest you check this one out!

Jessica Joyce is an 'auto-buy' author for me now.
You, With a View is one of the best books I have read in 2023. Jessica is an exceptionally talented writer; her prose is gorgeous, her scene-setting divine, the character development is phenomenal, and the romance is beautiful.

(Full disclosure: since reading the book, I have gotten to know Jessica so yeah, there could be some bias, but also, I think this reflects well on Jessica's writing that I immediately reached out to her and gushed about the book and then wanted to take the time to know her better.)

YWAV is a romance between Noelle and Theo, who were high school rivals, but also the love story of Noelle's Grandma and Theo's Granddad, who had been engaged before breaking up and meeting and marrying other people.
It is also a story of love between a grandparent and a grandchild, as Noelle mourns the loss of her beloved grandma, Kathleen, while spending time with Theo and his Granddad, Paul, who are exceptionally close.

Amidst navigating the grief, Noelle is also trying to find her place in the world after having lost her job, is living at home with her parents, and having lost confidence (wrongly so) in her skills as a photographer. She really is at a point where she has nothing to lose when she suggests going on a road trip with Paul to experience what would have been Kathleen and Paul's honeymoon, had they gotten married.
Theo is also at a rocky place in his life, with a tense relationship with his father as well as uncertainty with his career. (FYI, the book is single POV from Noelle's perspective, so we only learn about what's going on with Theo as Noelle does.). He also decides he has nothing to lose and joins Noelle and Paul for the trip.

Now, add in some sexual tension between Noelle and Theo along with some healthy banter with him, and you got yourself an epic journey of personal discovery, love, and laughter.

There's so much more I could say about this book. It is simply brilliant. And I don't think could have been written by Jessica at any other point in her life because it really is a tribute to her own grandmother, who she had lost before writing the book.

Since finishing YWAV, I have done a lot of reflection on my own relationships with my grandparents, all of whom have passed away. I have some regrets of not having spent enough time with my nana and granddad, but am fortunate to have some lovely memories, too.

Thank you to Berkley, NetGalley, and Jessica for the eARC of the book. All thoughts are my own.

I’ve always been a sucker for frenemies to lovers trope. You, with a View, is just that.

Noelle Shepard is grieving the loss of her grandmother. She feels lost. She is back living with her parents after being let go of a job she didn’t enjoy five months ago. Then she discovers love letters written by her grandmother to a man who was not her grandfather. Noelle thought her grandmother told her everything during their Tell Me A Secret sessions but she never shared this one.

Noelle decides to do a TikTok video with all the info she has available trying to find out the identity of the man her grandma loved. The next morning, to her shock someone answered "That’s my grandfather".

When she meets Paul (the man her grandmother loved) she also sees her high school classmate, Theo Spencer. It turns out that Paul is Theo's grandfather. In high school, Noelle and Theo used to compete constantly for first place. They tried to surpass each other every chance they got. Now, Theo is a very successful businessman and she has nothing to show for all the time they have not seen each other. She feels like a failure.

When Noelle learns that her grandmother had planned to marry Paul and they already had their honeymoon sketched, she decides she should do the trip her grandmother never got a chance to do. Paul asks to join her and Theo won't let Paul go alone so of course he decides to come too.

You, With A View, was so freaking cute. Great debut romance with likable characters all around. The MC connection felt real. They had a past together so it was easy to believe they were falling for each other in the present. Paul was so adorable. Such a great grandfather and constant supporter of Theo.

Cliffhanger: No

4.5/5 Fangs

Finding a new ending to a story you thought you knew but it seems there were secrets. Going on vacation through some amazing parks and surviving to tell the tales. Figuring out how to adult after being told you could never be a good adult. This book has that and more. I loved the road trip and now I need that map!
Good romcom for an afternoon delight!

“No one loves me like you do, Noelle. I wake up every morning thinking it can’t get better, and then it does. It’s never going to be perfect, but we can spend the next sixty years or so making it really damn good, if that’s what you want, too.”

Noelle and Theo. After finding a photo and love letter of her late grandma and a mystery man, she posts on social media to find him. The mystery man happens to be the grandfather of her high school enemy and now they’re stuck on a road trip for two weeks to learn more about their love story.

This book was filled with love letters, secrets, beautiful views, and rediscovering your love for an old passion. It was so tender, heartfelt and adventurous. I love seeing Noelle’s journey to healing from her grief while also falling in love with photography again (and with Theo)!

This book was a great read that I devoured. I loved the characters and the storyline. I wish I had more to read!

I love travel romances and letters and rivalries and this sorry had it all. It genuinely felt like Noelle and Theo were meant to be together. The banter between the two seemed to flow but despite that fact there was a lot of bickering as well if felt like a normal relationship, I also love how the trip itself helped Noelle process her grief and life, that is a powerful thing to read about. While I love their story, I do love grandpa Paul more than them, he was just the sweetest.

Cute premise with endearing characters, but I feel like the build-up of this "nemesis" love story could have been more cut-throat? I just felt like I wanted more.

This book might be my most highlighted novel to date. There were so many good one-liners that were perfectly written. I loved the journey from page one to the ending.

This was a sweet love story between two three-dimensional and believable characters. It was funny and spicy, and I cannot wait to read what Jessica writes next!

A truly beautiful story about the lasting love between a grandmother and granddaughter, and the ones they love. I held off reading this one since I recently lost a beloved grandmother, however, this story felt so real to me having had a grandmother with the same closeness. I highly recommend this book!

I have seen so many wonderful reviews of this book, and for good reason. I just finished it, and it's one of those books that I didn't want to end. The narrator did a fantastic job, capturing the characters, their interactions, and the overall tone of the story.

I loved Noelle and her journey, both through her grief at the loss of her grandma and her literal road trip with Paul and Theo. I equally loved Theo and his grandfather, Paul. Their road trip was perfection. It makes me want to throw my family in the car and just start driving and experience the beauty of nature and exploration . The connection between the characters was tangible. I teared up and also smiled through my tears, and just plain smiled at their interactions and time together. I appreciated how real Noelle and Theo were and could have kept reading about them.

I really recommend this book, and I hope you consider picking it up.
