Ohhh yum! Love love this author, lots of romance, action and intrigue. She never fails me. This is Constantine’s and Juliet’s story. When a bartender finds out she’s a long lost princess, it’s Constantine’s job to make sure she can claim that throne. You will see some Characters from previous books return to help him keep her safe when someone is set on preventing her from the throne!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

HOW TO PROTECT A PRINCESS is the first book in Cynthia Eden’s “Wilde Ways: Gone Rogue” series. This story is told from alternating perspectives, and part takes place in the U.S., and the last half takes place in a foreign country. Recently, Juliet Laurent found out she’s a long-lost princess. While that might be a fantasy for some women, it’s not for Juliet. She working as a bartender to pay for school, and she has dreams that being a princess would not help her accomplish. While HOW TO PROTECT A PRINCESS has Cynthia Eden’s signature mix of thrills, chills, and eroticism, it also looks at the dark side of fame and royalty.

Constantine Leos is has been many things – former FBI, BFF and partner for a notorious thief, Wilde agent – but now he’s acting as bodyguard to recently discovered princess. Almost from the first moment Constantine sets eyes on Juliet, he finds her enchanting and finds himself in an uncomfortable situation. Not only is she part of his current job, he thinks Juliet is too good to be in any kind of permanent or serious relationship with him. Juliet pushes him and doesn’t let him get away with that kind of thinking for too long. She’s been independent for a long time and is stronger than she may first appear. Whether in the states or in the European kingdom of Lancaden, Cynthia Eden expertly uses misdirection to throw the reader off balance and create more mystery surrounding who may be behind the attacks on Juliet. Naturally, the close quarters and intense circumstances only bond Constantine and Juliet tighter together and increase their feelings of attraction. There is a wonderful banter between these two that runs the gamut from fun and flirty, dead-serious and intense, and wildly hot.

HOW TO PROTECT A PRINCESS has a hopelessly devoted bodyguard hottie help a newly discovered princess dodge psychos and claim her inheritance. Although Eric Wilde is running a security agency, sometimes it feels as though he’s working as a matchmaker as well – and I love it! I like how the Wilde books are filled with tough female cops, and this story is no exception. I wouldn’t mind reading a story in the future with one of these ladies as the main female protagonist. I love Cynthia Eden’s Wilde world and can’t wait for the next book!

Every time I think that Ms. Eden can’t “top” the previous book, I am proved wrong. The suspense, the action, the romance and the lively dialog get me every time! Constantine Leos, who we first met in The Thief Who Loved Me and The Bodyguard Next Door, needed his own story, and what a story! Juliet Laurent was working at a bar in Baton Rouge while completing her college degree. She had been warned never to go to Lancaden, as she would be killed. When news leaks that she is the heir to the throne, her life is thrown into turmoil and the only one who can protect her is Constantine, her bodyguard. He is attracted to her, but vows to remember the bodyguard steps…well, he tried! Juliet feels safe for the first time, but will she be able to accept that he is only her bodyguard when she wants so much more? Arriving in Lancaden, she is immediately threatened. Who wants to make sure that she never ascends to the throne? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

This is a voluntary review of an advanced book.

I went into this book expecting the typical entitled rich girl princess and her bodyguard and boy was I wrong! Juliet grew up not knowing that she was born into a royal family and was actually a princess. Her grandmother and mother protected her by keeping this a secret because of her grandfather.

When Con goes to meet Juliet, she is tending bar! She hasn't needed a bodyguard and feels like she can handle herself until she is mobbed by the paparazzi after leaving work. From then on, she is either getting death threats or followed by reporters.

After meeting with Erik at Wilde, she decides to go and see her grandfather. Juliet also wants to find out what is behind the allegations that her grandmother hired a hitman to kill the king. She just doesn't believe that her grandmother could have done something like that.

There are so many twists and turns and things that I did not see coming! I could not put the book down as I wanted to see what was going to happen next. Sorry, no spoilers, and were there some crazy twists.

I loved that Con felt he did not deserve Juliet when he really was perfect for her and the kind of support she would need to stay safe. Great HEA and as always, there is an epilogue that gives an idea of who is next in line for their story.

Cynthia Eden has done it again! Though it's no surprise. She's a phenomenal author and one of my all-time favorites. And books like this one are the reason why. It was so easy and fun to read but also kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I loved everything about this book.

Juliet just found out that she's a princess, but other members of the royal family aren't interested in having anyone else get in their way of the crown. So of course, we have Constantine making his entrance and letting Juliet know that he's the right man for the job of protecting her. But feelings quickly grow stronger and Juliet becomes much more than a job to Constantine.

This book had everything I could want and then some. There was so much action and suspense, the romance and chemistry between Juliet and Constantine was insanely hot. There were twists and turns that I never saw coming and I found to be extremely unpredictable. And while the book was fast-paced, it didn't feel that things were happening too quickly. It was just enough to keep me completely locked into the book and what was happening. I couldn't read the chapters fast enough.

It was a truly fun read and it's one that I'm going to be reading again and again, as I do with all of the Cynthia Eden books I've read in the past. She's an author I keep an eye out for because I know whatever she has coming next is going to be amazing. I cannot recommend this book enough and I truly thank Cynthia Eden and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book early!

Constantine, Constantine! Oh my goodness, he did not disappoint in How to Protect a Princess! And I’ll say it again, Cynthia Eden never ceases to amaze me with her plots and story lines. If you’ve been reading the Wilde Ways Series, then you’ve been introduced to many of these characters in previous books and if you’ve read my reviews, you know how much I enjoyed Remy and Constantine’s unusual and unique friendship. I was so thrilled to find that Remy made an appearance in this installment, but it was the unmistakable attraction between Con and Juliet from Page 1 that really got me. The twists and turns in this one had me catching my breath and wondering how in the heck Ms. Eden comes up with this stuff! Kings and castles, a Princess and an assassin, danger and suspense – it’s all in here. I love that each and every female lead is a strong, brave woman who won’t be taken down easily. And Constantine is right up there with all the other swoony, possessive (over the top possessive in this case!) romantic Wilde male leads. I loved this read so much and didn’t want it to end. It’s fast-paced, engaging and stunning as usual. Obviously, I’m quite anxious to find out what happens with Holden now even though I can’t imagine what Ms. Eden will come up with next! I'm grateful to have been given the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book for NetGalley.

Sigh, I absolutely loved this book. Con really is a Price Charming. Juliet is a real Princess. Con has his hands full trying to keep her safe. There is a lot of suspense with a ton of steamy romance. I can't wait for the next Wilde Security novel to come out.

This one was so much fun to read and I raced through it in one sitting. It's a great start to a new spin off of the original Wilde books. Constantine is one of my favorite characters this author has come up with. Juliet was so much more than I was expecting. The plot was unique. The romance steamy. The mysteries intriguing. It kept me guessing. And the end got me excited for Holden's story.
