This was an interesting perspective on the tech industry. Although I wish it provided a more 360 degree view of the issue, rather than just slanted one sided.

The tech companies are dangerous, there is no doubt about that. They not only crush free speech but also weaken democracy and divide societies. Privacy policy? Oh please... this is a joke. Actually, it´s a dystopian nightmare. So what are we supposed to do? Switch off our laptops and phones? It´s impossible, we´ve gone too far, which the recent pandemic proved. The only way to get a grip over those who have us in their grip is to create a law that would not only protect people but also control tech giants. So far it seems impossible due to corruption, clash of interests, and political games. Are we lost? Yes, we are. Is it too late? Let´s hope not.

While this book was informative, it appeared just a bit biased I wasn't overly impressed with this one.

Definitely something to talk about but I don't think this is the best format to do it in. All this information is out there already and I wish it was easier to get new information on the subject in book form.

Crushed is so relevant to current events. It was current, interesting, and very pointed. This book knew what it wanted to say and it said it well.

Anyone who has been paying attention knows that technology and tech companies have more control in our lives than ever before...and more control than most of us even realize. What they may not know is just how embedded these tech companies are with government and other ruling agencies, and how that affects both our current policies and the future of our children and grandchildren. Using examples pulled from recent history, this book illustrates why we need to wake up and speak up now, before we no longer have the ability.
