Delightful and so fun to read. The idea was fantastic and I was hooked right from the star. I'll be recommending it to young adults as well as adults who just want to enjoy a good book.

This was a story that needed to be told. I highly enjoyed the story and cant wait to see what else the author brings into the world.

I'm not typically a reality show watcher, but man was I sucked into the behind the scenes scheming of the reality show Sabine and Yoona find themselves on. Unfortunately for Sabine the cozy, comfortable reality show she auditioned for has decided it needs to be bigger, more competitive and just as scandalous as the others. Worse yet, it's moving to a major streaming service where her classmates will actually see it. Things are not as they seem in the house and if Sabine can't figure out who to trust, her story will be written by the network's editing. In order for Sabine and Yoona to tell their own story, they're going to need to figure out who they are and make a stand. I'M NOT HERE TO MAKE FRIENDS is a fast and furious, drama filled story told in dual points of view, about finding yourself, learning who you want to be, and making your own destiny,

Six teenagers, one house, and a reality show. Sounds like a fun time, right?

As someone who enjoyed Terrace House on Netflix (go watch it now, if you haven’t yet), I had high hopes for this read and was not left disappointed. Some characters I liked more than others, but I find that each one can be relatable. While the plot is centered around a reality show, it also touches on Asian-American family and societal expectations.

If you’re looking for a quick read, this one’s for you!

This was cute but it feels more like it’s written as a middle grade book than a ya. I did like it though & I think it would be the perfect book for Netflix to turn into a movie or tv series.

Somehow entirely surface level- we're given room for a lot of interesting and deeper thoughts, but the entire plot is tied up in teenage girl cat fights and a comically evil television producer. Fun and fluffy but definitely lacking an element that could have really grounded it and made it enjoyable for more than just the reasons reality TV is enjoyable.

This was lovely! It reminded me of Terrace House before and after Netflix took over. It was really interesting to see the different perspectives and to see the background of Sabine and Yoona. Really enjoyed this and would love to see more of these types of stories!

3.75/5 stars! This was a cute little YA read. It felt closer to a middle-grade read than a full-fledged YA, but it was still fun. I liked getting to know Sabine and Yoona and the premise of a reality TV show was handled well. I wish there was something deeper to the story but will read more by this author in the future.

I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
