I listened to this audioARC thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media! Thank you for allowing me to listen and give an honest review!

Every Missing Girl is a detective novel mainly in search of a missing girl who happens to be the niece of one the detectives. This is the second book in the series and while you can read it as a stand alone just fine, the plot of the first book is mentioned quite a few times and I feel like I missed some of the connection to the characters because of it! I think I am going to cycle back and read the first because it sounds so good!
Throughout the story I was on the edge of my seat wondering when they would find the missing girl, if she would be alive, what happened to her, did she run away?, was she kidnapped? As time went on I started to have the feeling it wouldn't be a happy ending but I wanted to keep listening to find out! There were many characters and witnesses etc that were being interviewed and sometimes I was finding myself confused, especially at the end when everything was fast paced and coming together.
Listening to this on audio was fun but teach character had their own voice and sometimes the voices didn't match up to what I remembered from the character. I wanted either the voices to match up or to just read it in one narrative voice.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and its one I would recommend- after reading the first in the series!

The story had alot of characters in the beginning to keep up with, and some felt unneeded. The narration was so bad in the beginning that I almost gave up on the audiobook. It seemed to get better towards the end, like the narrator had finally found her voices. The ending was not what I was expecting and felt underwhelming.

Thanks to NetGalley, Leanne Sparks and Dreamscape Media for this advanced audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Every Missing Girl was everything I could’ve asked for when wanting to open up a true crime book. It felt like I was listening to an episode of Criminal Minds. The story kept me on my toes and was truly heartbreaking. I really want to read/listen to the first book now because I’m obsessed with the Main Characters.

Thanks to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the early access to the audio book.

4.5 Stars

FBI agent, Beck, teamed up with a homicide detective, Taylor, to solve a missing girl case. While working on the case, Taylor's niece also went missing. A coincidence or are these two cases linked? It was now a race against the clock to find his niece. With each passing hour, the chances of finding her decrease.

It was well-written, captivating, and fast-paced. There was never a dull moment. I would have liked an epilogue or a chapter devoted to Frankie's POV. This way, it would have coaxed more emotions from me. I also would have been more invested in the storyline. But it was still a great read without Frankie's POV and I highly recommend it. You can even read this as a standalone.

***I would like to thank NetGalley, Leanna Kale Sparks (the author), and Dreamscape Media for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.**

Currently heartbroken. I just don't know how to feel. This book is so crazy. I love the narration and how well the story is written. I love listening to all the different investigations going on. When I was listening, I felt like I was on the two investigations and working the case with them. As a mom, this is something that is so hard to listen to and one of my worst fears. Seriously, I'm still devastated about the ending, and while I love this book, the ending sucks. The characters are lovable and believable. You can feel their emotions and see how they are working the investigations.

It’s not often that a book leaves me shattered but that’s exactly how I felt after reading Every Missing Girl. It took me a few chapters to get in to it but once you catch on to the array of characters, the plot thickens & takes you on a twisty ride. Several times the author eludes to a previous book that starred the main character, Special Agent Kendall Beck but it’s not necessary to read that one first as I was able to follow along to this storyline. I will probably go back & read the first book in the series since this was was so suspenseful & intriguing.

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed Erin DeWard’s narration on this book! Her voice was easily understandable and she encompassed all the characters extremely well! The story revolves around FBI agent Kendall Beck and her longtime friend homicide detective Adam Taylor teaming up to solve the missing persons care of Adam’s niece Frankie. There are so many twists and turns with shocking revelations along the way! I can honestly say that I had no idea how it was going to end and it all took me completely by surprise! I really enjoyed the authors writing style and how she updates the beginning of each chapter with the time the girl has been missing. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys detective stories and solving mysteries!

Every Missing Girl by Leanne Kale Sparks is the 2nd book in the Kendall Beck series. When I picked it up, I didn't know it was not the first book but it did not affect the story. Some of the background of the first book is shared and it actually made me interested to read it as well.

Kendall Beck is an FBI Special Agent that specializes in searching and rescuing missing children. Kendall and a Homicide Detective Adam Taylor work together to untangle a possible child trafficking web. The story is interesting and fast-moving. The subject of the book is of course difficult and it might be triggering to some readers. I enjoy police procedurals and this one is a great example of it.

The author did a great job with the inner voice of Kendall. She is empathetic and witty, gloomy and a bit melancholic due to her experiences. I really enjoyed getting to know her and her colleagues. The actual story is gripping and there are some red herrings thrown along the way. I did guess the main bad guy but there were some twists that were surprising as well. Living in that world through Kendall's eyes using her inner monologue made it tangible. It's not a world I want to live in but it is our devastating and sad reality. The fact that some of the victims were found alive gave me hope!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Erin DeWard. I absolutely loved the narrator! She did a great job with depicting different identifiable characters. She sounded witty and funny or upset and angry when needed. She really helped me enjoy this book a lot more. I'm looking forward to listening to more books narrated by Erin DeWard. What a great voice actor!

Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for providing me with an advanced copy of this book ahead of its publication day on Feb 7, 2023. I’m reviewing it voluntarily and all opinions are my own.

FBI agent Kendall Beck, who specializes in crimes against children, teams up with her friend Adam Taylor, a homicide detective whose niece has disappeared. Frankie is not the only girl to have vanished and it’s clear that there’s a predator stalking the city. This is a gritty story that doesn’t hold back in its depiction of violence against children; those with an aversion to the topic may want to steer clear. I found it to be riveting, but I was not thrilled with the narration

Every Missing Girl is a solid read. This was a Netgalley Audio arc and I listened to, and loved it, in a single day. Apparently this is book 2 in the Kendall Beck series, but I hadn't read that one and do not feel anything was missed in my enjoyment of the sequel.

There were several story lines going on involving missing girls, and that kept things moving quickly. I thought all the characters were fleshed out adequately, and surprisingly, I really connected with the fmc FBI Agent Kendall. Author Sparks wrote her with a pleasant, funny inner monologue which made her feel more than just a law enforcement character. She was human, and relatable.

As to the plot - hard to listen knowing child trafficking is a thing, but well written and interesting. I did not guess the many surprises which is a treat as a reader.

To the publisher, and future readers, the arc I listened to was recorded in a funny speed. I typically listen to audio at the "normal" 100% rate to be sure to capture the story as intended. This Netgalley arc may have been released at a different rate than the final copy, but at the "normal" rate it sounded like each syllable was being drawn out. I had to double the speed in order to not break my brain. Hopefully if that was in error, Dreamscape can correct it before the 2/7/23 release.

All in all, well done and so well done I am now exploring more work from this author.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this ARC. I enjoyed the narrator of this story, but I’m not a big fan of mainly police procedural thrillers. That’s on me for not looking into more before requesting. Regardless, this was a decent police procedural book but i wouldn’t call it a thriller.

This book was really fun it reminded me a lot of a show I love Longmire and it was easy to get lost in the story! We follow Special Agent Kendall Beck who works out of the Denver CO FBI field office and specializes in crimes against children. Her best friend, Adam Taylor, is a homicide detective with the Denver police department. Adam’s niece, Frankie, goes missing after her hockey game and that is when the story really starts. I loved the narrator and I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I'm so sorry, I'll have to get a physical copy when this releases because I couldn't handle the voices the narrator kept doing for everyone. It was so cringe and I couldn't handle it anymore.

The writing seemed excellent and I was really interested. I just cannot listen anymore.

Thank you to the publisher, author and Netgalley for the ARC of this book.

I really enjoyed this read. I know other reviews shared they didn’t like the back and forth between the crimes but I felt they all flowed really well together. I didn’t see the tie between everything coming, which is always a satisfying read when it keeps you engaged and unknowing till the end.
