A sexy, steamy, quick read story about a GI and a girl from Germany. I really liked the story as a whole! The only thing that got to be a bit too much was the German words being thrown in the sentences. Yes, she's German, but every time she says "My God" it doesn't have to be in German.

Thanks for approving me for this book!

Such a fun story! A sexy romp, with a unique setting--I learned a lot more than I imagined! I enjoyed both the hero and heroine in this fast-paced story. It's perfect for a quick read and features wonderful banter, a healthy dose of spice, and cool cultural tidbits. It's one I'll read again!

This read was very interesting and very steamy. I enjoyed reading it. It was a quick read for me but not boring which I enjoy. The sexiness of it was right up my ally. The author did great and kept my attention

I didn't expect to learn so much about Germany in an erotic novella, but I did and it was fantastic. Wasn't crazy about the central romance, but I have mad respect for what the author did with merging cultures.

Pretty good story. One or two partially steamy parts that last about a paragraph each. Comparatively short with a rather abrupt ending.

This is Chloe Holiday's "lightest" book in several ways. First it's one of her shortest -- less than half (and closer to a third) the length of her last two books (Fly Boy and A Boy and his Dog). Second, there's no peril and very little tension about the lead characters ending up together. In a longer book, I think Birgitte's backstory (being hurt by a previous fling with an American soldier) would have produced some of that tension, but in a story this short we just get briefly told about the history rather than learning about it gradually through a reluctance to become involved with another soldier.

As with her Helios series, Holiday has clearly done her research on her setting, and I enjoy the sprinkling of local expressions (Greek in Helios, German here). This book in particular does a great job of balancing sweet (romance) and steamy (sex), which is often a tricky thing. Holiday's books are consistently well-written and she's produced two likeable lead characters here -- I just wish we had time to get to know them both a little better!

This was a quick little read from NetGalley. I did enjoy reading it, but I felt like I needed an interpreter at times. I would probably refer to it as a short story. The characters move pretty quickly and it’s predictable.

I was given an arc in exchange for an honest review

Desire in Deutschland focuses on Birgitte Schumacher, a German university student, and American GI Lee Klein. It's an instant love romance that's more sweet than spicy. It's a change from the filthy dark romances I've been consumed in, but once my brain switched gears, I had a great time. Reading couples fumble through language barriers and occupational differences is always enjoyable. This novel had that in spades.

Birgitte confused me, yet I strongly related to her. One half insecure college student, the other half siren in the sheets, Brigitte struggled to protect her heart and get what she deserved. Her character is fun. She's playful but goal-orientated and strangely honest for someone of her age.

Lee is so nice. A little too nice for an erotica novel. I'm not saying he had to be a douchebag or an alpha asshole, but in the sheets, I expected more from him. It wasn't until the end of the story that he became more dominant in bed, and the dirty talking turned filthy. His personality is charming. He's down to earth and is also goal oriented.

The two main characters fit like a glove.

I enjoyed reading D.I.D. It was fun, sweet, and short. Being only 98 pages, it's hard to complain about feeling as though the story was rushed. It wasn't much yet; at the same time, I couldn't help but think something was missing and that some things could have been more fleshed out. For instance, when the couple had a huge argument because of miscommunication. The scene was built up practically from when they decided to do the nasty, yet it was over in two pages. I wanted more. The drama should have been just as over the top as their reason for arguing.

If you are in search of a quick light hearted read you should give this novel a go.

Thanks to NetGalley and Backlit PR for this arc!

Birgitte and Lee are wonderful. They are both such realistic characters and the story was easily enjoyed. I appreciated the language used in the story, as it really added to the authenticity of the characters.

A very fun, fast-paced read with a sprinkle of smut and love!

This was a fast-paced lust at first sight love story! I really enjoyed Birgitte and Lee’s first meet. Birgitte and her brother and friends are leaving a football game in Germany when they meet American Lee on the street. Due to the language barrier it’s a funny encounter that ends with all of them going to a bar where Birgitte and Lee start getting closer. It’s a fast read but it tugs at your heart when you can feel Birgitte insecurities due to a past relationship. It’s very funny to try to understand the german passages in the book, I almost had to google it sometimes!
