Taco Bout Love by Lily Kate is a light and fun romantic comedy about Chloe, who stops by the small town of Fantasie to figure out her life, but ends up getting more than she bargained for when she meets Lucas Donovan. Filled with spice, wit, banter, and a cast of lively small-town characters, this book is a delightful read. It's a cute story about starting over and finding love unexpectedly.

Quick Summary: A sweet and spicy romance

My Review: Taco Bout Love by Lily Kate is book # 1 in The Donovans series.

About the Book: Chloe Brown was on the move. She left everything she knew behind her and ended up in Fantasie, Maine. In this magical community, she meets a grump who turns out to be a knight in shining armor, a flower fairy who ends up being a good friend, a tribe of do gooders who end up becoming family, and more. It is the place where all of her dreams finally come true.

My Final Say: This story was so charming. It was also surprisingly filled with a spot of dangerous action. I loved it. Chloe and Lucas both found something special together. It was nice to see their relationship come together.

Other: This book served as a nice start to a new series. There were definitely many noteworthy threads interwoven into book one that grabbed my attention. I look forward to reading more about this place and the people who live there.

Super fun, super cute read! Very light and fast paced which I loved! Really enjoyed the grumpy/sunshine trope as always ☺️
Just an overall great time reading this one!
Thanks Netgalley for the arc!

Fast moving but a nice read to curl up with on a cold rainy day. I love the dual POV. A few issues with the timeline but overall pretty good.

This was requested when I first found out about NetGalley and I had requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before they were archived. I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it! I am giving this book three stars, as I don't want to give it a good or bad rating, since I did not get to it.

Well, first of all, I'm gratefull to have read this Arc book.
Second, I was so much atracted by the title that I had to read it.

This book is cute and cozy, the perfect read when you are feeling low and need something to warm you.
I also liked the characters, Chloe and Lucas, and the way they have a slow burning romance, even when they desliked each other instantly. I swear that growing tension was something!!

Another thing that I liked about this book is the writing being fluid, so it's easy to read. The fact that it's dual pov also helps, I love when we can read both perspectives of the story.

Overall, is a cute romance with a little spice, a great way to pass the time. So if you like books with cute but also tense, slow-burn, small town romance, this book will be good for you.

Enemies to lovers? Tacos and food trucks? What's not to love in this spicy new indie romance from a new to me author. I really enjoyed this one and highly recommend it to fans of authors like Sarah Smith or Gigi Blume. Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

As always, Ms. Kate delivers a story that is impossible to put down and an absolute joy to read. Sexy, witty, engaging, this book was my undoing from the very first page, and just thinking about it makes me want to re-read it all over again.

I'm sorry to give it this score but I expected much more after reading the synopsis (also because of the title and the cover although I know that this does not have to influence whether you like a book more or less). I didn't like the main characters very much, maybe Chloe a little more but Lucas... he may have good intentions but from the beginning he seemed a bit cringy not separating from her and getting angry when someone (his brother) spoke to her although it was to fix her truck. I think there are parts of the plot that are unnecessary, especially the ending, which for my taste has made zero sense.

Small town romance, forced proximity, enemies to lovers - what more could you ask for? I love a city girl x small town boy romance so this was right up my street!

This was a cute story, I found the female main character a little annoying initially but she did grow on me and I thought the town of Fantasie was adorable and quirky and everything you could hope for in a small town romance.

first and foremost I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book. Thank you!

This little small town romcom is set in Maine and it gives a ‘Gilmore Girls” picturesque scene where we follow Chloe on her mission to start her own dessert food truck.

With the small town romance, drama and spicy chapters in this book; I found it a very easy read.

A small-town romance book, "Taco Truck." The story follows Chloe, a young woman who finds herself in Fantasie, a small town with a small but loving population. She is pushed into a relationship with Lucas Donavan, who threatens to tow her truck. Chloe's plans for the future are uncertain, but staying in Fantasie is not on her list.

The plot revolves around forced proximity, found family, enemies to lovers, and the DeMaggio family. Chloe's character is funny and sassy, but she is also independent and wants to continue her independence. Lucas, initially unlikable, gradually warms up to her and is described as a "family guy." He tries to cover up his true feelings of kindness, which is cute.

The characters, Josie and Finn, are engaging and bickering throughout the book. The story highlights the challenges faced by opposites in life, even in their love for tacos. Overall, the book is light and quick to read, with a strong focus on the found family trope and Chloe's determination to stay independent.

Chloe came to Fantasie with broken heart and dream of a taco truck. She's trying to find herself and be the independent, self assured person she feels like she might actually be inside. What she tries to figure out through the book is how to balance independence with having a loving support system. What she didn't expect is to have a whole town work towards making her dream come true, because she is now one of them.
Lucas is the small town's Mr. Responsible who helps anyone with anything including pro bono legal services when he deems it necessary. He's the oldest brother and cousin of one of the main extended families in town and makes sure everyone in his family is taken care of while managing the family Law Firm as its CEO.

“Taco Bout Love” is a real treat! Honestly, the description for “Taco Bout Love” did little to prepare me for such a rich, charming story! I loved it!
“Taco Bout Love” introduces Chloe, a woman looking to start anew after closing the door on her past, and starting her journey in a small town, Fantasie, Maine. It’s here she meets Lucas, and a cast of absolutely wonderful characters, who all welcome her with open arms. There’s a local quilting league, a homey Inn, a kindred friend who grows and sells flowers, and a gaggle of handsome men, all relatives of course, a lawyer, a doctor, a mechanic, a police officer, etc, etc…seriously, where are the directions to this town?
Lily Kate has written a sweet, lovely story, with characters who feel real, and who’s earnest desire to be there for each other is what Rom Coms dreams are made of. I hope Lily Kate gets to continue with her cast of characters, in Fantasie Maine! I would absolutely love to see a story for Finn and Josie-their story is teased so much in this book!
Thank you to LK Publishing, and NetGalley for an early review copy of this book!
“Taco Bout Love” is being released February 14th 2023-mark your calendar!

Thanks so much to LK Publishing and Lily Kate for the Free ARC. This book was a great quick read! Lucas and Chloe’s story is one I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves romance. And I mean who doesn’t love a good story about food?

Thank you for this ARC, Netgalley.
I was really excited for this book… tacos and romance? Instant interest. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it, at all. I was very annoyed by Chloe… I’m not sure why but her character just didn’t click with me and Lucas was so gross and cringe from the moment he’s introduced. Insta-love is one of my favorite tropes but this was insta-infatuation and insta-horndog. It’s partly my fault for not enjoying it, though. This was described as a spicy romance and I’m very particular with the spice I enjoy. If you like spicy romance and lots of tacos, you’ll probably enjoy this!
