Taco Bout Love by Lily Kate takes place in Fantasie, Maine, where Chloe finds herself after leaving NYC and a toxic relationship for a fresh start with her food truck. She starts off on the wrong foot with Lucas, the only lawyer in town, but as the book evolves, you find the two main characters learning more about one another. While Lucas was all in from the beginning, it takes Chloe some time to warm up to him. The book had a great balance of spice, too!

I loved the alternating narrative of Lucas and Chloe. It allowed the reader to watch their story unfold by hearing from each main character. I also loved the town of Fantasie and the other charming characters. They were so lovable and I really liked the close knit community.

Overall, this was a sweet and funny book. It was a bit of a slow burn for me, but I did enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone who loves romantic comedies!

Thank you NetGalley, LK Publishing and Lily Kate for this ARC!

Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this eARC!

I love a grumpy/sunshine trope and small town romance. I like Lucas and Chloe, individually and together and I appreciated the dual POV. While those things were all great, there wasn't that much that was unique about this book. It was good, I enjoyed it, but I probably wouldn't pick it up again.

Dual POV, small town romance, he falls first, a bit of grumpy/sunshine, force proximity.

Good story with likable main characters and quirky secondary characters. A bit more drama thrown in especially towards the end. A bit of a content warning, and I don’t think it’s a spoiler since we get a hint of it early on, but domestic violence is discussed.

Excited to see if the author turns this into a series. Several good secondary characters that I’d love to see again.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for Taco Bout Love to come out February 14, 2023!

So I was unsure of what to expect with this book at the start but intrigued nonetheless. Verdict? I loved it! The writing was brilliant; funny, engaging and flowed well. I loved Chloe’s character and Noah was a nice guy (the boy loves hard!). I loved how the supporting characters were developed and I’m not sure if I’m just being hopeful, but there’s definitely room for more books for this to become a series (Josie and Finn please!)

I enjoyed the story development and the build up, however the last 20% felt very rushed. Did it take away from the story? No! Did it make me love it less? No! If anything I just wished there was more to pad it out.

This was a read that was devoured in about 5 hours, and I am really excited to read more from the author!

Thanks netgalley and the publisher for an ARC copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Thank you so much for this ARC! I thorough enjoyed this book!

One of my favorite styles of books is having the male and female protagonist as narrators. I love multiple points of view.

Chloe and Lucas are such great characters and I love the small town vibe where everyone knows and looks out for each other.

I’ll already be looking for the next story about Fantasie’s residents!

Taco Bout Love by Lily Kate is a VERY cute romcom based in the town of Fantasie - where dreams come true!

This was the perfect light read (with some domestic violence themes, so check your triggers). It was entertaining, and I found myself laughing in some parts, and feeling for the characters in others. It had just the right amount of spice for a romcom.

The story is told in a duel POV, switching between Chloe and Lucas as we follow their love story. The romance itself felt a bit too much like instalove for my liking, Lucas went all-in very quickly. Chloe was a bit more of a slow burn, but even she seemed to turn very quickly.

That aside, I really enjoyed the story. The food truck, Taco Bout Love, was such a good idea! I would absolutely visit this food truck if it were a thing. The whole town of Fantasie was just adorable, the people who lived there were so heartwarming, and I enjoyed reading about their community spirit.

This is a very sweet romcom, and I finished it quickly. I would definitely read more by Lily Kate, and I was happy to see that there is another book set in Fantasie already lined up.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC to read and review honestly.

I was given an Arc copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

First of all this book was adorable! It had me from the beginning! It is filled with sweet moments, romantic moments and moments that made me laugh out loud! All those add up to a really great book!

I hope there is more in this series! Maybe the next one about Noah! Or even Sheriff Finn and Josie’s story! And because this book was so good I think it’ll hook readers into reading an entire series about this family from Fantasie!

5/5 stars for me!

I read this book in one day. Overall, I enjoyed the story of Lucas and Chloe. It's a dual, first person point of view, and it added to the story. I loved the town of Fantasie, Maine. It had all of the charm and fun of a small town, and it was filled with a cast of characters that you can't help but love!

Chloe is looking for a fresh start as she gets out of a toxic relationship in New York, and she finds it in Fantasie, Maine. She runs into Lucas Donovan, who is the only lawyer in town. He might be sexy, but he is also a grump, initially. As they get to know each other more, Chloe begins to see that deep down inside Lucas is a cinnamon roll! He would do anything for anyone in his family, and he shows up for those that he loves.

This book had some steam to it, and it added to the romance of the story. It also had a slow burn, which really fit with the characters.

One thing that I didn't like was the part in the story about Hannah and Carl. It seemed to come out of nowhere, and I don't think that it was necessary to the plot of the story.

Overall, if you like a steamy, slow burn, small town romance with an enemies to lovers and forced proximity angle, this is the story for you! Buy this book as a Valentine's Day present to yourself when it comes out on February 14.

Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for an ARC of this book.

This book was a super cute "cotton candy" book.

It was a nice light and fast read. I really liked the characters and the way they were portrayed. This is one of those books that you can read in one sitting on the weekend.

I will definitely be keeping my eye out for other books by this author.
