I'm a Lily Kate fan! I read several of her books back in the day (Delivery Girl, Hangry, Awkward, Dad Bod), and I would sometimes check in just to make sure I hadn't missed a new release, since it's been a few years. I kept hoping she would write something new, so I am very happy to see she's back to writing! This book sounded all kinds of fun, and the cover is adorable. Gotta love that punny name. As to the story itself, it didn't play out quite the way I anticipated. I was expecting more taco truck shenanigans and less instalove/lust and family interactions, but it's still a cute small town romance. The series has plenty of potential, and I am intrigued to see where it will go next. This lost my interest somewhere along the way - not that anything bad happened, it just wasn't playing out in a way that would hook me - and I ended up setting it down and forgetting to go back to it. So this one ended up as a DNF for me, but I'm looking forward to future books.

I really enjoyed this one! I’m a sucker for a small town romance and I’m a foodie so I love it when a book has a good focus too! Chloe was such a spitfire! Strong and sassy and I adored that! Lucas was great, he was such a softie at heart! Would definitely recommend this!

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Where do I start? Absolutely love Chloe, she's a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and goes for it. Lucas was adorable and I loved how their relationship developed. Usually I prefer more of a build up before the characters get together but here it did not feel rushed and I actually enjoyed it. Such a fun book, loved every single second of it!

Lucas Donovan lives in a tiny town in Maine, and he loves tacos. This brings trouble when Chole Brown rolls into town in her purple, broken-down truck, which she plans to name Taco Bout Love and sell dessert tacos. Suddenly, Lucas can’t seem to keep his hands off Chloe Brown… or her tacos.

This book has a quick start to it, where Lucas and Chole have an instant attraction for each other, but Chole has something (or someone) from her past that she is trying to deal with/get over. Lucas knows what he wants and doesn't want to give in to this attraction with someone he knows won't go anywhere. Yet... both characters (mainly Lucas) can't seem to stay away from each other. I also felt like the ending was added for dramatic effect and didn't seem to fit (I won't say more so I don't give anything away). The relationship between two other characters was hinted at to be resolved, but then you never came back to it. That could be so a sequel/spin-off novel can be made, but it left me with questions.

I dove into this book, ready to love it, but it felt a bit flat. The characters were all loveable, they all had personalities, and it seemed like a great town to be in... unfortunately, the book didn't hold my attention until I was over 60% into it. It was an enjoyable read, and I did keep coming back to it to see what would happen with Lucas and Chole. It is a good read for romance lovers, books with a straightforward theme, and people looking for easy to read books.

I rate this book 3 🌟

I'd like to say a huge thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

AHHHH this was so cute I mean the small town’s name literally says fantasie how cute does it get?
The overly friendly start was kind of cryptic and sus, but it soon turned into the best thing ever, like the town is one big-ass wholesome family (touched my shriveled metropolitan heart)
Chloe Brown has such a drop-dead personality! She’s sassy and banters like a pro.
Lucas Donovan on the other hand, described as “hunky” and “giant oaf” is a real softie <3
“Now stop changing the topic and talk to me about food.”
-Relatable and exactly what I was looking for- the cutest foodie rom-com.
Josie and Finn were so adorable. Like, please, they stole the show. Best side characters ever!
Now, Grandmother DiMaggio, the one person from whom the whole clan is scared shitless, oh my god, why would you rob me of that delight?!

I can go on and on about all the parts that I found hilarious and gave off homely vibes but, my only complaint was his “sword” during the spicy scenes… no why?

Excited for Josie and Finn's book to come out soon!
4 solid shining stars!

Thank you to Netgalley, LK Publishing and Lily Kate for this ARC!

This was a very delightful read! This felt like a warm blanket in the Winter! Lucas and Chloe are a great match, his gentleness and possessiveness to her strong yet vulnerable stance. I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story! I’m a sucker for a dual POV where we get both sides and a peek into their thoughts!

Taco Bout Love is about, well, love. Chloe is on a mission to put her past relationship behind her and work towards her own dreams and goals.

This was a cute and quick read that held dual pov. The romance was a sloooowww burn, until it wasn’t. For the better part of the first half there’s no relationship growth and nothing on the radar aside from Lucas’ pov sharing his want for Chloe. As for Chloe’s pov, her internal struggles of accepting help and settling into a new town was sweet and relatable. She’s independent and will fight for herself while Lucas turned out to be this marshmallow of a character.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read and the only thing I’d change is the pacing of the relationship. I needed more fleshing out and building of their connection vs the dive into the deep end that happens.

ARC Review through NetGalley:

Initial thoughts after finishing: Did you read and enjoy Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score but were bored with the rambling you read in that book? Give Taco Bout Love a chance- a small town forced proximity (not going to say insta love but quick love) but the details are there where it is important and chapters flow quickly where they don’t

Premise: Chloe is escaping life in the city by driving a (new to her) food truck to Fantasie. Unfortunately for her, said truck breaks down and she parks it in the first available spot. This spot happens to be reserved by Lucas Donovan, CEO. Lucas sees Chloe and finds her attractive but still goes outside to confront her. Chloe’s first impression of Lucas is well… he’s an asshole but as she walks to her bed&breakfast/inn, Lucas is close behind, carrying her bag. The owner of the inn, Lily, happens to be no other than Lucas’ mother and after Chloe showers, learns that she is making dinner for the family, a rather large group of them. At this dinner she meets Noah, Lucas’ brother, who is a mechanic and decides to meet up with Chloe the following day to discuss repairs. Lucas, being jealous and protective of Chloe -who still finds him to be a jerk- finds Chloe the next day and causes a scene. As the story unfolds you meet other characters like Josie, Finn, Hannah and Trevor and see how Chloe is able to find just what she was looking for when she left New York.

I have been in a book rut as of lately (physical reading, not audiobooks) so I unfortunately let this go longer than intended before I finished reading it but once I sat down and started, I couldn’t stop. I decided to avoid sleeping altogether and finish this bad boy. This was a RomCom I needed, lighthearted, funny, with some spice. I would love to read more stories from the characters of Fantasie.

A quote about 18% into the story that I belly laughed to “You know, Ruby, you’ve gotta actually pay your tab before you die”

Such a cute book that covers a variety of difficult topics in a great way without simply brushing over them or tying them up in a nice little bow. The small town vibes were immaculate. The overprotective MMC with the weight of the world on his shoulders was perfection. The "I don't need saving" FMC with the attitude to back her up was fantastic. And all the background characters added to the storyline perfectly. I loved the banter between all the characters and the quirks throughout the whole town and everything that was perfectly set out for a second, and potentially third book, which I cannot wait to read!

Thought this was a sweet romantic comedy. It has a lot of potential but felt it could have been so much more. Chloe sets out to leave her life behind in New York where she gets stuck in a small town where everyone knows everybody. She meets CEO Lucas whose pissed she parked her hunk of junk in his reserved parking spot.

****I felt this story needed a drama from Carl since he was mentioned many times in the book, I also felt the ending was rushed the author could have spaced it out longer.****

Overall good story took me one day to read it, excited to see what the Author has next!

A sweet romance with substance, which is what I'm assuming Chloe's tacos are! I also loved getting to know the citizens of Fantasie, and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I could not stop reading this book. It was fun and got me out of my latest reading slump. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review.

While the relationship between Chloe and Alicia’s felt a bit rushed- their story was so fun! I thought the premise was unique. The fast found love was cute, but a little under developed. I wish we would have gotten to experience why they fell so fast.

A cute, quick, small town rom-com read that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Chloe is looking to get as far away from NYC as possible and ends up in a small town in Maine, Fantasie. She gets off to a rough start when her truck breaks down in Luke's parking lot. I loved both of them so much. Chloe is feisty and a little chaotic at times, the perfect sunshine to Luke's grumpiness. But don't let him fool you, he will stop at nothing to protect the ones he loves.

I sure hope this book was the start of a series because I'm going to need to visit the town of Fantasie again. Obviously I want more of Chloe and Luke, but I'd also love to see some of the "side" characters get their time in the spotlight.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because I felt like the relationship between Chloe and Luke was a little rushed.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a super cute romance. Its the perfect amount of grumpy sunshine and small town romance that I love. This is the first in what seems likely to be set in the small town of Fantasie. Chloe drives into town in her rusty beaten up food truck and is immediately told that she will end up staying by the locals. When her truck breaks down in local lawyer, Lucas parking spot he gets grumpy despite being instantly attracted to Chloe. Fun ensues as Chloe builds her dream taco dessert truck.
Can't wait to read the next in the story.

I enjoyed this book! Such a cute read and I appreciated the spice! It was a little cheesy but it actually went really well with the book and it was the perfect level of it!

I love tacos. Easily one of my favorites foods. So the word taco the title of a romcom? I was instantly in. When I started this one, the secondhand embarrassment I got was REAL for the first 2 chapters. Especially when a person is new to town and is sunshine against some grumpy men.

Not only was this storyline perfection, it had sooooo many great tropes! Small town. Enemies to lovers. Grumpy x sunshine. Forced proximity. He falls first. Found family for her. Just one big ass chefs kiss. AND that spice is oooof.

Chloe is new in town, leaving her life in NYC and looking for a fresh start: starting her own food truck. Making food and making people happy through food is her passion in life. She ends up in Fantasie, Maine - the perfect little small town. She ends up parking her truck / breaking down in a grumpy CEO’s parking space - enter Lucas Donovan, the grump but biggest cinnamon roll hero, town lawyer.

LOVE ME SOME DUAL POV. Right off the back we get enemies to lovers. And that sexual tension? 😮‍💨 And as we get to know and see the residents of Fantasie, brothers fight over her at first. Not only is the banter between FMC and MMC great, but the family banter is 😂 Always threatening each other with Grandma DiMaggio and I need to meet her if all 8 beefy men pale at her name. Like I truly hope that this series continues and follows all of the different men in the DiMaggio family because my heart would be SO happy.
