4% in I knew Fantasie was a place I never wanted to step in. While I can appreciate the quirky, small town vibes. Taco bout love missed the mark on all the things we love about small town romances.

I just don’t feel the chemistry between the two main characters, Chloe and Lucas. I do love a good taco 🌮 though.

I wanted to love this. I had high hopes. But it missed the mark for me.

This book was so cute!! You have grumpy/sunshine and forced proximity and it all takes place in a small town where everybody seems to know everybody. What's not to love?

You have Chloe who is a chef from New York and decides to achieve her dream of opening a dessert taco food truck. And you have Lucas who is the only lawyer in the small town of Fantasie, Maine. Lucas has a very convenient reserved parking spot that happens to be empty, and Chloe happens to have a food truck that's about to break down. And queue the dramatic meet cute. (Sort of 😂)

Lucas and Chloe have some fabulous banter and I loved it! And the families were absolutely hilarious. You really felt the small town vibes from this book.

You're not just getting the relationship between Chloe and Lucas. You're getting what it's like to be a new person in a small town.

The romance was a very sweet. You get both perspectives because it's a dual POV. Which is great because Lucas falls immediately. His is definitely insta love. Whereas Chloe is a bit more slow to love. However, she still does fall for Lucas pretty quickly. So it's great to see their individual thought processes.

I did enjoy that it was set up for a second book in this town. So I'm very excited to see what will happen in Fantasie, Maine.

This was a very fun and cute read. I would definitely recommend this book if you are a fan of rom-coms or small town romances. Even if you love tacos, (or dessert tacos 😉) I would recommend this book.

Overall a cute story that takes place in small town Fantasie. Chloe is a newcomer and Lucas immediately falls head over heels. Their whole relationship is super rushed. The early part before Chloe and Lucas live together I actually hated how Lucas and Noah tried to “claim” Chloe, it kind of made me hate their characters. Both were redeemed as the book went on thankfully but it wasn’t a great start to the book for me.

I sincerely hope that Josie and Finn get their own story. They are actually my favorite characters.


I’m a little disappointed the famous Grandma DiMaggio never made an appearance! With all the threats and all the men fearing her I thought for sure we’d be introduced.

This book was not for me. I think the story was cute but I was way to spicy for my liking, which to be honest it kind of warns you about on the cover so that was my fault not the books fault.

and that's what im doing just now The story was sweet in paper but soon into the book i realize that it was too insta love a trope im not very into , i keep reading and apart from some laugh and chuckles the book was bland .i love little towns story but this was different , the whole town was in every one business , every one see to be sharing too much and it didn't feel like Chloe was a new in town , she was there for lest than 24 hours ans she was at a bar with a bff , and the next day? people where like lets give her money like she been there all alone . i guess the ideas was good but for me it didn't deliverer what i was hopping to be more concrete , it threw so much information on my face that . now Lily got a way of writing that is so easy and i read this so fast m cant believe is 400 pages long as it doesn't feel like it . maybe we get Josie story , that's someone that really got me interest going .

So glad to see LK back in the romance book world again. This was a fun, cute small town romantic comedy with quirky and unique characters. This book gave me giggles and hate/fun/all consuming chemistry. Yes, the title is quite punny, but the story goes with it. Chloe and Luca meet when she rolls into town in the ugly food truck, parking smack dab into Luca's spot. There is just something about her he can't shake. But as they spend more time together, its not all fussing and jabs. These two feel the pull but she's only in town temporarily right? The residents were so hospitable and ridiculously lovable. The family was so entertaining and I can't wait for the rest of the brothers books!!!!

This story follows Lucas and Chloe. Chloe has left her old life in New York in the rearview mirror, including an ex who left her feeling ignored, unappreciated and unloved. Our chef is starting over in a new place with a used food truck, intending to stand on her own two feet for the first time in years. She certainly has no intention of staying in Fantasie, the small town where she ends up in when her truck breaks down, or to fall for the surly lawyer whose parking spot she stole. Lucas is instantly attracted to Chloe, but convincing her to give him a chance and stick around is going to take some persistence.

I did not like Lucas much when the book began. He was a little too aggressive, possessive and lustful. Once the reader gets to know him a little more and see how generous and kind he is with everyone, he’s much easier to like. In Lucas’s case, it was definitely an insta-love vibe. I’d always rather have some build up when it comes to love, and that was the case with Chloe, who was much more cautious, careful not to make promises she wasn’t sure she could keep. There’s a whole cast of characters that were fun, including a Lucas’s very large extended family. The writing was decent, though I found the sex scenes awkward due to word choices. That’s my own personal hang up though.

The story kept moving the entire time and I didn't want to put this book down. I loved the friendships surrounding Chloe, and the small town feel of this book. Both Chloe and Lucas were well written and I loved Josie also. She needs her own book.

High recommend this book! Such a fun read.

In this standalone romance we meet chef Chloe who left behind a life in New York and has a food truck on her way to small town Fantasie. Once there she meets the close net community and the Donovan family. She decides to go to a autoshop but before she can get there she ends up parking in Lucas Donovan’s spot who is the towns resident lawyer and golden boy. He helps people in town even hiring a local boy with not much experience so he can help support his mother who is sick. Lucas and Chloe instantly clash and the more and more time they spend together the more they start to fall for each other. Chloe also meets Josie , a florist who instantly becomes her best friend and who she confines in about her ex who she has known since childhood and who she left New York because of. Chloe was co-owner of a restaurant with her ex but then he started changing things and eventually she had enough. Josie has feelings for the town chief of police who happens to be Lucas’s cousin. Lucas decides to help local Hannah get divorced from her husband who is a drunk and believes he owns her and her son. Hannah ends up having enough after he beats her and goes to stay with Lucas and Chloe in the mother-in-law suite that Chloe had been staying in but Hannah’s ex ends up kidnapping Chloe to try and get his son back and ends up getting arrested and shot at after Lucas and his cousin go to save her. Lucas and Chloe end up engaged at the end of the story. Chloe’s food truck, Taco Bout Love, is a taco stand with a twist, it’s dessert tacos with ice cream in it and everything.

I absolutely enjoyed this read and will definitely be keeping an eye out for the next in the series because I want more of these characters and time with this town. This is one of the best small town romances I have read, saying that as it's a trope I don't normally gravitate towards. I actually laughed out loud at some of the shenanigans they were up to. This is a story with a lot of heart. It was a decent balance of insta-lust but slow burn. I greatly appreciated the spicy scenes and how even though we had to wait, when they happened it was plentiful.

This was about a 4.5 star for me. What held me back from the full 5 is that I felt like the forces driving the heroine's choices and feelings got repetitive. There was also a slight twist in the end that without revealing too much spoiler turned it into a different kind of subgenre that didn't fit with the overall easygoing theme. I was a little bit disappointed that that's what it took for the heroine to finally get over her hesitations rather than from within.

Overall, absolutely worth the read. I can only hope Josie and Finn are next!

Taco Bout Love tells us the story of Lucas and Chloe with a dual first person pov, so we are able to enter the story through both of them.

The story takes place in Fantasie, Maine where Chloe is new.
She decides to open a taco truck there but gets in trouble when she parks in Lucas parking spot.
Since that incident, neither of them has been able to let go of each other.

Honestly, I liked this book but didn't love it.
I felt the romance was too fast-paced and that some of the characters were not developed.
I really enjoyed the town vibe and all the characters who lived there, especially Josie and her flowers.
I was disappointed when Chloe only got her truck at the end of the book, but loved the epilogue :)
Overall, this book was a cozy and fun journey, and if you like small town romances I do recommend it.

4.5 star read for me! I thought this was such a cute Rom-Com book. I loved the characters and the family relationships. Almost everyone in this town is related and at first Chloe seems a little out of place there but everyone is so welcoming to her and she is making a big impact on a certain man. A grumpy lawyer named Lucas who falls pretty fast for Chloe. The whole town pulls behind her to support her new adventure in making a food truck and they all want her to stay. The only thing I didn't care for was the drama with Hannah and Carl, but besides that this was a super cute read!

This was such a fun, cute rom-com with the perfect mix of small-town quirkiness, steam and heartfelt moments. I loved the friendships, love and community care that surrounded Chloe and her ambitions to follow her dreams and do something for herself. I also loved Lucas! I think he was the perfect book boyfriend, and I loved that he took the time to communicate his wants while also giving Chloe the space she needed. I thought that their love (and struggles/anxieties) were realistic; however, I wished that we had learned a bit more about him pre-Chloe. We learned about Chloe's ex but not any of Lucas', and that made me curious.

I felt that some things felt a bit rushed and repetitive (like how amazing Chloe was), but I appreciated the fast-paced and that it was a quick read.

I've been in a bit of a reading slump, and I think this was the perfect book for me to ease back into reading. I really can't wait for Josie's story, and I'm interested in reading more about the people of Fantasie.

This was a fun, fast-paced, and cute read perfect for rom-com, and small-town lovers.

An engaging rom-com about love, family, community and tacos. My first impression of Lucas was that he seemed very stalkerish. It was his love for Chloe that eventually made me love him. Luca's desire to fall in love with her was insta-lovey, and the fact that they had fallen in love within a few weeks was surprising. As a character, Chloe was annoying because she couldn't decide what she wanted to do. Why settle somewhere to start a business only to want to leave?

I did enjoy the small town vibe. I loved the side character Josie and would love to see a book about her. It was interesting to see the small town drama at the end, but it was unnecessary since there were no break-ups and reconciliations in the third act. I would have enjoyed it. While the book was about food, Chloe did not begin her food truck until the end, which I found disappointing.

What an adorable book! I'll admit at first I was a little skeptical, I mean c'mon, a town called Fantasie? But the main character, Chloe, also sharing my hesitancy helped me to let go then devour this book. I finished it in two days...and I have a toddler!

Note: a few spoilers below!

Chloe Brown coasts into town on complete fumes in a hunk of junk purple food truck looking for a new lease on life. Rolling into town she almost runs over the town psychic then is pulled over by the grumpy, attractive town sheriff, what a way to make an entrance. She’s saved by a charming woman who helps her avoid a ticket and quickly makes a friend who she promises to meet in town at "The Cow Tipper." This makes me laugh out loud, yet appeals to me and my Midwest bones. "The bar itself felt old school and cozy. If I pretended everyone had an accent, I could've believed I'd been transported to a little pub in Ireland where everyone knew everyone else. Exposed wood beams met overhead. The stone from around the fireplace spilled out to line one entire wall. All the wood on the counter and barstools was knotted and gleaming and a little mismatched." Who wouldn’t want to curl up here or grab a beer with friends??

Seeing her truly want to have her own independence and make something that is just for herself is refreshing, even if she did fall super quickly into Lucas Donovan's hunky arms. She begins to create a life in this town as the town folk wrap her in their warm crocheted creations and show her the love she hasn't known since her mother passed away. Coming off a disaster of a relationship, she craves to do things for herself, to find what she truly wants out of life. She slowly finds that what she wants is this cute cookie cutter town and all the family that comes with it.

Note: there are a few triggers of domestic violence in this book which one of the main characters helps another through.

Super cute, easy read, I highly recommend!

Check Trigger Warnings before reading this book. Let me preface this whole review by saying that I thought this book was cute. However, I do feel like it needed a lot of work. I was a little worried when I saw that the female main character was named Chloe Brown, just like Chloe Brown from Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. I thought this Chloe Brown was going to be a carbon copy of the other Chloe, but thankfully she was her own character. But that being said, neither Lucas nor Chloe felt like real people to me. Their love story felt very rushed. Chloe went from "hating" Lucas to wanting to be with him in what felt like a couple days, because there were time skips. To paraphrase, it would be telling the reader "Two weeks later, she was doing this" to show that their relationship was progressing rather than showing how it progressed from the dislike stage to the falling in love stage. It was also a little off-putting to me that anytime there was a spicy scene, Lucas and Chloe would either start out by talking about her ex or after the deed was done they were talking about her ex. It felt like the ex was some unseen partner in their relationship. But the book does have a sweet happy ending for the two of them. I also really liked how the small town of Fantasie, Maine rallied around Chloe, this person they basically don't know to help her get her feet on the ground and start up her food truck. The camaraderie of the townspeople was very sweet and cozy. To be honest I would have rathered read a book about the woman that has a farm and is the town florist, I'm forgetting her name right now, rather than Chloe and Lucas. She had way more personality to me.

My first touch with any of the author's titles, "Taco Bout love" has caught my attention yet in the title(I LOVE mexican food), and the subject doesn't leave nothing to desire. I truly appreciated th whole universe of Fatansie City, the Donovans' & Cia. The journey of Lucas e Chloe is a little bit like enemies to lovers(when the guy has always been into lovers haha) and it was super cool to follow up their evolution between the pages. The reading was compelling and esy to go on, and alsoI could finish the story pretty fast. I am extremely grateful to Netgalley for the ARC and I am looking forward to check the next book from all the other DiMaggios/Donovans stories. Well done!

Let me tell y’all about the custest most adorable rom-com!! I breezed through this book not wanting it to end. The book has dual point of view and loved being able to hear what each of the main characters were thinking.

Brief summary: Chloe is a “fancy chef” who has decided she wants to start making her own choices in life. She packs up what she has left and leaves her long term boyfriend since childhood and her life in New York to start over. Her new to her truck decides to die in a small town called Fantasie. We then meet Lucas who at first seems like a grumpy but full of himself guy. He falls head over heels in love with Chloe. the story follows these two characters through life and adventures in small town Fantasie.

I loved both Chloe and Lucas’ characters and thought they were both well written. The small town atmosphere was perfect. The book does include tacos and a little bit of spice.
