Entertaining murder mystery. An estate agency has a Malibu beach property to sell, with a huge commission for the agent who finds a buyer. The 5 agents all need the commission for different reasons and will go to any lengths to get the money. At the broker's view, a body is found dead in the pool, and the police investigation focuses on the agents. The plot progresses well, getting all the agents' backstories, and without revealing who has died in the pool until late in the book.

Another great story from author Lisa Gray. Somewhat different to previous books by the author but very enjoyable. Easy read that keeps you engaged and enthralled till the end

One million dollars. It’s all yours. All you have to do is sell a house. Every finish, every appliance, even the staging is top of the line. However, this luxurious mansion does not come with the body now floating in the swimming pool…..Is it now?

When David Sain; owner of Saint Realty, tells the five agents who work for his firm that the money prize will be theirs when the papers are signed, he knows there will be competition. He doesn’t know that each realtor, Andi, Myles, Hunter, Krystal and Verona, has secrets that they are not sharing. And those secrets will lead to violence and murder.

To Die For, told in the voices of the real estate agents and the detective investigating the crime weaves between the past and present. The plot is fast paced, complex and full of surprises leading to a conclusion you won’t see coming. I really enjoyed reading this. But I think the ending is kind of forced but other than that I really liked this book a lot

Five realtors in an LA area real estate office get the chance of a lifetime when their office gets the listing of a $50M property in Malibu. The broker will as the seller’s agent and wants one of the five realtors to bring in a buyer which will lead to a $1M commission. Of course this leads to cutthroat behavior and eventually a dead body in the pool at the house they are supposed to be selling. Who is dead and who killed them?

I really like this author, particularly her Jessica Shaw series. This was a stand-alone that I thought was not quite as good as the series but still pretty good. I like her writing style and find that I tear through her books in a day or two normally. This was an interesting premise and the chapters were told from various points of view both before and after the murder. We didn’t even know who died until past the halfway point. This one kept my interest throughout and I never got bored. Looking forward to her next novel.

To Die For by Lisa Gray was an exciting book.
And one I was very excited to read.
I was hooked right from the beginning and quickly made my way through the book.
A good plot and interesting characters made this thriller enjoyable.
This was my first book from this author, but it certainly won’t be my last!

This was quite an interesting read. I loved how cleverly the entire set up was built and how things started to make sense at a certain pace. The story was interesting enough to had me mum for good 5 mins, overall, I really enjoyed it

Thanks net galley for the arc. This book had an interesting premise and the characters were decently done. Over all I wasn't as pulled into this like the Jessica Shaw series by the same author.

I chose this book as I’m a fan of the Netflix show Selling Sunset, so the concept of glamorous Los Angeles real estate agents vying to win a million dollars in commission by selling a gorgeous house was beguiling.

To Die For throws the curveball of a murder (in a luxury swimming pool, no less) into the mix. But who committed it and why? We follow the tangled lives of realtors Andi, Hunter, Myles, Krystal and Verona, all grappling with their own personal problems, as they compete to win the cash.

The writing is enjoyable and speeds along, though I would have liked a little more characterisation. The twist is surprising and unexpected, but satisfying nonetheless. I wouldn’t say this book stands out in the genre, but it’s a good addition to it.

What an addicting murder-mystery! 𝑻𝒐 𝑫𝒊𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒓, with its well-developed cast of characters and intriguing plot, is a must read indeed! Through captivating prose, alternating POVs, and dual timelines, Gray has crafted an easily bingeworthy novel!

I loved how the narratives of all the characters were woven together, and each had their own flushed-out arc. The added narrative of detective Aribo was a nice touch, too! Definitely recommend this one!

𝑻𝒐 𝑫𝒊𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒓 hits shelves September 12, 2023!

How far would you go for a million dollars? That is the question faced by five Hollywood real estate agents when their boss tasks them with finding a buyer for a glitzy Malibu beach house. Each agent not only wants—but needs—the money, desperately. The competition grows ruthless as secrets come to light and old grudges take on new passion.

Oh the joy of watching five prominent real estate agents compete for a property worth a cool 50 million dollars, then throw in a corpse floating in a pool, followed by crowded crime scene and what we have is excellent fodder for the reader. This has it all, affairs, jealousy, the lives of the so called beautiful people and the desire to win shows us just how desperate we can become when we want something so valuable. Money really does bring out the worst in some people. I am not going to say anymore regarding the plot, I really think you should just go in blind and see where the book takes you.

When I read the blurb for this book I was not really expecting a lot but something said to me to take a chance and I am so glad I did. This is a very entertaining book which I then read in an afternoon as I was enjoying it so much. I highly recommend this if you need to pass a few hours and let the rest of the world go by, I do not think you will be disappointed. Again, this is a new author for me so I will have to go and have a look at her other work. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest unbiased review. 5 stars

This book is gooooooood! Sleek and stylish setting and characters, I found it a bit hard in the beginning to keep track of all the key players as the story is seen from 6 POV’s, but I got the hang of it midway through. This is a great story of competition, jealousy, revenge and a good old fashioned yet stylish murder!

I read this book over 2 sittings - I honestly couldn’t put it down. Each character was captivating with their own stories and secrets, some of which quite relatable despite it being about the rich residents of LA.

My first book from this author - won’t be my last!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the advanced readers copy of this 😊

This book kept me turning the pages cleverly using the storylines of the different characters and their potential motives to constantly question who I thought committed the deed. Loved the lux setting of prestigious homes and how the other half live. A cracking thriller and murder mystery.

I'd never read anything by Lisa Gray before, so reading this fast-paced thriller as my introduction to her work was an incredible experience. The suspense in the book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. This book was fantastic. Thank you NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for a copy of this book to read and voluntarily review.

This was a fun read, though the mystery element didn't really drive the plot for me. I enjoyed getting in the characters' heads and the real estate setting was fun, but the story came across implausible in a way that kept me from getting too invested in the outcome. That said, it was a nice middle ground between the light rom-coms and dark thrillers I usually read.

Realtors attempting to sell a 50 million dollar home with a body in the pool. Intrigue from the onset. Mystery and mayhem. I do not like the different chapters of the different characters, but the story does move quickly. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. The author is talented at writing a story that keeps the reader guessing. The California setting adds to the novel. This would make a good movie or television series.

Going, going, gone...
Well, hold on ...it's not quite sold, not quite yet!
I have lived across the street from a similar house but it didn't sell for a million.
Toxic relationships do happen, sometimes suicide/depression are the answer however, in some cases homicide becomes reality.
Sell a house, earn a cool mill, and fade off into the sunset of this Malibu beauty.
But, would it sell if a crime occurred on the premise? How about a murder? Is it truly known as the 'Murder house' now?
My word, wth is going on. It seems there's a lot of angst among realtors to get the quick sell these days and earn that commission.
I mean what happens when a body is located floating in the pool of your beautiful estate?
What happens if there's a whole back story to each and every troubled character?
The flaws are plentiful, the affairs are flaming, the emotions are about to hit rock bottom.
You know there's so many beautiful estates in Malibu. The lanscaping is lovely. The houses are mansions. The rooms filled with exquisite furniture, stunning artwork, and lovely artifacts that hold so much sentimental value if not operations value.
WOW! But sometimes we must remember not everything that shines is gold. Fool's gold does exist!

One million dollars. It’s all yours. All you have to do is sell a house. Yes, that’s right. One house. And what a house it is. Oceanfront in Malibu. Every finish, every appliance, even the staging is top of the line. However, this luxurious mansion does not come with the body now floating in the swimming pool.

When David, owner of Saint Realty, tells the five agents who work for his firm that the money prize will be theirs when the papers are signed, he knows there will be competition. He doesn’t know that each realtor, Andi, Myles, Hunter, Krystal and Verona, has secrets that they are not sharing. And those secrets will lead to cruelty, violence and murder.

Those secrets will also lead to a surefire bestseller! To Die For, told in the voices of the real estate agents and the detective investigating the crime weaves between the past and present. The plot is fast paced, complex and full of surprises leading to a conclusion you won’t see coming. 5 stars.

Five Hollywood estate agents are tasked with finding a buyer for a $50 million house, which is "To Die For".
Every one of them is competitive, and every one of them needs the commission of $1 million.

There is an open house, and a body is found in the pool, and each of the agents are regarded as suspects.

I never thought I would enjoy this thriller. I thought it would be one of those glitzy everybody is rich and beautiful and perfect books. But I did enjoy it, it grabbed me from the beginning and kept me engaged. Yes, it is one of those novels where every woman is stunning, and has designer bags or clothing, but the rivalry between the estate agents, and the dirty tricks they pull had me glued to reading the book.
The characters are all described very well, and I can sympathize with some of the situations that they are going through.
So, if you like to read about the glamour of Hollywood, you will enjoy this murder mystery. I do recommend it.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this book
