I loved the premise of this story; a single dad trying to figure out parenthood whilst potentially starting something new (romantically).

It just didn’t deliver. The characters felt super one dimensional and didn’t have much depth. There was also no REAL romance and honestly, Rowan needs deep deep deep therapy before he gets into a relationship. Sure, there’s mountains of anxiety that come with being a single father but the negative self talk was getting a bit tew much for a contemporary novel. I just didn’t like him as a character. At all.

There were so many words to say very little and unfortunately, I couldn’t vibe with it.

I had a hard time rating this book. 2 stars seemed too harsh since I did enjoy some main themes but 3 seemed too generous considering I had to take a break from reading it because I got annoyed.
Realistically it's 2.5 from me but I didn't want to mess up my Canva template [on instagram] lol

Things Loved:
• the small town setting
• diverse characters
• a realistic portrayal of the difficulties of parenthood

Things I didn't love:
• so much inner monologue
• excessive amount of mutual pining right off the bat making the overall read exhausting and cringy at times
• extreme feelings/relationship moved too fast for my liking

A story in which the ghosts of the past are present, and these affect the relationships and the behavior of the characters. It was good to feel in this book the growth of both Rowan and Delilah. Since in a large part of the books, the man as the "hero" always seems to be more present, i felt like in this case the insecurities were explored in a very interesting way. The insecurities of a man, who is a father and who has many obstacles to break down and fears to face. To add to all of this there is still a love story, which is not easy, which has its ups and downs but, with great gestures of love, also with small demonstrations that sometimes also manage to be worth much more and with proof that it's worth taking a risk.

This was a very cute read! Delilah and Rowan were adorable and their character development throughout the book was very well-done. I really liked how the author focused on Rowan’s life as a new father as well. That was really great to see in a romance book!

First of all let‘s talk about how much I enjoyed the authors writing. It was so easy to follow and made the book a quick and adorable read. It‘s a dual POV from both main characters in the book and honestly I think that was the perfect choice for this story in particular.
Finally a romance book where the couple isn‘t toxic even in the slightest. I enjoyed reading about their romance, their fears and all that. It‘s a romance book but it also talks about fatherhood, lack of good parents growing up, family issues and even more. I recommend it to everyone who loves a good, cute and quick romance.

For a book with such a cute cover and title, it didn’t completely live up to my expectations. While I still enjoyed the story and the cast of characters throughout the book, overall I just wanted a bit more. I never got fully invested in the plot or the characters in the way I would have liked to.

Single Dads Club follows Rowan and Delilah. Rowan is dealing with the anxieties of being a single father and Delilah is an ex-heiress. She is also dealing with her mother's arrest Right from the beginning, Rowan and Delilah really like each other and I do enjoy a mutual pining. Sometimes, I felt like they did not spend enough time for them feeling so deeply about each other. However, I did like the descriptions of their feelings. Rowan is more introverted because of his upbringing and I love the moments of Delilah reaching out. Since Rowan does not express himself much to other people, his inner thoughts kinda took me out when he would talk about what he wants to do to Delilah or describe her. As the story continues, Delilah introduces Rowan to her brother, Matt and this is where the single dad club begins. I wanted more moments between Rowan and the rest of the men. The book also explores the impact parents have on their children. It was really nice to acknowledge that some people were not meant to have children. I really enjoy reading from Delilah's point of view. She just felt so sweet and understanding. I loved that she finally had certain hard conversations and finally eased up on herself. Finally, I just love the depiction of community. The book just showed how nice to see Rowan growing to appreciate everyone's effort and finally accepting people's help. This book also has a grand gesture, and I do not typically enjoy those gestures but it was not as bad.

A cute and sweet happily ever after story of a single dad and a fallen heiress. Super light read, and a refreshing and new look at romance in the 21st century where there are single fathers who are also huge participants in their children’s lives. Much of the book revolves around self growth, and realization that you don’t have to be a product of your environment and your parents mistakes don’t have to define you, or your choices as you become an adult.

Delilah is an ex-heiress with a terrible upbringing who is now a waitress at a cafe in Sugarbush Bay, she is determined to wrong the rights of her past and prove she is a good person. Rowan is a single father who recently moved to Sugarbush Bay and determined to give his child everything he didn't have.

One day Rowan walks into the cafe Delilah is working at, Delilah is determined to make Rowan a part of the community in Sugarbush Bay.

This is my first Therese Beharrie book and it did not disappoint! Also may I add what a stunning cover!? I really enjoyed the character arc for both Delilah and Rowan, they both had past trauma they needed to work through and Beharrie did a wonderful job of that. I have also never read a book from the male perspective of a single father and the struggles faced when raising a child.

In this warmly funny romance about finding your way, opposites attract when an ex-heiress and a single dad cross paths, only to find that their separate roads may lead them to the same destination. Wonderfully-developed characters with depth and substance. I was immediately drawn in and held captive from beginning to end.

An adorable read that I could not put down!

It was a very short and quick read but I devoured it!

The chemistry of the two main leads was out of the roof and I loved how healthy their relationship was compared to other romance books.

The premise of the book was what drew me to the story and I was not disappointed.

South Africa, as a book location is very interesting and I would love to read more more with the country as the setting!

Rowan is new parent, he worry about everything, worry not doing best for Declan his son. He meets Delilah, first meet Dellilah always have eye on him, the tension already build there. One event lead Rowan to meet Delilah brother Matt. From there Matt introduce Rowan to Single dad club, there share about parenting sometime helping Rowan taking care his son. its not easy for Rowan to socialize, he is an introvert, quite one. The struggle was real, its not easy to get out of comfort zone, dont know what to speak without hurt each other feeling, feeling of rejection, not comfortable get attention, trauma in childhood really affect here. Relationship between Rowan and Dellilah was sweet, they adore each other.

A gorgeous and tender story about finding love in yourself and extending that love to others. This book was so special!! Rowan and Delilah were such wonderfully adorable characters who paralleled each other in their traumatic pasts and need to grow. I loved Rowan’s struggle to figuring out how to ask for help and trust his support system. I also loved Delilah’s journey towards balance between selflessness and self sacrifice. Incredible book!!

I loved this story! Delilah and Rowan and two people who were damaged emotionally by their parents. I love seeing them work through it and fall in love together!

I loved the characters in this one ex heiress an single dad, it was a sweet romantic story. I loved the cover and this is why i wanted to read this book. It shows the struggles he has as a single dad I thought he wasn’t going to find someone for him but he has. There was a lot of cute lines in the book that I loved.

This was such a sweet book,i loved the whole character develop through the book and that the author showed how he struggles as a single dad. Delilah and rowan really deserve each other but what i hated was that she already had a crush on him at the beginning,i wished she would’ve realized her feeling for him through the book.

4.5/5 stars! I really really really enjoyed this story. Rowan matured and took on responsibilities as a single father and Delilah gives off such a sweet and engaging energy. For an ex-heiress, she sure does manage to fulfill that small-town warmth we often read about. This book reminded me slightly of the Kevin Hart movie "Fatherhood". The author did an exceptional job of showcasing the hurdles and rewards of parenthood, especially when you're doing it on your own.

DNF at 46%. too instalove-y with minimal development. the book started with her already having a crush on him and the actual feelings seemed to pop up out of nowhere? didn’t really care about the characters that much. and some of the inner monologue was very repetitive. i was starved for a single dad romance but this just didn’t do it for me.

Single Dads Club follows Rowan, a newly single dad who is learning to navigate his new role and his new life in South Africa, and Delilah, an ex-heiress and current waitress trying to build a better life for herself. Rowan frequents the café Delilah works at, and she begins to look forward to seeing him, while he barely notices her in the chaos of parenthood. As they become closer, he needs to work out if love is something he can open himself up to.
Beharrie does a wonderful job at respectfully addressing many different aspects of early parenthood, such as the impacts on sleep, stress, and sex drive. Rowan’s character feels fleshed out and real and Deliah is such a sweet character who offers unconditional love and support. I was really rooting for Rowan to sort out everything and for them to be together.

This book is a slow burn romance centred around finding what family means, and what is and isn’t important. It’s an enjoyable and relaxing read.

Slow burn, small town romance. This book is a little too slow for my liking, but once it got started I couldn’t put it down. Normally I am not a fan of books written in third person POV but this book kept me engaged and wanting to follow Rowan and Delilah’s story. Both characters grew so much throughout this book. My heart chipped when Rowan put aside his fears for Delilah. “That’s point,” he whispered back. “I love you more than I hate this.”
I also would like to know more about Delilah’s brother, Matt. Does he find someone?
