Not sure for what age range this is intended. While, I love teaching persistence, many of the words were too complex for the age which the illustrations seemed to be intended, maybe 3-5? Thanks to NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Lauren, a cow, wants to be able to jump. A thing that cows never do before. But she insisted. This is a story about dreams, perseverance and goals, some things to encourage the kids about. A good book with great illustration.

This is the story of a calf of cow, actually, named Lauren. She tries hard to jump. She likes it and it is her only goal to become a jumping cow. She tried but not getting anywhere better, still jumping. But at last when she had been motivated to it she didn't just crossed fence by her jump but with that leap she started flying.

One can be metaphorical in a sense to represent realistic approach but you can't inspire humans with such illogical and baseless outcomes. This seems more to be inspired from biblical stories rather than moral science for real.

Pretty book sowing doubt into the idea that the cow jumped over the moon – Lauren thinks she's a pioneer at the art of jumping, and gets stuck at one particular hurdle time after time. So this is a story showing persistence, friendship from the other animals goading her on and advising her, and in the end doing what we think it will do from an early stage – riff off that particular line I mentioned earlier. And I don't know that it does that particularly well, with some rampant illogicality to close things, but whenever it's doing anything it's doing it very cutely. I don't think it's four stars, so three and a half with a leap and a bound it is.

The illustrations in this book are SO adorable and I love that the cow was specified to be a Jersey cow. The story is very cute and it was a fun surprise that Lauren is the cow that jumped over the moon! I think my little cousins would love to read this book and it's a cute story for adults too.

I’m sure the kids are going to be just as enthralled with this amazing book as I was.
I will definitely recommend!

Lauren the Cow is a cute book about how the Cow Jumped Over the Moon. Lauren is a jersey calf who wants to do something different. She tells her mother that she wants to learn how to jump. Off she goes and meets Tim the Fox. Tim asks her what she is doing and when she tells him she wants to be a jumping cow, he offers to help her. He encourages her, helps her to gradually jump higher and praises her attempts. Other animals come and watch and with determination and hard work, she eventually jumps over the fence. She keeps trying to jump higher until she realizes that she is flying. When she excitedly tells her mother, her mother responds that cows don't jump, they fly. That is how the cow ended up jumping over the moon. This was a fun story about not giving up, practice makes perfect, friendship, encouraging others and following your dreams. Of course we ended up reciting, Hey Diddle Diddle several times as well. The illustrations were cute and added to the story, giving picture clues so my granddaughter could read parts of this book to me. A cute book that would be a great addition to early years classrooms, as well as family, school or public libraries.

This is a great story about overcoming obstacles and having help along the way. Lauren the Cow wants to learn how to jump, and although her mom doesn't seem to be supportive at first, Lauren gets help from her friend the fox. The farm animals cheer her on and in the end, her mom is there with her. The illustrations are also adorable. This is a wonderful short book for early elementary aged kids which teaches them determination, practice and accepting help from others to reach our goals.

Not only does this book have the best illustrations, but it tells a great story! The expressions and bright tones in this book make it so fun for kids to read.

The lesson to believe in yourself and to continue to work towards your goal is told in a fun way by also tying in the nursery rhyme of cows jumping over the moon.

The language in this book make it easier for my 6 year old to read and I appreciated that as well.

This was mostly a cute story, although a little unbelievable at times. At first I thought, oh, this is about perseverance. I thought it was about believing in yourself and not giving up. And it is - but also it ties in the old nursery rhyme about cows jumping over the moon.

The story was ok, same with the imagery.

The illustrations were really great. The book was really good and taught a good lesson. Never give up on your dreams no matter how far out of reach they may seem and always listen to your mama.
Thank you for the arc.

A cute aspiring jumping calf. Lauren wants to be a jumping cow when she gets older and realizes the more she trains and tries the closer she will be at reaching her goal! Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!

Ever wonder what would happen if a cow decided that she wanted to jump? Read this sweet little story with an encouraging message to find out.

In this short but upbeat story, Lauren, the Cow, decides that she wants to learn to jump. After some initial disappointments she learns that she might just be able to do so after all. In my opinion one the highlights of this book is that Lauren receives support and encouragement from many of her fellow farm/forest friends.

The illustrations in this book are beautiful, detailed, and use bright colors that appeal to the young audience that this book is intended to reach.

This is a fun read and it looks like there may be more to come for our friend, Lauren!

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This was an adorable story about how cows can jump over the moon. Lauren the cow is quite young and determined to become a jumping cow even though her mother tells her cows don't jump. She trains and trains working her way up to jumping over a fence, being cheered on by all the animals nearby. But jumping over the fence once just isn't enough for Lauren. She does it over and over again until...

The illustrations in this book were bold and colorful. I could see them being used for a coloring book as well with their large shapes. I could easily read this book a few times before I tired of it and didn't want to read it anymore. Overall I give this book 4.37 out of 5 stars.

Lauren the Cow tells the story of a determined young calf, set on jumping over the moon. We watch as she trains from small obstacles to larger ones, to eventually being able to fly in the sky around the moon. At this point we also learn that /all/ cows can fly. The end for now.
The ending to me was disappointing. Sure it was a cue revelation- but why didn't mom cow just say that from the beginning? I wish instead Lauren's determination to set out and do this thing that she wanted to would have inspired mom cow to also try and join her. It makes such a wonderful and triumphant story of "look what you can do if only you put your mind to it!" into "lol actually you could always do it". Just took the magic out of it. Especially "the end... for now", really ruined the whole books vibe
