The Rebel Girls brand is growing and the latest book in Rebel Girls Rock is a delightful addition. From Dolly Parton to Queen Latifah, it highlights women of different ages, nationalities and creeds who have made it in the world of music. It sends a lovely message to its readers and even has a section at the back about how to highlight yourself as a Rebel Girl with activities and fun things to try. Thanks to Netgalley and the authors and publishers for a temporary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Another great addition to the Rebel Girls collection! It was so wonderful to learn about some new women in an educational but interesting way. Dolly Parton was absolutely my favorite!

Another great collection of stories about extraordinary women- this time, those in the field of music. As always, I enjoyed learning about these women, some I was familiar with and some that I was not. I look forward to reading more Rebel Girls books in the future. Fans of the other Rebel Girls books, as well as readers that enjoy brief biographies, will enjoy this one.

‘Rebel Girls Rock’ is a NonFiction illustrated book that beautifully highlights numerous influential women in the music industry. The book also creates a space for the reader to write their own story, and gives detailed tips on how to make your own music.

I really enjoyed reading this. I learnt about so many new artists, musicians, DJs, and producers that I hadn’t heard of before, many of which I will be binge-listening to their music and researching further.

Personally I prefer the Rebel Girl books that focus on the story of one particular woman, however this is a great collection of stories of women who made it in the music industry. The diversity in the choices was great and some I had never heard of before. As always illustrated and a beautiful layout.

The thing I love about the Rebel Girls series is how many new people I discover - alongside older artists I might not know as much about. The series is very US-based so for example, this book has Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre). Each artist has a page devoted to them - one with information and facts, the other with a picture.

I think it's a great way to open the minds of younger readers, possibly even early teens too. My daughter hates me showing her my music, but actually quite likes it if she's in the right mood. If she had this book alongside what she's listening to it could make a difference.

I found it easy to follow as a book - I'm recovering from a brain injury so have to choose my books correctly. The text was fine and I learnt facts about artists that I didn't know about them.

If your taste in music is on the quirky side, this could be the book for you to introduce your young ones to the people who created it. I love Rebel Girls books and yet again this one doesn't disappoint.

Love this whole series and reading it with my daughter (we read one page every night before bed). I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

Another fantastic addition to the Rebel Girls series! Like the previous books I've read, this one is incredibly powerful and inspiring. I still hold the same opinion - it's a wonderful approach to connect with people of different genders, ages, upbringings, and opportunities worldwide, and inspire them to pursue their dreams.

It's a quick and easy read, perfect for flipping through whenever you have 5 minutes to spare. It would be better to read it in short bursts rather than cover to cover, as the stories can blend together otherwise. Taking time to reflect after each unique story allows for deeper contemplation. It would also make for a great coffee table book, adding a touch of inspiration to any living space.

These Rebel books never disappoint! With the Education laws cutting down the hours for artistic development (at least in my country), it's good to have books such as this one to keep students engaged and to see how it's important to keep trying, chasing what they like and enjoy doing. Perseverance is a trait that needs nurturing. I loved that this book has both current and more historical musicians! Can't wait to read it with my students.

I will never not adore this series! I absolutely LOVE that Rebel Girls highlights incredible women too inspire young readers. They do a fantastic job with choosing a variety of women of different backgrounds and ethnicities. They don't just focus on white American women, which I believe is important for girls all over the world to see themselves reflected in these inspirational women.

Thank you to netgalley, the author and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange fot an honest review.

This is no different from the other Rebel Girl books in the way it is colorful, inspiring, and empowering, and even though I’m not exactly its target reader, I felt the message of the stories in this book deep in my heart and I wouldn’t hesitate to gift a copy of this to any young readers I know. I liked that it tried its best to showcase women of different ages, ethnicities, nationalities, and advocacy, and that the stories were written in simple language yet with great effect. All the accompanying art is gorgeous, and I thought each one represented the featured individuals well. I was so happy when I found Blackpink, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift featured in the book!

My eight-year-old daughter and I have read many Rebel Girls books and like the others, this one was great! The stories are always inspiring and we love the fun, colorful illustrations. This book was a fabulous mix of female musicians from both today and in the past. My daughter was excited to see faces she knew (like Olivia Rodrigo) and I enjoyed learning about some women who I hadn't heard much about in the past.

Rebel Girls Rock is a fantastic read for any young person interested in music. Readers can learn about famous rockers, musicians and singers who broke barriers and showed the world what women can do.

The Rebel Girls books are always winners, with bright graphics and just enough information on each page to peak the interest of readers. Learning a little about each person is fun, and might encourage kids to research and learn more about one of the many women featured in this book.

Thanks to Netgalley for the advance copy of this book.

i love this series of books and what they are doing.
i think it’s wonderful that an entire series of different books focusing on different achievements targeted towards kids!

especially with topics like this -artistic ones- which sometimes get pushed aside as something not as important or something to focus on as much as for example school topics.

k always love seeing books that show kids with all kinds of different talents that what ever they are good at there have been people similar to them and they managed to do well for them.

a great addition to the overall series of books and a fantastic book on its own as well.

Rebel Girls are always a great read and this addition is no exception. Covering a good selection of female artists, this should appeal to students KS2 and above.
