Sarah Kieffer is at it again. Her bakes are so good and I love that she isn't afraid to include the same recipe in multiple places when it feels right. Her books are so gorgeous and delicious!

100 Morning Treats is a great cookbook from beginners to more experienced bakers. The author has great baking advice and tips, including substitutions that can be made. There are wonderful accompanying photos and each dish has either a story, a tip or words of encouragement before the meat of the recipe.

Listed below are the separate sections, with some of the standout recipes.

1 Muffins, Scones, and Quick Breads: Almond Poppyseed Muffins; Maple Oatmeal Scones; Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Bread

2. Coffee Cakes and Bundt Cakes: Simple Citrus Breakfast Cake; Tiramisu Bundt Cake

3. Sweet Yeasted and Fried Treats: Orange Buns; Apple Cider Crullers

4. Laminated Pastries: Almond Croissants

5. The Weekend: Cinnamon Swirl French Toast; Individual Quiche Bakes

6. Base Dough and Breads: Milk Bread Dough

7. Extras: Lemon Curd, Pastry Cream; Almond Cream

This is not an extremely big cookbook, but this is actual a positive. It is manageable for beginners and the different flavor profiles for homemade favorites will entice experienced bakers to try new things. The author does a good job of describing and demonstrating step-by-step techniques for certain recipes, with photos when needed. 100 Morning Treats will be a go-to for readers looking to have different breakfasts.

A fantastic book full of sweet and savory recipes. I love the array of recipes contained in this cookbook. The photos are beautiful, and I appreciate the addition of step by step photos for some of the recipes.

Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy!

Do not read this when you’re hungry, unless that’s when you do your best baking. Chapter one is muffins, scones, and quick breads. Followed by cakes, coffee and bundt types. Then we have yeasty treats, sweet and fried. After that we have laminated treats and treats for the weekend. Chapter 6 is base doughs for your baking treats, and chapter 7 is about the extras. These look like great weekend treats. Definitely for the baker who might want to try something morning based or someone who like to bake on the weekends. She provides measurements both cups and weights, including that is something I don’t usually see in American cookbooks and I find that helpful. She also gives alternates for some of the fillings, especially the fruit treats.

I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
The book is full of baked goods, so the recipes are not for beginners.

If you love baking and if you love baking breakfast treats this is the cookbook to add to your collection. Author Sarah Kieffer has put together some of the most mouth watering treats you can imagine. Whether your favorite is muffins, coffee cakes, bundt cakes or danish she has something for you and probably a few things you had not thought about either. There are beautiful pictures of all the finished products which I always like. There's a glossary of terms because there could be a few things you aren't familiar with. So if you like baking as much as I do you need this book on your shelf.

If you can’t find something delightful to make in this book, you aren’t looking hard enough. Are they all simple recipes? No. There are some complex recipes , with easy to follow directions. The ingredients aren’t complicated but they make exquisite dishes.

This book has excellent instructions, delicious sounding recipes, and beautiful and helpful illustrations. I learned several useful tips to use in the kitchen while baking. I will say this is probably more for intermediate to advanced bakers, as some of the recipes seem complicated.

Not back of the sugar bag recipes!

You know the warm, cozy feeling you get when you walk into a corner bakery and smell the butter, sugar, and yeasty dough? That’s the way I felt when I started reading this cookbook. These are not recipes you’ll find on the back of a sugar bag, these are prime-time morning masterpieces. Some are straightforward, but most have a sizable list of ingredients (though none aren’t typical of baking recipes), and many have multiple steps and take quite a bit of time. This isn’t ideal for someone who hasn’t already baked from scratch (unless they are ready to dive in headfirst), but for anyone who loves to bake, this is a gem!

I made the kolaches straight away as they are a favorite of my dad, and they were fantastic! Soft, pillowy dough, buttery and just a little sweet, the perfect vehicle for the sweetened cream cheese filling, raspberry jam, and posipka (streusel topping). So delicious they were addictive! My only criticism of the book is that there is no estimate of how much time a recipe takes start to finish. The kolaches took the better part of a full Saturday; still well worth it and I know I’ll make them again, but just a warning to closely read your recipe before starting, especially if you have a specific time frame in mind. But, if you enjoy the whole process of baking and want to make some bakery worthy treats, this book is a winner.

This is one of my favorite cook books now. There are a large variety of recipes without including bizarre ingredients like some other collections. The recipes were easy to follow and fun to cook. Most importantly everything was wildly delicious!

Breakfast is my family's favorite meal. I love this cookbook. It is more than a cookbook, it is an adventure in food pleasure. The recipes are easy to follow. Each is a delight to eat, although, I must confess that I have not made all of them yet. However, it is my goal to enjoy all this book has to offer. To sum it up in one word...YUM!

Anyone who loves to serve mouthwatering brunches to family and friends will want to immediately pick up a copy of popular blogger, Sarah Kieffer’s baking book, 100 Morning Treats: With Muffins, Rolls, Biscuits, Sweet and Savory Breakfast Breads, and More. This excellent cookbook includes dozens of fabulous baked treats to serve at breakfast, brunch, or for dessert.

This well-written cookbook has helpful hints at the beginning of each recipe, and the recipes are written in the traditional manner with a list of ingredients followed by step-by-step instructions. And while the recipes are mostly not quick and easy, they are definitely doable for both beginning and advanced cooks.
Basic doughs are included, which are used to make many of the fabulous baked goods such as morning buns (delicious, and made with Cheater Croissant Dough), Kouignettes, Cruffins, Blackberry Puff Pastry Tartlets, and Brioche Bagels. The book also includes several unique and fancy cakes such as White Chocolate and Fig Pound Cake, Marble Bundt Cake, Chocolate Pudding Bundt Cake, and Tiramisu Bundt Cake. There are also muffins, loaf breads, scones, and popovers, all which go with breakfast and brunch main dishes. While most of the offerings are sweet, there are also savory bakes, such as Prosciutto Gruyère Croissants, and sheet pan breakfast.

There are beautiful, professional photographs of almost every recipe, which makes it almost impossible to decide which mouthwatering recipe to make next.

All told, this is an excellent cookbook and will make an excellent addition to any cookbook collection. Bakers will use it often.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

Breakfast is my favorite meal and this book didn't disappoint! The book has many nice pictures which is always a plus when it comes to cookbooks. The recipes are clearly written and contain weight measurements for precise baking. The following chapters are included in the book:

1. Muffins, Scones, and Quick Breads

2. Coffee Cakes and Bundt Cakes

3. Sweet Yeasted and Fried Treats

4. Laminated Pastries

5. The Weekend

6. Base Doughs and Breads

Every recipe I tested turned out great and my family was very happy with all the yummy treats. This would be a great addition to any baker's cookbook collection, even the beginning baker. I am planning on purchasing a copy for my library.

Mrs. Kieffer’s book 100 Morning Treats is a tasty invitation to enjoy breakfast. She doesn’t just dump recipes in your lap, and hope you have the skills to pull them off. She gives you the tools, including explaining how to measure the ingredients, and explaining how an oven can make all the difference. I will be using this for my daughter who wants to be a baker someday, and I look forward to trying the Sheet Pan Danishes, and Peanut Butter Granola Bark. I’m not much for cooking breakfast, and usually reach for the easy meals, but this is an inspiration on paper.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to review this advance reader copy.

I’m a huge fan of Sarah Kieffer, so when she posted a photo of her creamy jammy coffee cakes with the caption that this is one of her favorite recipes in her new book, I quickly ordered the 4” cake tins. This recipe is PERFECT. The first bite was so delightful—a combination of crumbly streusel, a tart jammy layer, and some creamy cheesecake filling all sitting atop a moist luscious cake. These coffee cakes will be a staple in my house and shared with friends.

Sarah’s book is beautifully photographed and offers many fun recipes to try. I am looking forward to baking the chocolate pudding Bundt cake and the raspberry caramel bubble bread next. You will even find a sunny yellow ric rac book mark to hold your place. This book is a must buy!

Thank you to Net Galley and Chronicle Books for the ARC. I am so happy to have my own copy now.

100 Morning Treats is another beautiful book by Sarah Kieffer, one of my favorite cookbook authors and bloggers. I plan to bake my way through the entire book! I was most looking forward to the Buttermilk Cinnamon Rolls, but all of the recipes are calling my name. It’s a must-have book for anyone that loves to start their day with delicious, homemade baked goods.

Thank you to Chronicle Books and NetGalley for this ARC.

Great cookbook for someone who has a sweet tooth. There are a lot of great pastry recipes with mouthwatering images. I liked the layout and the style of the book. It would stand out more in print than as an ebook.

I read/reviewed (and loved) Kieffer's [book:Baking for the Holidays: 50+ Treats for a Festive Season|56756035] when it came out back in December 2021, so was particularly excited to read/review _100 Morning Treats_ as well.

Just as with _Baking for the Holidays_, this cookbook is beautifully presented and photographed. The recipes are clear and easy to follow, and don't include (too many :D) hard-to-find ingredients, and I'd be particularly glad to try a number of the muffins and scones--here's looking at you, Maple Oatmeal Scones! (I like to think I must be Canadian, I love maple-flavored things so much.)

I'll admit that I probably wouldn't try actually making most of the recipes for breakfast--in the morning, anyway. Many are a bit more effort than I'm willing to expend pre-food; I need food to make food? LOL! But, they'd be well worth the effort for a brunch or making ahead over the weekend. And, my own dietary needs preclude making much in the way of yeasted products ... but man, do they look good. (Someone please try them and let me live vicariously through you!) So, it's a bummer to miss out on a whole section of the book--but that's on me, not the author. :) There are still plenty of other recipes I'd certainly enjoy.

3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
