Prior to reading this I was utterly disappointed with the last ARC I read , that being said I had a completely different experience with Shari Lapena’s book, Someone Here is Lying. Someone Here is Lying grabs you attention immediately. Within the first chapter before you expect it she hits you with a bang . I can honestly I was so engrossed, I didn’t do any chores the day I read this book so much so that I read it in one sitting. The book starts out with two people in a hotel room , one whom is a reputable physician who works at a local hospital named William. He is a married has two children , a 9 year old girl and an adolescent boy . The other is a married woman who is a volunteer at the hospital in which William is employed as a physician. Her name is Nora , she is also married with two children of her own . The very next scene in the book is enticingly captivating, it involves William and his 9 years old daughter and the aftermath of what happens after their interaction. Everyone Here is Lying is a fast-paced, suspenseful thriller with a sinister twist . This has been my favorite by this author thus far . There is a reason I didn’t give it a five star , however it perhaps can be seen as a spoiler if I divulge too much of why I didn’t and with this one is best to go in blindly. Thank you to NetGallery and to Penguin Random House for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest unbiased review. |

I am beyond excited for the opportunity to review this domestic thriller that starts out with a bang, not afraid of a cliche here! This is Shari Lapena at her finest! |

Another hit from Shari! A compelling thriller about a missing girl with suspenseful twists that even the most seasoned thriller reader won't see coming. A quick, perfect for summer,. read! |

Another goody by Lapena! The title is incredibly appropriate, since this is the story of endless lies, manipulation and twists. Avery at 9 is missing, and much of the book deals with the search for the child. Much like “The Bad Seed” this little girl is nothing that could be expected. I enjoyed the book as it moved quickly between lies and potential villains. Little Avery, at 9, is a complex character. The adults are puppets as her disappearance unravels households. Yes, those of us who have enjoyed Lapena’s earlier books will love this one. Thank you Netgalley for this ARC. |

I was worried, at first, this was too similar to Shari Lapena's other books. This book was so different than I was expecting. I love the smooth writing, we transition from a person's point of view and chapter, seamlessly. This book could be enjoyed quickly by anyone. I could use this for a classroom book in high schools but the domestic violence in the book would trigger students. For the publisher's best interest, consider adding a content warning in the beginning of the book. This would make a great book for book clubs, if there were general questions to discuss at the end of the book, this would be preferred. Lastly, this book would be great as a special edition, with an alternative ending by Shari, if she ever considers. Thank you for allowing me to read this book early, to start a journey! |

Shari LaPena is an auto-buy for me. Her books are ALWAYS solid mystery-thrillers that have me guessing until the big reveal. Everyone Here is Lying is no different. The story follows a young girl who's gone missing, and of course, everyone on the block looks suspicious. Everyone has a motive. And everyone has a secret. Another fantastic read by LaPena! |

Shari Lapena did it again! First of all....I love every single book of hers. With this one Avery is a brat lets just call it what it is. She is a troubled girl whose father William is a respected Doctor who is having an affair. William and his wife Erin dont know what to do with Avery and William has resorted to hitting Avery. Nora is the woman, a neighbor who William is having an affair with. Nor brakes up with William and William goes home and encounters Avery who is home unexpectedly. William hits Avery and then she disappears. There are alot of neighbors who are questioned and have their own reasons that they look suspicious. There is an anonymous call in to to report that Noras son was seen picking Avery up the day she came up missing. So who was it? Someone on the street? Someone who was trying to get revenge? Will Avery come back? Im trying really hard not to give it away. But the ending is so good and it all comes out in the end...or does it? |

William Wooler is a reputable physician who works at a local hospital. He is a family man who has a gorgeous wife and two children. He also has an affair with a volunteer at the same hospital where he works. When things turn sour, he heads home and finds his daughter, Avery, at the house where she should not be. A heated altercation transpires, and William flees from the house. Avery goes missing, and his family and the entire small town are now under suspicion. This book reminds me why I thoroughly enjoy reading Shari Lapena's books. Her writing is brilliantly suspenseful, with twists that will make you second-guess everything until the last page. Everyone Here is Lying is a fast-paced, suspenseful story with a dark, disturbing twist and personally my favorite by hers by far. I was so engrossed in the book, and it was easy to think everyone was a suspect at some point. Lapena was so good at picking apart their flaws that it was believable that it could have been anyone in that small town that took Avery. The switch between the different perspectives was smooth, and I could feel each character’s manipulative nature throughout the pages. The ending was shocking but perfect. I could not ask for a better conclusion. Thank you to NetGallery and to Penguin Random House for giving me a copy of the book. |

Fun, twisted and full of lies. It was pretty dark, darker than other books from this author, I think. And I really appreciated that! The writing style was just okay, not my favorite, but not bad either. I can recommend this to thriller readers for sure. |

Everyone Here Is Lying is another deliciously twisty thriller from a definite "one-click" author, Shari Lapena! Her books always have me racing through the pages just to find out what happens next, and then I feel sad when they end because I was having so much fun. Sigh. But EHIL is definitely worth the massive book hangover! Highly recommend!! |

This was my first time reading a Shari Lapena novel, though I have added a number of her books to our library collection. Let me just say... she did not disappoint! Aptly titled Everyone Here Is Lying, this book will leave you guessing to the very end. William Wooler is a respected physician and a father of two, with a lovely wife, living in a quiet, small town neighborhood. He's also having a sordid affair with a woman who volunteers at his hospital, and when she decides to break it off with him, he goes home to find his nine-year-old daughter at home when she shouldn't be. When Avery goes missing that very same day, William's life and the lives of his family and the rest of their small-town community are thrown into chaos. What really happened to Avery Wooler? Who is to blame? And will anyone survive the toxic fallout of such a tragedy? I thoroughly enjoyed this dark tale. This book celebrates the grittier side of characterization, with a cast of characters whose flaws easily outnumber their virtues. No character is entirely sympathetic, so it is easy to believe the worst of each and every one of them. Lapena's handling of family dynamics is truly masterful. She refuses to shy away from the fact that families are not neat, not hardly, not even a little bit. Her portrayal of parent-child relationships, especially, was brutally honest and at times heart-breaking. I cannot recommend this book enough. It was a strong 5/5 stars for me. I can definitely say I was not expecting the final twist, and the conclusion was absolutely chef's kiss. It ended exactly where it should, with not a word more or less required. Brilliantly done! I will definitely be adding this book to our library collection when it comes out. |

This was a compelling mystery of a missing girl, and the investigation that ruins the lives of more than one person. I was not expecting the twist, nor the ending! Great read. |

Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. A mystery that was a quick read but didn’t blow me away. The twist seemed a little forced to me. It was well written and will be popular with my patrons, however. |

A man and woman end their steamy affair one afternoon. The man goes home to clear his head and finds that his nine year-old daughter unexpectedly home early. They have an argument and he storms out. Later, the girl is deemed missing. What happened? I read this book in one day. It was a great thriller with a twist that I didn't see coming at all. I would have liked a bit of an epilogue, but overall, a satisfying read. |

This book takes place in a nice, quiet neighborhood in Stanhope. William and Erin Wooler have two children, Avery and Michael. When Avery goes missing suddenly neighborhood secrets are exposed. Is anyone telling the truth? The title says it all. I really enjoyed how this book was laid out, from different characters' view points. It flows well. I really like the plot of this book; I'm sure other books are about a child going missing but when that child is difficult and manipulative it adds a nice twist. What happened to her? That's the question you just keep asking and cannot figure out until it is revealed. The answer is stunning and what happens after is brilliant. The only criticism I would give, and hopefully it's not a spoiler, is that when a character dies the ME questions how this person dies and labels the cause as "undetermined". I'm not sure what would make this possible, as it seems pretty cut and dry. But other than that I loved the book. I've read several other books from this author and loved all of them. |

I always enjoy a Shari Lapena book but this one takes the cake. Family drama, missing child and everyone is truly lying!! Great characters and a heck of a twist. Highly recommend |

Another fabulous mystery title from Lapena! Weaving multiple family's drama and secrets, she builds a classic "who dunnit" tale! |

This could be THE BEST book of 2023. Twists, turns and manipulation is the name of the game in this incredible work of art from Shari Lapena. One of my favorite thing about mystery and thriller novels is when they explore what is really hidden behind closed doors of people who sound exactly like our neighbors. In this book, Lapena picks apart relationships and dynamics and weaves together an intricate story that captivates you from the very beginning. I quite literally finished this book in one day. Once I picked it up, it was impossible to put down. The people she describes and bring to life could be anyone you know, they could be people you love, hate or never even noticed. She explores their struggles, their inner conflict and most importantly - their motives. I cannot say enough about this book - so I will leave it at 5/5 stars. I would like to thank NetGalley and Shari Lapena for giving me the chance to read this book before publication in exchange for an honest review. |

Shari Lapena has done it again with this fast paced mystery/thriller. This will be great for fans of The Push! So many twists and turns and gasp worthy moments! Crazy good, and I devoured it in one day! |

As per usual, I LOVED this book. I love anything Shari Lapena writes. I am also a lover of anything true crime, so the fact that this was about a missing child, and it went back and forth between the families, the police and all the neighbors perspectives. I loved it!!! |
