This book was amazing. It was stay up late call into work sick good. I quickly tore through this and fell completely for these characters. I am obsessed.

Witchy magic! I completely loved this and could not put it down. Just what I needed for the cold dark nights.

Somehow, this was not the rom com I signed up for. None of the characters were likeable in my opinion, and all of the drama just felt a little forced and flat.

This is what I would call a cozy witch story. It was cute and a mix of medium to slower pace at times.

This follows the story of Bailey, a young woman preparing for her wedding day. While looking for a wedding dress she runs into an eccentric woman that looks just like her but has the name of one her clients Esme. Esme offers to make a gown for her if she can't find one.

Later Bailey figures out that Esme is not her client but actually her bio mom, who is also a witch. Esme has also brought back a man Senton from the 1920s. Saving him mid fall. He jumps into Baileys car terrified of the witches, From there things get silly and fun.

Overall this an ok story. My favorite character was Django the parrot, who now talks way more than any other parrot. Not only that he's so snarky and stubborn.

The thing that didn't work for me at all was the romance in this story. As much as I enjoyed Senton, I couldn't get behind the dishonesty. I might have been more for it if Wes gave us reasons to dislike him other than an over controlling mother. He was a bit of a limp noodle but I didn't see any reason why Bailey would be so quick to act on infatuation.

I did like the coziness of this story. It felt like a slice of life with magic and witches, I think other readers who enjoy low stakes, just fun story could enjoy this.

Bailey's witch powers start manifesting pre-wedding. She somehow managed to conjure Seton into present day from 1929.... She's got to send him back even though a big part of her doesnt want to... deal with her fiance and deal with an unseen enemy all at once......

I like this book. An interesting witch story... Bailey is likable.. Seton is an interesting character. Lots of over-the-top hijacks. An intriguing plot. Lots of fun and laughter.

I really enjoyed reading this, Elizabeth Bass has a great writing style for the genre. The characters worked well and did what I was expecting from a supernatural romance novel. It had a great plot going on and worked in the genre. I was invested in what was happening and glad I was able to read this.

"Seton finally chanced a sip of his beer. Once he’d tested it, he took a longer swig. “I hope we don’t get raided before I can finish. ”Oh, Lord. Did this poor soul really think he’d been kidnapped from 1930? That explained why he was dressed like an escapee from The Great Gatsby. In his head, the man was living in the world of gangsters and speakeasies. And witches. I wasn’t sure how witches fit into his Roaring Twenties cosplay. I wasn’t sure I wanted to know."

I was so looking forward to the 2nd installment of Cupcake Coven after A Letter to Three Witches, which I really loved, but this one just flopped for me.

The characters were all a bit annoying and the story was just all over the place. It jumped around a bit too much and just didn’t really flow. It was choppy. There were some cute, funny, witty parts, but I just couldn’t get past how choppy the story was. It could have been much better.

I am rating it a 2.5 and not recommending it.

The Witch Hitch is a cozy romance with a Ms. Frizzle-like side character who will steal your heart (and possibly transport you to another century). There's magic, mystery, and online dating gone horribly wrong.

Unfortunately, there's also a wishy-washy main character. Bailey doesn't love her life, and when given an opportunity, she starts to sabotage it - including her engagement to Wes, a man who unabashedly quotes The Princess Bride with her but isn't quite what she's looking for in a husband.

The random guy transported from the 20s, however, seems to be right up her alley.

The way Wes was handled at the end knocked off an entire star from the rating. Throughout the book, Bailey ruminates over his bad luck in dating women who cheat on him and how it's the worst thing a woman could do to him and then she does what she does and it's all swept under the rug. It doesn't matter if he and Madeline eventually get together - it was handled very poorly.

“Lunatic asylums don’t really exist anymore— not the way they used to.” He looked around the bar. “That would explain a lot.”

No matter how straitlaced and normal a guy looked, there was always the Ted Bundy exception.

I think most of the characters in this book are annoying, especially Esme, Bailey’s birth mom. I didn’t like any of them. The story is weak. Although I was glad to see Bailey and Selton get together at the end. #TheWitchHitch #NetGalley

It was okay. I didn't realize this was second in a series and it didn't seriously hinder me from understanding the story so that was nice. The comedy was on point. Honestly, it wasn't bad but it didn't stand out to me. Not my cup of tea but it had its moments.

3.25/5 stars! This is the second installment of the "Cupcake Coven Romance" series. There were parts of it that were cute and silly, but overall the story was a bit all over the place for me. When a red-haired stranger at the bridal shop offers to make a wedding dress for her, Bailey hesitates before deciding to talk to the woman further. But when odd things start happening around Bailey -- including a random guy showing up in the back seat of her car and claiming to have traveled in time from 1930 -- she starts asking questions and learns that the red-haired woman is her biological mother... and a witch. And by the way, Bailey's a witch, too.

With that over-the-top setup, you know this book is going to be a wild ride with a highly unbelievable plot and a fairly predictable resolution. But how it gets you there is so much fun! Bailey first appears as a fairly straightlaced character willing to go along to get along, but the incredible things she discovers over the course of the book lead her to reassess what she truly wants from life and what people she wants in it. Should she have made some better decisions along the way? Of course, but that makes her all the more relatable. (Gotta say, though, my favorite character was Django, the talking bird.)
