I love this series by Robert, and this one is tied as my second favorite. I love that Apollo was good. He was a good man who tried to do his best in a bad world. I loved the relationship between the two of them and the arc of their relationship. And I just enjoy this world and the characters. This book definitely creates tension that will resonate throughout the subsequent books, and I'm interested to see how it plays out. Overall, loved it.

I very much enjoy this series! Katee is a must read for me at this point. While they don’t quite take my top slot in dark olympus couples for me, Apollo and Cassandra’s story was well done and particularly good for furthering the overarching plot of the series.

In particular, the audio book was well acted and paced. Both narrators did a wonderful job and I would absolutely listen to more from their repertoire

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an advanced audiobook of Radiant Sin!

Radiant Sin, the fourth installment of the Dark Olympus series, has stolen my heart and made it beat through my chest! The audiobook narrators did a fantastic job bringing this story to life! I feel like their performance jumped my rating a full star!

Katee Robert continues to build on an incredible world with Radiant Sin and, while I still love Neon Gods the most, Radiant Sin is excellent. It's entertaining, fun, romantic, and spicy! And this book had a little bit more of a view on the politics surrounding the Dark Olympus world, which was so interesting!

2.5 rounded up to a 3

When I requested this audiobook from Netgalley, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I knew it was part of a series but can be a standalone. Then, I realized it was a BossxAssistant romance and was SO excited but the story line fell flat for me.

What worked!
- The spice ofc. It was hot and I would like an Apollo IRL. Any office scene immediately makes me sweat.
- The voices. I usually don’t listen to audiobooks because I’m really picky with voice narrators. These narrators had both soothing and animated voices.
- Dionysus. Incredible character. Need more of him ASAP
- Plus Sized representation. Loved how Cassandra was confident and NOT a doormat.

What didn’t :(
- Apollo and Cassandra. As much as I tried to connect with these characters individually and as a couple, I could not. Something about their relationship was lacking for me. Yes their sexual tension was there but beyond that? I found it really hard to believe that Apollo had feelings for Cassandra since she started working. Their relationship also went from 0 to 100 real quick.
- The plot? I’m not sure if it was just going too fast or maybe it’s harder to understand with an audiobook, but the whole scene that felt like a game of clue?? I was completely lost.
- Cassandra and the relationship between her sister. Cassandra’s entire back story is about how she wants to leave Olympus and make sure her sister is safe but there’s only like three scenes with her sister. I wanted more from their relationship.

Maybe I just missed somethings since I was listening to an audiobook rather than reading, but I’d definitely give another one of the books in this series a shot!

Thank you to netgalley and dreamscapes for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away I discovered romance novels. But over the years, as I grew into womanhood and discovered what makes a good partner, it became more and more difficult to find romance that wasn't very problematic and a major turnoff.

Enter: Katee Robert.

Wow, wow, a thousand times wow. I've read others of Katee's, but this one is by far the BEST. Apollo is the best simp in town, I adore him. And I adore the protagonist too. And all the side characters. And the friggin awesome plot, a REAL plot, not a simplistic boring romance plot. No miscommunication trope or anything. But the one bed trope is there and I'm here for it! I literally would not change one single thing about this book and plan to read everything else by Katee.

The narrators were great, but the storyline was kind of hard to follow. It was pretty busy. I struggled to follow it without having to re-listen to a few parts. I am not a huge reader of Gods and such, so maybe that was part of the problem with this one for me, but I just really didn't enjoy this one. The characters were ok, there was a lot of heat in it, and it had a very dark baseline...all my normal jam, but I guess I just am not a fan of this one.

I liked Cassandra and Apollo's story, a slow-burn fake dating full of steam, with a great plot line that had me guessing what would happen next. All the twists and turns had me turning the pages. This series is just getting better and better. To be honest, I expected a bit more from Apollo, but Cassandra was well-developed. The world-building in the series if fantastic.

The lore of this Dark Olympus series has always been incredibly underdeveloped this new installment is the most baffling one yet. Radiant Sin features a romance between Apollo - who is for some reason the head of Olympus’ spies and not Hermes - and his assistant Cassandra. Which is just absolutely bizarre in context of the real mythos where Cassandra was Apollo’s priestess and explicitly rejects him - resulting in the downward spiral to her eventual tragic end.

Even that pales in comparison to the weirdness of Ariadne and Theseus both being the children of the antagonist Minos. I’m starting to think Katee Roberts just pulls up Wikipedia for a Greek myth and randomly picks out whichever names she sees first on the page to use in these books. Unfortunate that these two characters that are now siblings were married in the original lore.

In terms of the actual main characters featured here, Apollo is the most generic Love Interest that is a Man to exist. I have absolutely no feel for his character after reading the entire book, except that he is very devoted to Olympus (why?) and thinks Cassandra is hot. I was bored reading Cassandra’s perspective on him and even more bored by his own POV chapters. Cassandra herself at least has an interesting backstory and very valid motivation to try and leave Olympus. But her competency is called into question when she only realizes at the end of the book that her sister might actually want to stay in the city she grew up in and put roots. For someone who is supposedly brilliant and remarkably emotionally intelligent, this misses the mark.

The plot itself in Radiant Sin is almost entirely set in a “grand” party that Minos throws that really just involves all the characters sleeping in and playing games you might find at a 8-year old’s birthday party - like hide and seek. It’s crazy to me that someone was (spoiler) literally killed at this party and yet the book still feels like it has absolutely no stakes. Despite the kind of vague locked door mystery theme the author tried to build with party attendees going missing, the whole subplot seemed half-baked relative to the obvious intent to build Cassandra and Apollo’s relationship. And yet that relationship itself felt oddly paced given that these two characters suddenly went from years of off-page pining to full on smut that never quite convinced me of the slow burn.

I think hardcore fans of the series who really don’t care about inconsistencies in the mythos will still have a good time with this. But I’m starting to feel like Pysche’s book was the outlier that stands out as a solid romance in a collection of books that seems to be increasingly departing from any sense of a dark Greek mythology-inspired world.

Thank you to the publisher Dreamscape Media for providing an audiobook ARC via NetGalley for an honest review.

I loved the story! Another out of the park hit for Katee Robert! The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the choice of narrators. Not that they done a bad job, they were great, but I don’t feel like their voices matched the personality of the characters. Also, if you tried to read faster than 1.25 speed, it was hard to understand what they were saying due to some technical issues.

Radiant Sin is book 4 in the Dark Olympus series and follows Apollo and Cassandra. The story was highly entertaining and steamy, giving us drama, action, intrigue, betrayal, power, control, twists and turns and had me hooked from start to finish.
Apollo and Cassandra's story was an office romance/ fake relationship tale and was also one of unrequited love, as these two loved each other but neither knew about the other's attraction, so I loved seeing them finally admit their feelings for each other. I loved the mystery/suspenseful vibe in the story as it kept me guessing throughout. The secondary characters had me intrigued, There were some I liked and others I disliked but they all held my attention. This was a great story and I would definitely recommend it.

I listened to an audiobook version of this story, narrated by Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock. These two did a great job portraying the characters and giving them their own voice and emotions and they definitely brought the story to life. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC.

I am a Greek mythology fiend and have loved all of Katee's Dark Olympus books. I will say this one is my least favorite of them so far, but I still really enjoyed it, it's just the others I really loved especially Wicked Beauty. Apollo just didn't stand out to me like I wished he would. I loved the storyline, I'm a sucker for the fake dating trope. The story is getting good and cannot wait to read the next book. Here's to hoping it's an Aphrodite book!

3.5 stars

I received an arc of the audiobook of Radiant Sin. I really enjoyed the narration of this book. The narrator voices were pleasant to listen to and I enjoyed following them along through the story. I’m not typically an audiobook person so it’s a big deal to find narrators I enjoy. The dual narration also makes all the difference in a romance audiobook experience.

Now onto the book. I enjoyed bits and pieces but I found myself sort of bored. I was so excited for this kind of Clue like party but I felt like it dragged and fell flat. I was confused about where it was heading but not in a necessarily pleasant way. I liked Cassandra although even sometimes she could make me roll my eyes a little bit. I didn’t particularly connect to Apollo’s character. He was just kinda boring and way too nice. It’s supposed to be Dark Olympus not Super Duper Nice Olympus. The spice was obviously so so good as only Katee Robert knows how to do! I’m definitely going to keep continuing with the series though because the first 3 books were great!

I definitely recommend the audiobook and recommend reading the book if you’re trying to follow along in the Dark Olympus series. But sadly overall the story wasn’t my favorite this go around.

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape for the arc.

Another 5 star listen from Katee Robert. I really love her writing and listening to it on audio is always a treat. This audio in particular did very conveying what was happening the the story, if you know what I mean.

Katee Robert returns to the Dark Olympus series with a scorching romance between Apollo and Cassandra. As an author, Robert can do no wrong in my eyes. I absolutely devour everything that she publishes, and her Dark Olympus series (packed with creatively spun reimaginings of famous mythological figures and tales) is my favorite series from her yet.

All Cassandra Gataki wants is to be allowed to leave Olympus behind once and for all. When Apollo, her boss, asks her for a favor she sees her one opportunity to escape. He needs a fake date for a week-long house party, and Cassandra is more than happy to play along if he’ll use the secrets he hoards for the rich and powerful to help her leave.

Cassandra is hands down my favorite part of this book. She's dealt with so much judgment after the death of her parents and works incredibly hard to provide for her younger sister and protect her from harm. I really loved how the novel's mystery at a house party set up really allowed her to show off her skills in ways that impressed Apollo. On the flip side, Apollo felt a little bland to me, especially by comparison to other heroes in this series. He was wonderful to Cassandra, but on his own didn't inspire a lot of interest from me.

I think this book does an excellent job of introducing larger overall series stakes in the form of outsiders coming into Olympus with their own agendas, and I'm excited to see where it goes.

As always Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock were lovely narrators and it's always a treat to listen to them!

Of all of the Dark Olympus novels, Radiant Sin is now my second favorite, just behind book 1 (Neon Gods). I loved the relationship between our main characters and the shift of the world building in this installment. And Katee never disappoints in the spice department!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💫
Genre/trope: fiction, romance, fake dating, forced proximity, Greek mythology, retelling
CW/TW: some BDSM

Apollo’s a spymaster in charge of Olympus’ defenses. He and Zeus are aware of a looming threat and one way to gather intel is to attend an exclusive weeklong party that members of Olympus’ ruling 13 have been invited to. Cassandra’s asked to go as Apollo’s plus one and will be financially rewarded. This would be provide her and her younger sister the means leave Olympus to start anew after what her traitorous parents did. Working in such close proximity means finally giving into the attraction they’ve felt for each other since the beginning while keeping their eye on the ball. They don’t know what games are being played and who’s pulling the strings.

I loved it! It kind of reminded me a little of the movie, Clue, with bodies disappearing and dropping, and red herrings. It was fun! I also loved that Apollo wasn’t an uber arrogant alpha (not my thing anymore), which puts in him stark contrast to the most of the previous MMCs in this series. Cassandra’s total spitfire and I adored her. Holding her head up high through humiliation and gossip, she’s my hero! She’s smart as tacks, too, though dismisses her because of her family. Apollo recognizes that and says as much. He knows he can’t complete this mission without her help.

I simply cannot get enough of this series. Robert strikes a beautiful balance between plot and delicious spice. Oh the spice🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Adding an element of mystery had me giddy! As always, this narrating duo is perfect at bringing these characters to life. I loved every freaking moment of this ride. This one ends on a cliffhanger of sorts, gearing up for something big for Olympus. Now I have to wait - my least favorite - to see what’s next.

Thanks to @netgalley & @dreamscape_media for my ALC. This is my honest review.

Radiant Sin has definitely solidified its spot as my favorite in the Dark Olympus series so far. This instalment has the perfect dynamic. Cassandra has a legitimate reason for not wanting to become involved with Apollo, so the plot line feels more realistic. Apollo is head over heels in love but refrains because of his power over her. Their relationship felt the most real out of all of the past books.
The action sub-plot of the book was so riveting as well! I never got bored of our setting although it was the majority of the novel.
There was the best ratio of sex:kink:romance, making Radiant Sin- in my opinion, a triumph.

given i didn't really enjoy neon gods as much as others, yet thoroughly enjoyed the ride of electric idol, i went into this listen with a pretty even slate when it came to expectations.

while it does deliver on steam as it has throughout the series, this one fell a bit flat for me in terms of voice and development. i never quite felt like there was much between apollo and cassandra. adding the mystery plot to it didn't help endear me any further into the tale either.

the plot itself felt weak or at the very least, not engaging enough to keep me at the edge of my seat in wonder or curiosity as electric idol did. this one simply didn't grip me by the collar and demanded by attention or adoration. as much as i wanted to enjoy it, i just felt myself drifting in and out of the story, picking up the key details of the plot, but never feeling pulled into the world built.

that could also come from the world falling a little flat for me too. each time, where i think it might be fleshed out a bit more, it just— wasn't? and with how much of the characters reside within it, and how important it seems to each one, it's hard to imagine them in this city when i fail to picture it within my mind, let alone picture why everyone seems so hellbent in staying at the top of it.

Katee can’t do no wrong. This book was just as spicy as the others and Apollo and Cassandra were amazing, but the mystery and plot was also so well done! I cannot wait to continue this series and know what’s going to happen next!

Another great installment in the Dark Olympus series. I really enjoyed Cassandra and Apollo. Their chemistry was great and the forced proximity trope is one of my favourites. I also really liked the murder mystery/house party vibes. The narrators were also fantastic!

Great concept, great callbacks to characters from previous books, great love story with the main characters. All together a great book. Looking forward to the next one!
