Thank you to Netgalley for providing this audiobook Arc in exchange for an honest review.

I rated this book a strong 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. I absolutely adore Katee Robert stories! Overall I enjoyed this book but it is by far the weakest in the series that I have read so far. With that being said it is still a fun sexy read that gets the job done.

The Good: I appreciate the murder mystery type vibe. I loved Cassandra as a character and found she was relatable in her reactions to how ridiculous the 13 are. The spice in this book was a happy medium, not to far out there but still spicy.

The not so Good: I don't know why but I really hated the narration for Apollo, his voice took me right out of it. I found that besides Cassandra, I really didn't care for any of the other characters in the story. As I said above, this story felt like the weakest in the series. While I loved the mystery type vibe, there were parts that felt so dull that I found myself wanting to skim ahead.

Overall it was a fun read and you will certainly enjoy it if you are a fan of Katee Robert.

I've read every book in this series and adore them all. This is my first time listening to one and Zara Hampton-Brown; Alex Moorcock knocked this out of the water - with the depiction of the main and supporting characters.

Apollo is a decent man and he very clearly has feeling for Cassandra who is trying to run from a past of her parent making.

Cassandra gets bribed into going to a party with all the people she wants nothing to do with in order to uncover bad behaviour from a new player in the city.

Cassandra has been avoiding her feeling for Apollo but perhaps this fake dating situation will have them dealing with things in more ways than one.

I loved the spice and all the characters in this story, I feel like we got more information about some of the supporting characters,

I also felt like the story isn't done. a lot was left unfinished at the end which left me unsettled but all in all I loved this book

Radiant Sin continues Katee Robert's saga that began with Neon Gods: where the city of Olympus is cut off from the outside world and essentially ruled by the "Thirteen"-- roles that are named after 13 Olympian Gods. You follow Apollo and Cassandra, a member of the thirteen responsible for Information and his assistant, who are tasked with fake dating in order to infiltrate a party held by Minos, a recent interloper in Olympus politics.

The fake-dating, tension, chemistry and consensual BDSM smut are all top notch. Katee Robert knows how to write erotica. The plot fell a bit flat for me.

Olympus is sold to us as this world with a dark underbelly, where the rich and connected flourish and get away with murder- sometimes literally. Cassandra is introduced to us as a strong, independent woman who raised her little sister after her parents died, and has been navigating Olympus politics so her sister wouldn't have to. Yet, about half-way through the book, Cassandra seems shocked that people can be violent and plot murder, despite knowing this about the city (first-hand!?!?) for years.

When Apollo and one of the antagonists have a violent confrontation, she freezes and is barely able to help. Katee Robert has repeatedly made her female characters physically weaker than their male counterparts (even Helen who competed in the very physical challenges to be Ares in her last book), but it was so frustrating to listen to her describe Cassandra standing uselessly with a tire-iron while the men brawled. It doesn't take a trained warrior to knock someone out with a tire-iron, so they don't say special words that make them "king". Surely an able bodied woman who isn't very fit can still manage that much.

Anyway, there was a strong start, but Cassandra's uselessness as a character took me completely out of the story. Her sudden naïveté seemed out of character and I was ready for the book to be over at that point.

The narration was unremarkable, except for the fact that the narrators needed a bit more guidance saying greek names for both characters and cities.

I'll probably recommend this to folks looking for mindless smut, but I'll likely warn them that the plot is okay at best.

If you enjoy The Dark Olympus series you’ll enjoy this book, but I will say this one is “boring” compared to the other books in the series.

I really enjoyed Cassandra’s character and appreciated the fact that she’s not in the thick of things in regards to the main characters that we are use to seeing so far. I enjoyed her and Apollo together, but on his own, he was a little lackluster to me. That could just be Apollo, though 🤣🤷‍♀️ he’s not exactly my favorite God in any universe.

The spice is pretty tame compared to the other books but by no means am I complaining. Just don’t go in expecting what you’re use to.

Radiant Sin is the fourth book in the Dark Olympus series and I am a big fan of the series as a whole! I think Katee Robert in general does a great job in balancing an overarching plot to the series, while also focusing on select characters relationships in each installation, and this story did just that. In Radiant Sin, we follow Apollo and Cassandra as they go undercover as a couple at Minos’ week-long house warming party. Minos is the newest Olympian resident and a dangerous man with questionable motives, so Apollo, as spymaster, is sent by Zeus to find out what game he is playing and what impact it will have on the relatively unstable new Olympic political scene. Apollo and Cassandra have worked together for years and are both harboring attractions for each other, but for their own reasons, haven’t acted on them. Now, posing as a couple, they find themselves unable to resist the temptation anymore.

Overall, I enjoyed the plot of this book. While I think it was probably my least favorite of the series so far, that doesn’t discredit it for not being a GOOD book. I enjoyed the mystery that Apollo and Cassandra were trying to figure out, with who was playing what games and who was innocent in it all. I found both characters to be intriguing, but again would have liked to have a little bit more on their back story, especially with Apollo and his family. They were both engaging characters, though, and I enjoyed learning their story. I thought for the most part though, this book acted as a bridge to set up the next story, as we learn a bit more about what is happening with the boundary and with Minos’ plot. We also got more of an introduction to the characters who will be in a poly relationship for the next book, and some of their tension was set up already.

This book was probably the least spicy of her books that I’ve read so far, but that by no means is a bad thing. Katee knows how to write spice and write it well and this was no exception. There was an enjoyable balance of smut and plot, which I like most about this series. Some other KR series are more smut heavy vs plot heavy, but I think Dark Olympus is her best blend of spice with a plot.

Lastly, I listened to this ARC on audiobook, and thought the narrators picked for this were excellent. As the book is told in both Apollo and Cassandra’s POVs, we had a narrator for each other their perspectives. I thought both voices were very attractive and fit the characters well. Narrators can really make or break an audiobook, especially ones where there is spice, but these two were both entertaining and not cringey. They were a good fit for the book!

Overall, I found this one to be enjoyable! It had great workplace romance/boss-employee tropes, along with some mystery and thrills. A great addition to the Dark Olympus series!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Dreamscape for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

3.25/5 overall rating
1.5/5 Spice

As usual with Katee Robert I had been highly anticipating this book. It has some of my favorite tropes and I am a sucker for KR’s well done fat-rep so I could not get my hands on this book quickly enough. Cassandra and Apollo as characters don’t let you down. Apollo is the best of the thirteen (the men at least because I’m still nursing my crush on Ares) and he takes such good care of his girl. He’s so thoughtful and loving in the scenes that you get them on page (focusing on the romance vs the mystery). He is also super hot and a huge simp which I stan. Cassandra is strong and written as just as intelligent as anyone else who is able to make it in Olympus even though she has had to pull herself up quite a way to get to her status.

I also personally loved the murder mystery vibe of the book. With some exceptions that I’ll go into later I think this added an Agatha Christie vibe and I liked trying to solve the mystery.

Unfortunately, this book fell solidly into the 3 star range for me not because of the characters or outline of the story but due to the execution. About halfway through I realized that the book wasn’t really settling on what it wanted to be. The way that it cut to the romantic scenes felt forced and almost as if Robert would have forgone the romance in service to the mystery if given the choice. While I loved these two characters, and their pining was steamy- once you got to the actual steam it fizzled out as it was so fast and felt repetitive. In Neon gods you remember the different times that Hades and Persephone are intimate because they are unique and memorable- in this book they could all have been the same exempting for one setting. I’m also a little disappointed that the two books with the lowest spice of the series have been the two with plus sized representation and I hope that this isn’t a trend that continues. Cassandra and Apollo deserve all the spice!

So if the steam was being sacrificed in the name of the mystery the mystery should be flawless and captivating and while there were enough action scenes to keep your interest there seemed to be a lot of shortcuts in the writing. And you absolutely had to suspend your disbelief. Why did this thing happen to this person? Oh it was just an accident. Oh this amazing spy thing happened and we were able to get all this information- was it helpful? Nope not at all actually.

And lastly, the character introduction. I think this comes into play as well with it being an audiobook but even had I had the ebook I would have been constantly searching back and forth for who a person is. You’re introduced to this entire additional ‘family’ as well as some original Olympus characters and it just got confusing. Eventually I gave up and said ‘if it’s important I’ll get the general idea eventually’ but that’s kind of a bummer because so many of them have books coming up. I will say I have no idea how Robert is going to endear certain characters to us… this book made them seem irredeemable. But that’s something to look forward to, I guess!

This was the audiobook version, so I want to review that specifically. Both narrators do a great job showcasing emotion and Zara is a great fit for Cassandra’s voice, but Alex Moorcock was not a good fit for Apollo. Apollo is supposed to be a young-ish half Korean spymaster… he sounded so much older and stuffy, and it was off-putting. Trying to separate Alex’s voice from Apollo the character was a consistent struggle throughout the book.

Radiant Sin is the upcoming release for Katee Robert's Dark Olympus series. The series as a whole is such a creative and modern take on Greek mythology. As the books progress, the worldbuilding of this version of Olympus gets more intricate. I was interested in this book 1) because I was a fan of the series and Katee Robert in general and 2) rarely is the story of Apollo and Cassandra retold.

Apollo is the leadership role designated for the keeper of information. He's a spy master and Cassandra works for him because she knows the Olympians too well. They killed her parents and she's sick of them. Her goal is to get her coin and get her sister and herself out. Apollo pays the best so she works for him. There is a new threat in town named Minos and there's no information on him. Cassandra agrees to be Apollo's plus one at a week-long party to gain more information and earn enough capital to get out of Olympus for good. Fake dating, vicious new characters.... Apollo and Cassandra are in for a dangerous and wicked week.

My thoughts : well I mean it's Katee Robert. The spice was always going to be good and fun. The mission of Apollo and Cassandra gave the book a very Mr. and Mrs. Smith/Knives Out : Glass Onion vibe that I was here for. The previous book (Wicked Beauty) expanded the Dark Olympus universe and set the stage for this book to expand upon the impending threats from Wicked Beauty through new characters. While I am a Hades/Persephone fan to my core, there is still a space in my heart for these two. Apollo and Cassandra are the definition of mutual pining, but primarily focused on their goals. This plot is a fascinating modern take, however Katee does sprinkle in some bits of the old mythology. A forewarning to the Hermes fans, she is all over the place in this book. I love her, but in this book she had her own agenda and I wanted to know what it was so badly. Guess I will just have to read the next one.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC; all opinions are my own.

Absolutely loved this continuation of the Dark Olympus series! I enjoyed how the fake dating/friends to lovers story was set within the setting of a murder mystery/dinner party. I also thought the narrators fit the main characters well.

Dark Olympus is one of my favorite series! My Smutty Book Club uses Neon Gods as our Litmus test to join.

Radiant Sin, book four of the Dark Olympus series follows Apollo and his executive assistant Cassandra. On Zeus’s orders the pair are to be in a fake relationship in order to find the true reason for the newest family in Olympus being so cagey. Of course both Apollo and Cassandra have been secretly infatuated with each other for years. This secret mission will have the sparks flying.

This book felt like a bit of Clue but Olympus style. Members of the 13 and their +1’s are invited to an event off site. When people start disappearing it’s up to Apollo and Cassandra to get to the bottom of it.

Cassandra is a strong main character, I could see her motivations and felt for her even through her stubbornness. While Apollo is easy to love, I felt I was missing some of his motivation. Maybe it was in the prior books and I had forgotten it. Together they feel like fated mates, running out of time. On the spicy scale, this one feels more tame than the last few. I still adored it.

Once again Zara Hampton Brown and Alex Morecock had a wonderful performance. I love all the specific voices they use for the cast. I enjoy this team and look forward to listening to them in all the Olympus books.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the ARC. The review is my honest opinion of the book.

I’m completely obsessed with this series. Cassandra and Apollo was such a fun couple to read. Im a sucker for fake dating and he falls first and this book delivers on both end. Also we get plus size rep with Cassandra! I cannot wait for more books in this series.

4 Stars

You know I wasn't sure about the Dark Olympus series. I read the physical copy of the Neon God's and wasn't sure if I would continue. However I randomly started listening the remaining series on audio and they have no disappointed. The narrators for these books have been fantastic and totally suck me in, definitely making me blush at times.

This next installment is a fake dating trope with Apollo and Cassandra. Apollo is Cassandra's superior and they have been ordered to fake a relationship in order to try to spy on the 12.

This was a fun time, I really enjoyed my time with Apollo and Cassandra. I instantly felt the chemistry between them and was excited for what was to come. Their characters are super likeable that I definitely was rooting for them. I am not so sure about the Murder/Mystery plot in this book and that part might not have really worked for me. It was a bit difficult to follow.

The narrators of this book are fantastic and I really enjoyed both perspectives told by them. I would listen to more books narratored by them.

I would recommend this book to any other fans of this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this advance audio book copy. My review is voluntarily my own. I will be posting my review to major retail sites on or close to publication.

The audiobook narrators were very emotive . The gentleman had more “early-60’s” vibes than young, sexy, powerful leader-of-a-city vibes though.

The story was overall well-written. There was a decent plot and whodunit with all the smut. It did seem to scramble to wrap up and ended kind of abruptly.

Radiant Sin (Dark Olympus #4) by Katee Robert. The audiobook is narrated by Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock

Katee Robert has been added to my list of must-read acclaimed authors. This fourth installment of the bestselling Dark Olympus series audiobook can be listened to as a standalone. This was my first encounter with the author. It was easy for me to follow the plot.

It was interesting how the author portrayed Cassandra and Apollo in this retelling of their story. I was fascinated by the intrigue and politics of Olympus and the modernized plus one storyline is delicious. This mythology-based audiobook series is brought to life by the narration of Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock.

Radiant Sin audiobook is available starting February 7th. It is spicy and may not be suitable for all audiences.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for sharing this audiobook with me. Your kindness is appreciated.

Had a great time with this one! I really loved the overall plot that is being moved forward with this one. I actually gasped out loud a few times and was shocked with where we were at the end. I immediately went to look up the release date for book 5 and I can't wait to see what will happen there.

Apollo and Cassandra were just delightful. They both are under a lot of stress with their personal lives and with the city drama as a whole. I loved how they are pushed into fake dating by Zeus but really they both hate that they want it so bad. They've worked together all these years and had to deny their feelings. Apollo is such a simp for Cassandra and I was here for it!

I do wish I had gotten a bit more of them actually together and a few more steamy scenes which were limited due to our truncated timeline in this one.

But overall I enjoyed this entry very much and seeing so much of the politics and maneuverings of those in power was intriguing. I will be eagerly awaiting the next entry.

I love this Dark Olympus series and this book was no exception! Cassandra and Apollo gripped me from the very beginning! I’m a sucker for the fake dating trope and in love with my boss and this did that perfectly with some amazing spice! The only reason it got four instead of five stars for me was that the “solution” at the very end was kinda anticlimactic for me… but I do see how it’s setting up for the series to continue with other characters in this wonderful world of Olympus!

This was a spicy, opposites attract, dual POV romance set in the Dark Olympus universe. Definitely one of more more enjoyable reads in this series that sees main characters, Apollo and Cassandra (former co-workers), fake dating at a house party in an attempt to root out who's behind plans for a coup. Good on audio narrated by Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

Radiant Sin is a part of the Dark Olympus Series by Katee Robert. Even though this is the 4th book in this series, you don't have to read the first 3 books. Each book in this series reads as a stand-alone.
I did read the first 3 and her 4th in the series did not disappoint.
The story follows Cassandra and Apollo in this book. Cassandra takes no BS from her love interest. She is strong and knows what she wants. I also love that Katee makes her main Females more fuller-figured. She tackles body image and reminds us we should always love ourselves.
The story has all the great tropes mixed with Greek mythology. Whether it's your first Katee Roberts book, or a fan, this book was an enjoyable read. Spice level is around 3-4 chili peppers.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape for the ARC.

Fake dating AND a clue-style dinner party, I'm still SALIVATING at how good this novel was. It picks up right after Wicked Beauty, the tensions still running high between the 13 and the incoming threat of a family moving into the Upper City of Olympus. Twists, turns, and the perfect amount of smut Katee Robert is known for. This narrative will keep you on your toes and have them curling.

Radiant Sin by Katee Robert is the fourth book in her Dark Olympus series and this one follow Cassandra and Apollo. Apollo is one of the “13” and Cassandra is his employee. When situations arise and the two need to “fake date,” they end up being more convincing than they intended and sparks fly from there.

I think calling this series a “retelling” of Greek myth is a disservice to both the mythology and Katee Robert as an author. These books are a reimagining where some basic plot threads and relationships from the original myth are brought in but Robert uses them in new and interesting ways.

If you are going into this book solely wanting a spicy time, I’m afraid to say this entry isn’t the one for you. I think this book serves as a bridge book between the first three and however many will follow this one. In this book, a lot of relationships (romantic, platonic, and political) come to light and you really see the whole cast of characters that will start becoming set pieces for the remainder of the series. This book does have some spice but that isn’t the crux of the story.

Cassandra and Apollo are fine as main characters. Apollo had some of the simp, golden retriever energy I love to see. Cassandra is a plus size queen and they both have the sexual fluidity I’ve come to expect from this author’s characters. I saw a TikTok of Katee Robert once where she said never assume her characters are straight unless she specifically says so and I just love that as a concept. We are dealing with gods who can live for a long time. It’s expected that they would be a little more open to things.

While I still really enjoyed this book (I listened to the whole audiobook in a day), I think it is the weakest installment in the series so far. But I think a lot of that is because this book as so much set up for the next few books to come. I enjoyed the audiobook narration. I’ve listened to every book in this series via audiobook and I’ve enjoyed that experience.

It pains me to give this rating, I really didn't like this addition to the series. I just couldnt get into the plot or the couple with this one. Things are just getting confusing with the surplus of characters and with the plot. I think I may be done with this series.

Narrators Alex Moorcock and Zara Hampton-Brown were ok for this book.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
