As a longtime fan of Nancy Meyers, I was so excited to read this book, and honestly is was everything and more.

We closely follow the love story of Kailee who is dating Ross, and Heather who is Ross’ mother. And of course it takes place on beautiful Nantucket.

The way both women’s stories are told individually, but also weaved together was beautiful. The story hit on all the emotions, love, happiness, grief, sadness, loneliness. The story also didn’t stray away from difficult life experiences like divorce, health issues, motherhood, marriage, loss, dating after divorce, friendship, and navigating the in-law relationship.

This is the perfect read if you’re looking for an uplifting story. And I am honestly hoping Nancy will deliver a sequel to this story. Although the ending wraps things up perfectly. I do believe she left some open doors to eventually see what the future looks like for Kailee, Ross, and Heather. (Nancy I am begging you to give us a sequel🙏🏼)

This was another advanced copy from @netgalley it was a quick read about Heather, a woman in her 40’s who is beginning her second act. She rents a cottage in Nantucket for the whole summer while her divorce is worked out. By coincidence, her son is also out on the island with his new fiancé and his new life. Will the island be too small for them? It is a good lesson in relationships. And who wouldn’t want to stay in a small cottage in Nantucket with lots of books to read?

I sank into this book reading non stop because it’s that good. All the Days of Summer is about change. Mostly big changes and what makes it more interesting, besides the wonderfully developed characters, is these changes are happening to characters of different ages and at different stages in their life. This is the perfect book for Brach/Summer reading and I think it will be a great hit.

I hate to leave Heather and Kailee and their storyline. I hope there’s a follow up in other books of their lives, what they’re doing, how they’re changing and growing.

The first line of the book is “It was Heather who hated Kailee first. Well, she didn’t actually hate Kailee. But she wasn’t sure she liked her.” Unfortunately, I have to agree. Heather, a forty plus year old very likable person who is transitioning into the person she is meant to be after being a wife and mother. I loved to see her blossom. The transformation takes place in Nantucket (and I hope to get there some day!). I wanted to like
Kailee more, but by the end of the book, I have to say, still not a fan. For those who dream of reinventing themselves by the ocean, you’ll enjoy this book; I did!

This was a fun book. Families are so complicated and Nancy Thayer does families well. What doesn't happen in this novel

I was drawn quickly into this book and didn't want to put it down. The characters were well developed and the plot held my interest. I really liked Heather and Ross but Kailee was a spoiled brat who was jealous of everyone and everything and resented every relationship that didn't center around her. I loved the way Thayer's writing brought Nantucket to life. All in all, a very good book that I would recommend. Thanks to Random House Publishing-Ballantine and NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

This could be described as a good beach read. Although I read it to the end, it was not my favorite Nancy Thayer book. Of course the setting is beautifully described but the characters were not so believable, especially whiney, spoiled Kailee. The ending seemed contrived and rushed.

If you like your stories of family relationships told in a straightforward style and in a beachfront setting, Nancy Thayer's latest is for you. Thayer's writing doesn't demand a lot but expertly lures the reader ever onward to find out how all of the plots and subplots are resolved.

The marriage of Heather and her husband of 20+ years hasn't been working for either, so after their son, Ross, has graduated from college and declines the opportunity to ultimately take over his father's hardware store, Heather calls a halt to the marriage. Renting a cottage on Nantucket for the summer, she loves the change of venue and the opportunity to find herself once again. Now, if only she didn't hate Ross's serious girlfriend, Kailee, who actually does want to someday take over her wealthy family's construction business on Nantucket and is jealous of Ross's relationship with his mother.

Typical for beach reads, everyone has challenging issues. Ross wants to marry Kailee but doesn't want his mother to feel left out by Kailee and her parents. Kailee's father builds homes for billionaires, alienating the long-term locals who feel the mansions are spoiling the island, so her mother is driven to create a foundation that will help relieve their neighbors' antagonism. And Kailee herself is truly in love with Ross but having some pressing personal issues of her own.

I appreciate the way the characters are allowed to develop and show different sides of their personalities--only Heather's clueless ex-husband seems one-note. It took a little while for me to be absorbed by the plot, but I was more and more engrossed as I read on. And of course, I loved the beautiful setting, not to mention the requisite adorable dog. Overall, a lovely way to spend my time!

I think this is my favorite Nancy Thayer book!
When Heather realizes that her marriage to Wall is over, she takes a chance and moves to Nantucket for the summer. Not long after, she finds out that her college graduate son will also be living on Nantucket with his wealthy girlfriend Kailee. Kailee has lived on Nantucket her entire life and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. She and Ross are eager to begin their lives together and Kailee doesn’t want anyone to get in the way of that, including Heather. As the summer goes on Heather falls in love with more than just the island. Kailee experiences a summer of joy and heartbreak.
I couldn’t put this book down, it was such a great read.

I love reading books about Nantucket. I’ve never been there, but it just sounds like a perfect place. The setting reminded me of Elin Hilderbrand books, which I love. This was just a nice, heartfelt book about the complexity of family. Always love Nancy Thayer and this one did not disappoint. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my review.

This is a wonderful, heartfelt story about family. Heather has decided to divorce her husband and through her best friend, an opportunity popped up to rent a run down cottage on Nantucket for the summer. After making her plans, she learns that her son, Ross, will be joining his girlfriend, Kailee, on Nantucket to work for her father’s construction company after graduating from college instead of moving home to help his father run his hardware store. Heather and Hailee do not have a good first meeting and things are rocky between them going forward. The storyline went in an unexpected direction and was very moving, it made me cry.

It’s like coming home reading Nancy Thayer books! While I’ve never been to Nantucket, her descriptions let you feel as though you are there! I love that she writes about middle life women who discover themselves. In this, Heather has been in a love less marriage for years. Her son is graduating from college. She decides to move on in life and rents a rundown cottage on Nantucket for 3 months. The she discovers her son is in love with a young woman whose family lives there and owns a large construction company. There is a lot of conflict between Heather and the girlfriend and I never did warm up to her. I thought she was a spoiled brat but that is my opinion. Anyway, Heather makes a new life for herself and it is wonderful to read!

I gobbled this book up. What a great read and food for thought. As a mom with college kids and them having relationships develop I could really connect with the story. Things change a lot when our life as we have known it changes. I liked how she developed all of the characters as the book went on and appreciated how she presented everyone's perspective. Maybe me like a couple of them more as I read the book from their perspective. Definitely a great book for summer so glad I got the change to read it now.

With the exception of a few cringy eye rolling scenes, a fun & entertaining summer read. Good pacing & storytelling.

As soon as I saw this as available, I hit request! Nancy Thayer is one of my favorites and for good reason. I really enjoyed this book. I felt like I was walking on Nantucket with Heather as she lived out her summer of finding the new her, after leaving her husband. I agree with other reviewers that Kailee was a little spoiled and her parts of the story came across as whiny. The ending felt rushed, but overall this is a great book. Thanks to netGalley and the publisher for the early read.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this pre-release. This book was like an Elin Hildebrand novel without the nuance. The storyline seemed like it had potential and ended up being very predictable. The ending was abrupt. I've read a lot of books like this that take place on Nantucket, and this one did succeed in making the island less of a character than the others.

4.5 I read this on a six-hour plane flight and the time just flew by! Nancy Thayer's books make me feel like I am on Nantucket in the summer and this one is no different.. Family relationships, young love, and two women trying to get to know each other as the man they both love- a son and a fiancée-learn what’s important and what family is all about.

Read this book in one afternoon. I get sucked into all Nancy Thayer books. I’m often jealous of the characters living in such a beautiful place. Instantly liked the characters and the story being told. Definitely recommend!

Heather Willette is my favorite character in Nancy Thayer’s latest beach read, “All the Days of Summer.” She took a chance, put herself first for once, and escaped to Nantucket for the summer.
