This is a good book. The two main characters are Steph and Rob. Steph goes to Italy for a job. She goes to help a famous band come back. She helps the band with some new songs. The leader of the band Keith is Rob’s father. When Step and Rob meet there is an instant attraction. They start dating. They each have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

Great story, lovely setting, enjoyed the charcters and the story very much. I thought it flowed really well and it was a really good read.

I’m so thrilled to have been able to dip back into another T A Williams romance!

This time, we are transported to the Italian Riviera and in the author’s trademark style, are treated to descriptions of the wonderful scenery and local food dishes in such tantalising detail, that it is possible to imagine yourself there.

Similarly, there is another adorable chocolate Labrador, in the form of the delightful Waldorf, to fall in love with.

I loved the music theme around which this book was centred and the way in which it cleverly inextricably linked the main characters. Whether it was the former rock stars yearning to reform the band, Ethan and Steph with their recording expertise or Robert and Steph’s love of playing classical pieces, the music helped to thread all of them together in a variety of ways.

There are some hard-hitting themes dealt with, such as loss, grief and drug abuse, but these are sensitively handled and help to develop the reader’s understanding of several of the characters.

It is almost a book of two halves; the first focusing more on the band and the second the budding relationship between Steph and Robert. What is immensely likeable is how, despite their current or previous fame and fortune and extravagant lifestyle, there is a real sense of genuine warmth as Steph is welcomed into the fold by Keith and his family.

As a reader, you cannot help but root for Steph and hope that positive things happen for her. I did find her internal dilemma over her growing attraction to Robert a little repetitive at times, but I can see why the author has chosen to use this as a means of conveying her inner turmoil.

Another resounding triumph from T A Williams and definitely worth a read!

This isn't the first book by this author that I have read, so I was curious way before I read the Synopsis.
There were a lot of elements in this story that I loved:
➡️ The setting, with the Italian connection that I have come to love in T.A. Williams' books.
➡️ The second chance of a famous band, with their comeback and every obstacle in life (reference to drugs and alcohol in the past of the band members, but it's also a part of some other characters life, so let me leave that information as a warning).
➡️ The family and friendship, the bonds the characters had and the ones they created with one another.

The story had me interested in knowing more about the characters with each page, and I really wanted to know if my theories and thoughts were correct and would happen.

I loved the fact that music was a big part of the book. With Steph's work and love for music, and the way she connected with the band via her music, and the fact that she was a massive fan of the band was a plus. And Rob's sweet and mysterious attitude that paired well with the music and with Steph. And let me also add the the band was older than most books I have read. The members weren't in their early 20s or even 30s, and that just made a difference and how we understand them and the things they went through.

Overall, I liked the ending, although I have so many questions about other characters and I can't say where because I don't want to give spoilers.
It ended in a quick pace, and even though I had a couple of thoughts and theories about possible endings, and in a way I was correct, one unexpected event happened that it made sense. But!... that event just made me want more.

Since it appears to be the start of the Beneath Italian Skies Series, I'm sure, the author will give us some sort of resolution or update about the characters.

It was a fun book following Steph and the Royalty (band).

We are off to the beautiful Italian Riviera for this escapist romance by TA Williams. I always enjoy his books and this one is no exception. Steph is at a bit of a crossroads in her life with some big decisions to make in her personal life. There is a certain glamour about her assignment in Italy, but can she take her opportunities and trust her first impressions? She also has some health concerns on her mind.

The setting with its gorgeous scenery, delicious food and all the sights and colours of the coast are a big part of the appeal of the book. I waited patiently for a hopeful Labrador to appear and Waldorf did not disappoint. He was as exuberant and affectionate as I’d expect. With a large cast of characters and a tantalising ‘will they,won’t they?’ set up, this makes for an ideal holiday read.

In short: if music be the food of love…

My Review: A fully enjoyable and easy to follow story. We follow Steph to Italy with her then boyfriend Ethan who has some issues with the drink and drug situation. They end up in Italy working on an album with the legendary band Royalty. The lead singer Keith has a beautiful place and a studio, which has a gorgeous apartment above it. Keiths care taker Cesare features with his support and professionalism. Within the story we also touch on grief, health issues/ scares and we meet a beautiful black lab. I had to chuckle in some places. Recommended.

Characters:
Steph lives and works in London while making her way within the music industry. While her passion is for classical music on the keyboards, she knows the skill and dedication to make it in classical music is beyond her capabilities. So instead, she tried to make it as a session musician then moved onto a job as a sound technician for a recording studio for stability.
Rob on the other hand has made it big as a classical violinist soloist, and has garnered quite the reputation as a playboy. Living full time in Italy and touring the world his career is going great and he’s enjoying life to its maximum benefit.
Storyline:
Steph and her boss-cum-boyfriend get offered the deal of a lifetime to travel to Italy for a month to record a new-come-back album for a world famous band who’d separated a decade earlier. While the timing isn’t great, it’s too good of an opportunity to turn down, so they pack and jet off to Italy where they find themselves staying with the band.
When they arrive, they discover that recording the album won’t be as simple as they’d thought, and not just because they don’t have a keyboard player anyone.
Overall:
It’d been a while between reading blurb and agreeing to take part in this tour and me actually reading the book, so I found myself a little confused as to who Steph was meant to end up with for quite a while. Then when it was apparent, I could only see it working out in a couple of ways (I was pretty close to being right) which then had me questioning how it could possibly be wrapped up properly in the short bit left of the book.
The way Steph’s life direction seemed to constantly shift depending on a variety of variable kept you on your toes and reminded me of how I’d plan my chess moves. You could make your choice based on the information available to you, but when guessing what might happen you also needed to consider all the possible ways the cast of characters might behave or actions, they might take to get us to the end goal you know needs to happen.
Partner the shifting sands of possibilities with the beautiful Italian coastline, you can definitely lose yourself in the story and the locations and just soak it in. Such a great story that had me wishing I could be with them out in the sun and relaxing with good food and wine.

As soon as we met Stef, I just knew I'd love her and really enjoyed getting to know her and her back story. A story that contains many triggers, yet it is written with sensitivity and the result is an amazing selection of characters who we get to know throughout this wonderful stay in Italy.

And once again, this author has provided his readers with a wonderful story, mostly set in a beautiful Italian town, I’m sure I’m not the only reader to wish they could be transported to the town while reading the book. It’s always interesting to read about the struggles of fame, but I certainly wanted to cheer Stephanie on as she met these challenges. Needless to say, as I do with all of this author’s books, the moment I started reading I couldn’t stop until I finished it. This is the first of the new series and I look forward to more.

Never Too Late is that book that sweeps you away to Italy and makes you yearn for a holiday. It’s an entertaining and heart warming read, full of characters that you connect with and fall in love with from the very first page.

A book that is perfect for reading on holiday or one to read when you are considering booking a holiday as with it’s vivid descriptions of Italy it will put it at the top of your list!

This was a beautiful story of finding love and your path in life when you least expect it. Steph did not realize an all expanse paid trip to Italy would push her towards love and the future she desires. She also is mentally practical and trying to consider how this will affect her current life. How will she decide on how to move forward being true to her heart?

T.A. Williams’ books go straight on my list and I have now reviewed many. His books always tug at my heartstrings and leave me with a smile on my face. They are the ultimate definition of “feelgood” with a capital F. T.A. Williams does romance wonderfully well, as he does relationships in general. Life issues are so realistic.

I always feel like I am in Italy when I have a T.A. Williams book, as the towns, cities, villages and scenery as well as the sights and sounds always seem to be immediately immersive.

Great characters. I especially enjoyed Steph’s backstory, as I identified with her being in a country she loved and speaking the language fluently (in my case, I speak Spanish, but feel the same thrill at being in a country I love).

Add to this a sunny climate and a cute dog. These things always win me over as well as Trevor’s excellent attention to detail.

Never Too Late has different themes running through it: the first part focuses on the band members and how they find the music in their lives again. The second is more focused on Steph and Robert, although the ups and downs of their life are apparent from the beginning.

The whole book is about working to make sense of the past, forgive, heal and move on in the best way you can.

This was such a delightful read! Steph is given the opportunity to go to Italy to work with an award-winning band while they record their comeback album after, years before, tragedy had strike. It was like having Queen descend on an Italian villa to record a new album! Williams transports us to Italy by the sensory descriptions we get to read and immerse ourselves in. I loved the lovely Labrador who takes centre stage in this story! I have always loved romance stories that start with the divine intervention of a dog! It pegs for a great and emotional read most of the time!

Never too Late by TA Williams was a marvellous read. There was the perfect balance of angst and love to go around and, as always with this author, the descriptive details he puts into his settings is wonderful. Not only could I picture myself on the Italian Riveria, but I could taste the food. Seriously, this author should put out a cook book! Dreams are lived and broken, and a masterpiece of a story is presented for our delight. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. My thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the reading copy.

In Never Too Late, we follow Steph, a recording engineer who travels to Italy with the opportunity to work on a reunion album for a well known and loved rock band. If there's one thing that T.A. Williams has mastered, it's his descriptions of Italy. I love how easily transported the reader is into his settings. He really knows how to write an escape and help you to feel as though you're truly there in the story! T.A. Williams really has a way of appealing to the reader's senses in all the best ways!

The characters in this story were really a great addition as well. All of the characters were so well developed and they mixed well in this story. With a mix between famous rock stars and down to earth non-famous people, I felt like interactions between them were well written.

For me, personally, I was hooked at the beginning of this story and then it started falling a little flat for me. Though the story was unique and captivating, something about it just didn't work for me about halfway through, which is why it's been knocked to four stars. I think maybe I just liked the part with the band so much more than the romance that was included in this story.

Overall, this was a lovely story and I can't wait to read more by T.A. Williams! If you are looking to escape to Italy through a story, you must check out his books!

MY REVIEW:
The glamour of Hotel Portofino, the sex, drugs and rock and roll life of the Osbournes and a twist in the plot from a Barbara Cartland novel to keep readers guessing although there was always going to be a happy ending! Never Too Late is a fusion of all of those, set in Italy! What’s not to like?
The reader learns that a comeback album is going to be made by an aging rock band called Royalty who were as big as Pink Floyd or Queen in their day so our heroine, Stephanie, a talented, beautiful half-Italian recording engineer is given the opportunity of a lifetime to assist in this project.
It is an interesting story with unfolding layers. Perfectly plausible that burnt-out and faded rock stars should want to recreate those moments of adulation and fame and chase the high that rock music once gave them. However, sex drugs and floods of money have not always been the best ingredients to happy, contented family life as we learn throughout the story and there are undercurrents of sibling rivalry. Keith Bailey, the band’s leader, is renowned for his outrageous and difficult behaviour but as Steph arrives at his luxurious Italian villa, she wonders if she is going to like him and his entourage.
“Hopefully, Keith had mellowed with the passage of the years. She had met enough arrogant overpaid performers over the past few years to know that the prospect of spending up to a month among such people might not turn out to be a bed of roses”
As the story unveils itself, we take a liking to most of the characters and the bond which develops between Steph and the remaining band members.
The author mentions that one of the band, Vince the keyboard player took his own life which is how Steph, starts to fill the gap, as a fill-in pianist for the new album. In subliminal undertones, the author makes a comment that death was always part of the whole legacy, part of the deal with the devil that rock stars made. They partied hard, lived rough, lived the fullest of lives and made fantastic music but many paid for it by dying young.
We can take a guess that the illusive handsome musically talented son, Robert who lives in the house off the headland will be part of the story somehow and why not?
“Steph could not escape the fact that she found Keith’s younger son unexpectedly appealing, but she knew she would do well to steer clear of someone like Robert. Firstly, he was rich and famous and secondly because she was well aware of his reputation as a ‘donnailo’ or womaniser”
The romance which develops between the Robert and Steph is realistic and engaging. Although the author shows a clever use of a tried and tested ‘friends to lovers’ device by incorporating emotional conflict and a project which distracts them so they don’t get together until the end, there is however, emotional depth and vulnerability revealed in both characters. Steph must fly back to London after a health scare and over dinner one night, Robert reveals his own insecurities.
“I’ve spent the last few years living a hedonistic lifestyle, an artificial, superficial life. That’s ok for a while then the day comes when you realise there has to be more”

Why I recommend this book
Sig Williams excels at cosy storytelling and he really should have his own genre named uplifting escapism. He provides a gateway to another world that is different from yours, a go-to when you just want to escape from your own reality. The author effortlessly blends the gorgeous Italian landscape and its alluring glamour with the indulgences and extravagance that fame brings.
The story does encompass serious themes albeit in a light-hearted way. The subject matter in this book is quite a clever play on the mystique of rock stars and their search for eternal youth. Rock stars live to perform. Their creativity and talent can never be suppressed and seek immortality in their music. The book has warmth and wisdom.
But as always, Sig Williams captures the intoxicating and authentic flavour of Italy, the lifestyle and that is not easy unless you have lived there. Italians are passionate about life’s pleasures and the author excels in his descriptions of this hedonistic way of living. Food represents the biggest expression of Italian culture as a way to enjoy and socialise around a nice meal, a festival, a family celebration, or an event.
“Beppe returned with a huge plate of hand-carved ham and salami. Along with it were slices of melon, fresh figs, and a pot of goat’s cheese. He mumbled a quiet buon appetito and withdrew. Antipasti were followed by pappardelle ai Carciofi – wide strips of pasta covered in a creamy sauce made with fresh artichokes from Beppe’s garden”
Never Too Late is a comforting and enjoyable read.

AUTHOR BIO:
TA Williams studied languages at university, then lived and worked in France and Switzerland before going to Italy for seven years as a teacher of English. He and his Italian wife returned to the UK with their little daughter (now long since grown up) where he ran an English language school for many years. Now he lives in a sleepy little village in Devonshire. He has been writing almost all his life but it was only seven years ago that he finally managed to find a publisher who liked his work enough to offer him his first contract.
The fact that he writes escapist romance is something he still finds hard to explain. His early books were thrillers and historical novels. He says that maybe it’s because there are so many horrible things happening in the world today that he feels the need to provide something to cheer up his readers. His books provide escapism to some gorgeous locations.
