while “no saints among us” is very well written, it wasn’t for me. roman, a physician, escaped communist czechoslovakia as a child and goes on to participate in a dangerous mission.

i felt this novel was very light on imagery; i wanted to see what the cities looked like to really root me in place. the dialogue is very psychological, but i found it lacking urgency. this is a novel written with a lot of heart. unfortunately, i found it rather boring. we don’t get any in depth looks at motivations or desires, the characters feel stagnant.

thank you netgalley and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review!

Well written book. Excellent hook that grabs you from the first page. Protagonist is a very like able character. Interesting psychological aspects of what humans are willing to exchange for freedom and the consequences. Great spy story traversing over multiple countries. Highly recommend reading. SDZ
