The interactions are even more interesting, in particular, the attraction between Michael Costa and Kara Quinn, a work in progress and fascinating to watch. The storyline and actions of the bad guys and the team working to help the parish detective solve the town girls gone because town players are not interested, will keep your mind jumping at possibilities and connections. I have been a huge fan of Allison Brennan for years. This is hands down now one of my all time favorites of hers. It was bone chilling. I couldn't wait to get home from work, make dinner and then just get back to it. I will be recommending this one to everyone for sure!

Seven Girls Gone, to me, is a true blue detective novel. The readers are presented with the situation and we slowly start to uncover the identity of the killer through our FBI and local police characters. I really enjoyed the different POVs of all of the characters. In some novels, I find it hard to follow when there are more than a few POVs but I was pleasantly surprised how well this book flowed even with all of the perspectives that we got. I loved the setting of this book, I am a sucker for Louisiana Bayou...especially during Mardi Gras! I did find this novel to be a bit slow and long, that is not a bad thing just something to note for other readers. The downfall I had was that I wanted more, it wrapped up way too quickly in the last few chapters. The reader will find out all answers to the mystery which is nice if you are not one who likes unanswered questions. I would totally recommend this book to others if they love a good detective story.

I hadn't realized this was a part of a long-standing series, but I was engaged nonetheless. I'm a sucker for police procedurals with some drama thrown in, and this fit the bill. Although I think it would have been helpful to have some background knowledge of the characters, it could possibly be read as a stand-alone. I think Allison Brennan is a very talented author, and the book read very quickly!

This is part of a series, I have read tow of the prior books. And this one is even better than the books before it! This gripping thriller is perfect and just what I needed. This was sully of suspense and chills. I loved it! Can't wait for more in this series!

Seven Girls Gone by Allison Brennan had good pacing, and the author has a nice writing style that held my interest.

Seven Girls Gone is a good addition to the Costa and Quinn series. It can also be read as a standalone book. The plot is good and had me guessing. And I enjoyed the atmospheric location and descriptions.

Overall, a solid Costa and Quinn book with a good mystery and intrigue.

What an awesome book! The story drew me in from the first page and kept me riveted to the story! Allison Brennan is one of my favorite authors so I expected an exciting book and I was not disappointed. As the detective and the FBI investigate each of the 7 dead and missing women and the law enforcement people they believe are responsible they also fear for their own lives and those of the people they love. They were so many twists in this story that kept me guessing until the end. Anyone who likes mystery/thriller books will like this book. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

In the deep south, a cop struggles to understand the what's happening behind the deaths of seven women in his hometown. When the FBI comes to town, the small group of law enforcement digs into the various players - drug lords, prostitutes, and corrupt cops, oh my.

This book was a well-paced and obviously well-researched read. I found myself rooting for Winnie throughout the whole book, as well as Toni. The situation they're dropped into feels almost impossible in the beginning, and they slowly, slowly, slowly work through what is actually happening.

I really appreciated the unknowns throughout the book - the characters had to play it safe through to the very end because they weren't sure where the corruption was, or who might come after them next.

Overall, I'd say this is a <b>solid police procedural</b>. There were a few too many characters so I'd suggest jotting some of them down on a post it note if you can spare a couple seconds (necessary though, since the entire premise of the book is seven girls gone & most of the confusion for me at least, came from the names of the seven girls).

I love Allison Brennan's books so much! And boy, does she deliver in Seven Girls Gone. This Costa/Quinn novel picks up immediately where the previous one left off - and sends the FBI mobile response team to Louisiana to help out Michael's friend, Beau, who is a St. Augustine police officer. Girls have gone missing, evidence lost, cases not prosecuted, and the entire thing stinks. The team arrives to assist Beau and find themselves in a town that seems to have its own rules and no one willing to share information. And, one of the most fun characters in Seven Girls Gone is Toni, Beau's grandmother - and I love how the relationship developed between her and Kara. This book will keep the pages turning long after bedtime. It's absolutely fantastic! Ms. Brennen at her finest! Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, MIRA for an advanced reader of this book. Seven Girls Gone is part of Allison Brennan’s excellent Costa and Quinn series but can be read as a strong standalone. It is a lively, sometimes intense, thriller that moves very quickly and with a number of surprises.

Women have gone missing for 3 years and been found murdered in a small Louisiana Parrish. A local detective has been trying to make progress on the case but he is stymied by local politics and dirty cops. He asks a former Navy buddy who is with the FBI to try and help him. They run into all sorts of road blocks and don’t know who to trust. There are a lot of dirty cops and there is a complete lack of co-operation. Can they find the information they need before any more deaths and can they stay safe from, there are a lot of people who just want them to disappear thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This was a quick read and put together nicely. There was a good amount of second guessing and leads that unraveled that I didn’t expect that’s always pleasant surprise for a mystery/thriller.

The characters develop nicely and the plot is well thought out.

Parts of the dialog and character development got hard to follow for the local characters which could’ve been described better but overall a great book.

What a ride! I can't get enough of Quinn and Costa.

In Seven Girls Gone, Beau, a detective in a small town, has been trying to get some drug dealers/murderers off the streets. He decides he needs someone to run things by and calls his Navy buddy Micheal who's on Costa's FBI mobile team. Kara ends up going there with Micheal and sees that this needs to end so he calls Matt and the whole team arrives to help. Ofcourse, the local cops don't want any part of their "help" and soon it's clear that there is corruption running very deep. The team, with Beau's help, get to the bottom of it but not before the other shoe drops and things go crazy. To me, the best part about this book is that Quinn and Costa finally have the "talk" about where their relationship is going.

This is book four in the Quinn & Costa series.
It was actually my first of the series but I’ll now go back and read the backlog.
It’s a great thriller! Lots of twists and for the most part it held my interest. I do wish I would have read the first three before hand but I’ll do it now regardless.

Seven Girls Gone is the fourth book in this series.
Kara and Matt investigate the case of seven girls dead and missing after they were at the Magnolia Inn. Some of the bodies turn up in the bayou. Kara and Matt suspect corruption in high places. This was a very thrilling read full of twists and turns. Thanks NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC that will be published April 25, 2023!

Mystery and intrigue…talented author…popular author. Murder and mayhem…The main character tries to solve the mystery of missing murdered women. Red herrings abound. Although the story is intriguing, the language takes away from the main idea. That being said, this will appeal to mystery fans. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. I enjoy books by Brennan. This one just had too much that I did not like such as the language. However, I will continue to look for her books.

Allison Brennan’s, 4th book in the Quinn and Costa series is the best yet!

Seven missing women, a corrupt police department, unsolved murders, and a local community that does not like outsiders, these elements make “Seven Girls Gone,” come alive. The twists and turns are clever, stylish, and dangerous. The relationship between Kara and Matt still rides a fine line, between professional and personal, but the attraction is elemental and sparks fly. these two characters are complex, and they make the story feel so real, as they battle the evil in front of them.

The novels in this series are suspenseful, well written, and sometimes mesmerizing. The diligence with which Brennan weaves a complex character count, forensic investigation, and dangerous plot, makes the story flow smooth and quick. I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the series!

On a side note, the books in this series can be read individually but will be more solid in development if you read them in order.
