I love Nick Seluk’s work! Heart and Brain are always depicting thoughts and actions that make me feel less alone.

I was unfamiliar with Nick Seluk and this series before getting this book but it's such a cute collection! The comics are funny and charming and relatable. I'm a new fan!

As usual, Seluk's Heart & Brain series is at once uplifting and realistic, but this was teetering at the edge of corny optimism for me. I much prefer his earlier Heart & Brain collection where it was a bit more nihilistic and pessimistic, but still retains a sense of realism and hopefulness that I enjoyed. This was an okay read.

Many thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for the e-ARC!

An enjoyable romp through life experiences with Nick Seluk/The Awkward Yeti's anthropomorphized organs.

Ebook received for free through NetGalley

I’ve been following this creator on Instagram so pumped at the chance to read there book. Life got in the way so I didn’t manage to finish it before the book expired but the bit I read was great. Definitely a treat.

I love Awkward Yeti's Heart and Brain comics, and I'm so happy to see a new book about these two with some other organs showing up in some panels. This book has the same familiar style as the artist's previous works - a delightful mix of fun and relatable moments. It deals with desired (which the Heart represents) and rationale (Brain). There are always contradicting moments in our lives that this book shows well. It also sensitively delivers mental health awareness, even with its humor. There are also great panels about professional lives, anxiety, and depression.

I'm a sucker for fun, kooky comics! This was a fast read but very delightful. Will definitely be adding this to our collection.

I've never read any of this series but the previous books are on my TBR now. I thought the first section was the weakest, but it gets better and better. So cute, great artwork.

I had a great time reading this book. Each page put a fun spin on a situation, and many of them felt relatable to me. Along the way we saw these two organs grow and learn, and find ways to work better together. Most people will have a lot of fun reading this book.

Good things come in small packages. Sometimes good things aren’t so good when in large quantities. And that’s how I feel about these comics and cartoons. I do love seeing the random panels online or even daily on a calendar but all together in one book it’s just too much. There doesn’t seem to be any overarching storyline to keep you interested in turning the page. Maybe if I read these two pages a day instead of in one sitting, I would like it more. This is one of those “too much of a good thing” situations.

Book 78 of 200 ~ 2023

I LOVEEEEE THIS SERIESSSS....

NICK is a frigging genius as he always seems to translate various viewpoints emotions or thoughts and link them to which of the organs would be relevant and how they would react.

Loveee thissss....

Nick Seluk offers another thoughtful and funny collection of comics, featuring our favorite odd couple, Heart and Brain. Although they will forever clash on every topic under the sun, heart and brain are an endearing pair. I also enjoy Tongue who manages to get around Brain's sensible plans every time. I am all too familiar with Tongue's untamable desires myself. I would suggest this collection for teens and adults.

What can be said about Nick? His characters are amazing, and they depict so many daily situations in a real and relatable way. When you read this book, you laugh, think, cry, ask, regret, wonder and laugh again! Totally recommend it!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Things I will never not love:
1. The Awkward Yeti
2. Heart and Brain

Yes, I know Heart and Brain are part of the Awkward Yeti, and yes, I know that was a double negative. I don't care. I can't think of anyone that would not enjoy this collection of comics, and as someone with mental health issues, I find myself deeply relating to it sometimes.

I love the cave man panel, heart is hilarious! This was a great collection of Nick's work. I love that Nick introduces each section with a bit more about his life and what he has been going through.

Any one of these panels could be turned into a motivational poster for you office cubicle.

Highly recommend.

This is so much more than just a collection of amusing comic panels. It's more of a meditation on mental health and all of the nonsense that our wonderful, imperfect Hearts and Brains (and other supporting characters) can produce. While I did chuckle a few times, this is more rueful smile than gut-busting laugh. And that's OK. It's nice to know that everyone feels difficult or contradictory things sometimes--it makes them less heavy and scary. This was gentle and affirming and I felt better every time I picked it up.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This is your typical one-page short stories that are so popular nowadays: not overly complicated drawing style, funny situations, cute ones, heartwarming ones, a mixture of all three... Seluk does a good job in making the whole proceedings fun instead of a slog, you can turn one page after the other and find you have finished the whole book without noticing, but I didn't find anything here that was particularly original o funny. You will smile, you will chuckle, but you will also probably feel that you have read the same things before and probably some of them by the same author (or in previous pages in this same volume). I would still recommend it if you need to cheer up and read something easy and funny, but I would leave it at that.

Thank you #netgalley for this opportunity to read Heart & Brain Volume 4. I love this duo. They always made me laugh. I didn't love it as much as the other three volumes but still very good. 4 stars
