Chasing Proof Finding Faith by Tom Rudelius is an engaging read, documenting the authors experience of becoming a Christian through a process of investigation and discovery.

The book explores Tom’s path of enquiry, leading him to find evidence which encouraged him to become a Christian. The authors honest and open narrative detailing his personal thoughts and feelings through his journey to faith offers the reader helpful insight into the development of the authors understandings. It is evident Tom is a deep thinker, with an open minded approach to finding answers.

I found the book an interesting and satisfying read.

It is always interesting to discover a person’s exploration and journey to faith. The author was very forthcoming regarding his reasoning along the way. Also included Is the journey of his brother. Tom Rudelius made it very clear that he is very intelligent and this path to faith did not mean setting aside any sagacity. I couldn’t completely agree with all his conclusions. But I appreciate his honesty. This might be an interesting read for a skeptic.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley with no obligations other than an honest opinion.

A story about a person who sets out to disprove God, and finds himself believing in Him, is always inspiring. Every person’s journey to faith is different, and I love learning about how people come to belief in God. Tom’s experience was certainly unique; can you imagine coming to faith in God through failing multiple polygraph tests given by the US Secret Service? I was disappointed by some statements, such as his scoffing at the belief in a young Earth; however, I know Christians personally who hold the same belief. Seeing a scientist who believes in God, however, is inspiring.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley, and these are my honest thoughts about it.

A good book and a nice place to start for someone interested in Christianity. There were some things that I though was lacking such as the pacing of the book. I did adore the last part of the book and wished the rest of it was similar in nature. Overall, I would recommend.

Chasing Proof, Finding Faith: A Young Scientist’s Search for Truth in a World of Uncertainty by Tom Rudelius.

I enjoyed reading about the testimony of Tom Rudelius and found any parts relatable to my own life. The style of this book is really written as a testimony with questions posed and answered throughout the book but not everything is throughly flushed out in terms of arguments rather this book is written in a way that invites you to think about questions in an accessible way and provides some answers that could allow for you to dive in deeper if you wanted. I love that Tom is also real about his struggles even after coming to faith and being a Christian for a long time as that is something that I believe is relatable. Those doubts that come up are something to work through and can be worked through. Tom mentions that even if our faith is not in Christianity we are still putting it somewhere, even atheism requires faith.
Overall, I found this testimony to be encouraging and would definitely recommend this book!

I opened this book last night after dinner. Although I put it down a few times and told myself, "That's enough for tonight." I kept picking it up to read just one more chapter. I couldn't stop until after midnight when I had read through the epilogue. The book reads quickly and feels like a conversation. So much so that one will forget they are conversing with a theoretical physicist.

What a great read that fits in an under-served space. Few books invite a reader into the journey of faith. In Chasing Proof, Finding Faith, Dr. Rudelius opens his life, mind, and heart for the reader to journey with him. Tom walks through the obstacles he faced even to consider Christianity, the complex events that led him to embrace faith, and the difficulties he has faced since starting to follow Jesus.

I love Tom's humility and vulnerability. He shares his faith challenges and mental health issues he continues to walk through as a believer.

This book is excellent for any believer wrestling with issues of science and faith. Also, this is a book that I would give to someone unconvinced that following Jesus makes sense--and there aren't many Christian books I would say that about.

Thanks to Tom for writing down his journey for others to share. I first heard about Tom when he was still a freshman at Cornell. That fall, I met his twin brother, Steve, at Northwestern as Steve was starting to explore Christianity. I observed Tom's journey to faith from a distance and admired his contribution as a person of faith in the academy.

This book is a memoir about a physicist's journey to faith. He confronts doubts along the way, and these doubts force him to confront the basic question: does science support or contradict the existence of God? The author is a string theory expert, and I found myself wishing he would've explained more about string theory and how it relates to a higher power. Despite this, I enjoyed reading the author's faith journey.
