This was not nearly as detailed as I would have hoped. The beginning of each section had educational, thought process style advice but it quickly devolved into here’s a character in 6 steps. There’s nothing wrong with that exactly, but I don’t feel like I was given enough tools or information to really start drawing with ease. This was a cursory exploration of the topic at best. While the illustrations themselves were good and the information helpful, I just wanted more from this book. More diagrams, more breakdown of how muzzles function, and furry hands/claws. How to warp and adapt from traditional drawing. Basically more depth to the lessons. It’s not bad, but it’s by no means the best option out there.

In this book you can find a lot of ideas about how to draw manga furries. But it's not a beginner's guide about learning how to draw. The usual basics are explained like tools and materials, colors, hairstyles, anatomy and so on. But not that much in detail. Most artists, even beginners, will already know some of the basics. Most interesting are the different furries with all their special features, their facial expressions, and anatomy. But I also had fun with the part about creating your own fursona. I'm not sure if the templates at the end of the book are really useful. But it's ok for beginners. It's a nice book if your looking for some ideas about furries.

A solid helpful instructional book that's just a step up from beginner level. packed with a ton of great material to dive into!
However, while the content is top-notch, the artwork, especially the cover art, really needs a touch of uniqueness. With so many similar books out there, it's important for a book to have that stands out. . But overall, the wealth of information in this book makes it a solid choice for those looking to expand their skills.
