A decade old crime brings Lila back to her hometown of Trident. Stewart, her ex-fiancé, is surprised to see her back in town. Lila wants answers and the more information they discover, the more dangerous it becomes for Lila and those around her. Will they be able to finally understand what happened so long ago or will someone be able to bury the secrets along with Lila and Stewart?
I enjoy and small-town story and love mysteries. This story held my interest and is one I would recommend.

The book was a disappointing read. It felt as if the story continually repeated itself:

1. Try to kidnap 1. protagonist
2, Break window (usually a car window)
3. Get away safely
4. Do it again

It left this reader wanting a plot that would allow one to follow the investigation and finally arriving at a satisfactory conclusion. Alas, it was not to be.

The book may be satisfying to some, but this reviewer can only give the book 2-½ stars.

10 years ago a robbery featured Lila and Stuart dads leaving his dad dad and her dad missing but with newly uncovered evidence Lila might finally get the closure they need. The problem is that someone is trying to silence Lila with a few deadly attempts to stop them from looking further into what's going on letting them to believe there was someone else in the mix and needs to figure out what's going on and who is the person before they really take someone out.

Man this book was non-stop with the action and I definitely love that. There was just so much going on that it really kept me on my toes and had me never wanting to put this book down because I needed to know more. There was just so much twist and turns and when I thought things were starting to look okay of course they weren't. Aside from the whole person trying to silence them bit there was a slight look into Lila and Stuart relationship. Clearly they still had feelings for each other but Lila was only there to get their closure I mean she has a whole life where she was and it was interesting seeing how that would play out. This book was a clean romance which I appreciate. All around if you just love and miss through suspense books then you're going to really like this one I really enjoyed it.

A clean second chance romance/mystery. You're immediately thrown into the mystery involving both Lila and Stewarts fathers. As well as we find out right away that Lila and Stewart were high school sweethearts. Will Lila's showing up back in her hometown 10 years later reunite her and Stewart or just make the separation greater? So much adventure, I was sucked from the very first chapter!

An action packed suspense that brings together Lila and her ex-fiancé Sheriff Stewart Duncan together as they fight to unravel the truth behind what drove them apart a decade ago.

A fast-paced read full of suspense as they work to stay ahead of the killer, I liked how this book brought Stewart and Lila back together and forced them to face their past. I liked that Stewart is very protective of Lila, as they remember what made them such a great couple so many years ago.

Overall, this was a quick and entertaining read with great characters that I was cheering for the whole time. Sometimes though it felt like most of their relationship was falling back on what was built ten years ago. I liked the themes of second chances in this action-packed read!

Montana Cold Case Conspiracy by Sharon Dunn is a Love Inspired Suspense.

I loved the romance in this story. It’s a second chance romance with their fathers’ murder/disappearance between them. I loved the how the story began, the tension between them, the distrust and sparks. And then, as the story and danger progressed, so did their relationship. And there was lots of danger! I loved how the mystery unfolded, how determined Lila was to find answers and how Stewart changed over the course of the story. It all made this a page-turning read.

If you enjoy Love Inspired Suspense, this is a great read!

This book mixes danger, determination, faith and romance in a way that is appealing! As a result of a robbery 10 years ago, Lila Christie leaves town, and also her fiancé and her missing father. Her fiancé, Stewart Duncan, was left with his father dying as a result of the robbery. Now returning to discover what happened to her beloved father, Lila stirs up a hornet's nest of danger everywhere she turns. This is a suspenseful, second chance, fast paced book. Lila Christie and Sheriff Stewart Duncan have quite a past. When they find they must work together and he wonders if he can keep her safe. They must learn to try to understand where they other comes from and how differently their views took them. There are twist and turns in this book and all while trying to figure out a 10 year old cold case. I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.

This book is so good! It hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. It's a second chance romance with just the right amount of mystery, suspense and drama to keep you turning the pages. If you are a fan of Christian romantic suspense, grab this book.

Ooo, this one was an interesting twist. I loved that the mystery actually included a link between the two main characters in this one. Stewart and Lila are also relatable and I loved reading their story. The mystery and romance were well written!

This is a Clean Second Chance Romantic Suspense. The beginning just drops you right into the action and drama, but it was done really well. I got pulled into it right away, and I loved getting to know the characters. I figured out who was back all the craziness way before it was revealed, but that did not take away from me enjoying this book. This was a fast moving story with a ton of action and suspense with some romance put into it. I really loved the ending. I also love to say the cover of this book fits this story so well. Lila left Trident and her fiancee Stewart behind after her father was accused of robbery. Now 10 years later she is back in town, and old feelings are stirred up between Lila and Stewart. Those feelings don't have much time to grow before Lila's life is endangered by someone is clearly doesn't want her to interfere with this cold case. Lila and Stewart are being put in danger time after time, but they are depending on each other for survival.

This was a well-written, suspense novel with a bit of romance underpinning the story. It is part of the Love Inspired series, it is a clean read, light on inspirational talk. Fast moving and easy to read.

Lila is determined to prove that her father was an innocent victim in the robbery that claimed the life of her ex-fiance's father. Stewart is angry and frustrated that Lila is back in town stirring up terrible memories and heartache. As Sheriff, he can't possibly believe that she has also stirred up something much more sinister.
I received this book from Harlequin through NetGalley and this is my own unsolicited opinion. Author Sharon Dunn has done a good job inserting little pieces of evidence along with serious action in the plot. I love a mystery that challenges me to figure out 'who dun it'. I did figure the 'who' out. I really like this story and the unresolved personal issues between Haley and Stewart. It's a very good story and I recommend it as a clean mystery and romance.

My Thoughts: I liked this book. It is definitely one where you just need to enjoy all the drama, action, and romance and not think too hard about the overall plot.

There are so many times where she almost gets killed, that it’s a bit unbelievable that she’s still alive.

If you can get past that however, it’s a fun ride of a read, and I liked the sweet romance too.

This was a lovely and thrilling Christian suspense read. It was a second chance and it mixed law enforcement with ranching. I enjoyed the cold case, murder mystery angle.

Now Lila is reopening the case and someone doesn't want to truth to come out. That someone will do anything to stop them.
