"Off the Map' is book #3 in Trish Doller's Beck SIsters book series. I have not read the other books in the series, but I will be picking them up at my local library today. Carla lives a life of travel around the world in her Jeep. She lives by a code that her single dad, Biggie, taught her : 'here for a good time, not a long time.' Carla's mom left her when she was five years old, and since then, her dad distracted Carla with travel and fun. He skipped over the hard conversations about why her mom left or how to process feelings. Instead, the two of them visited national parks and had adventures together.

Now at 33 years old, Carla continues her life of travel, which leads her to Ireland for her friend Anna's wedding. While in Ireland, she forms a connection with Eamon, who is the brother of Anna's fiance. Eamon and Carla spend time talking and drinking at a pub until they wind up back at Eamon's place. I don't usually like instalove romance stories, but this one really worked for me. They both push each other out of their comfort zones, and their instant connection transcends anything that either one of them has ever experienced before.

Carla hasn't been home in 6 years, since her dad's diagnosis of dementia. Her dad told her that he didn't want her to see him as his memory deteriorated, and she misses him. This is weighing heavy on her heart as she continues her travel lifestyle.

The book seems like two different stories put together- Carla and Eamon's romance and journey through Ireland and Carla's emotional journey with her father's illness. I cried at many points in the book, and I didn't expect it to be as emotional as it was. The book also had several steamy scenes with Carla and Eamon.

I listened to the audiobook, and I really enjoyed the narrator. She added a lot to the story, and I loved all of the voices that she used for the characters.

I had never thought about visiting Ireland before, but after reading "Off the Map', I am ready to book a flight to Ireland ASAP! I would definitely recommend

Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillian Audio for an advanced copy of this amazing audiobook.

After enjoying the first two books in this series for their adventure-focused romances, I was excited to dive into another (even though Carla is not a Beck nor a sister). The cover is perfection, and the book pulled me in quickly. Carla Black is on her way to Ireland for Anna Beck's wedding when she gets sidetracked with the best man and groom's brother, Eamon, who was sent to pick her up. The insta-attraction is strong as this book literally starts with a bang, then continues with Carla and Eamon exploring the country and their connection further.

I don't usually care for sex buddies to romance plot lines, but the way Carla and Eamon's relationship developed made this one work for me. The last quarter of the book had me deep in my feelings, so trigger warning to anyone else who has recently lost a parent. I would have liked to see more cameos from the characters from the first two books in the series. Overall, I enjoyed this book and recommend it for fans of this series. The audiobook in particular was great because the narrator did a fantastic job with the Irish accents. I look forward to seeing what Trish Doller comes up with next!

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for gifting me with an audio ARC to review. I loved it!

The latest installment of the Beck sisters series. This one is not as strong to me. The plot was a bit lacking and the ending wrapped up maybe too quickly. The narration is good, but not great.

💭Thoughts:
This is the third book in the Beck Sisters series. I own the first two, but haven’t read them yet. This one can be read as a stand-alone.

I feel very conflicted after listening to this book. It’s almost as if I read two different books sandwiched together. The first half of the book is an insta love story full of sex and not much substance. The second half is an emotional story of forgiveness and finding yourself. It felt strange and the ending very rushed.

There were plenty of parts to enjoy including all the references to travel, Carla’s love interest Eamon, Carla’s stepmom Stella, and the little gray kitten. Though I do wish both Eamon had been a more developed character. He was sweet and caring and I was rooting for a happy ending for him and Carla.

I enjoyed the narration and thought the narrator did a great job bringing all the characters to life. Definitely recommend the audiobook if you’re going to pickup this book.

Overall, this was an okay read for me. I strongly disliked the first half, but found myself enjoying the second half. Definitely an emotional rollercoaster for me.

This book was romance perfection. When the Best Man is in charge of picking the Maid of Honor up from the airport in Dublin for a wedding, fun times are sure to follow. I love the adventurous descriptions, but mostly I loved the dedication of each character to not losing themselves to a relationship.
Also, my bucket list of places to travel ix much longer now.

This was one of my most anticipated audiobooks of 2023. So THANK YOU, Macmillan Audio for my gifted copy 💚

In true Trish Doller fashion, Off the Map is a fun, heartfelt romance, and as this one is also narrated by the fabulous Sarah Naughton, the audiobook is superb!! 👏🏻

Carla (Anna from Float Plan's bestie) lives life on her own terms. She was raised by a single dad she calls "Biggie", who instilled a passion for travel from a young age. Carla spends as much time as possible seeing the world (and maybe also escaping the fact that biggie has dementia 🥺)! She's confident, smart, and savvy... And her motto is "Here for a good time, not for a long time." She is your quintessential "good time girl." And thought she speaks to Biggie on the phone / FaceTime regularly, she's not spending much time with him. Perhaps she's running away?

Eamon (the brother of Keane from Float Plan) is an Irishman who's in a bit of a rut. He's still coping with a recent break-up, and life isn't panning out how he'd intended, and he's in need of a change. Good thing, too, as he's about to meet Carla, who will definitely shake things up!

Carla goes to Ireland for Anna and Keane's wedding, and Eamon meets her at a pub as the two will drive to the wedding together. The chemistry is instant, and their physical attraction leads them directly into bed together within the first couple hours. After all, Carla's just there for a good time, and the sexy, charming Irishman is more than willing to give it to her. But as their drive to the wedding turns into adventure after adventure, these two realize that their chemistry is more than just physical.

I really enjoyed this one!! At first I thought it may be a little too insta love for me, but it wasn't. Yes, they immediately have sex. But the feelings come later. I enjoyed their journey, both individually and together. Again, Sarah Naughton's narration is top notch, and really adds to the whole experience! Though this is book 3 in an interconnected standalone series, it could technically be read as a standalone, though I do suggest reading the first two as it helps explain some backstory.

Trish Doller has this knack for creating messy, loveable characters, who are all dealing with some sort of trauma. She handles these sticky situations with so much care, and still manages to create a light, fun rom com. Overall this was really good. 4 stars!

Thanks for the ALC Macmillan Audio and NetGalley. 💓

This was such a sweet audiobook. Carla really made me a bit envious of the journeys she shared with her father who had dementia. Part of myself resonated with her as my aging father changes and is also a Vietnam vet.

I LOVED the first book in this series. It was so cute and I was expecting the same thing from this book. But, I don’t think this book was for me. The romance felt rushed. They are instantly hooking up after knowing each other for only 3-4 hours. It just… felt very random to me. Regardless, I do enjoy the writing of this book but this one wasn’t for me. The Narrator did a fantastic job and I believe I’ve listened to other books she has narrated before. Her voice is very soothing and I truly enjoyed it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the early audio book.

What’s quick fun read. The title and cover fits the story perfectly. Basically the story tells the tale of two individuals who’s life goes off the road from their plans when they travel together in Ireland. Carla Black treks the world to avoid going home and dealing with her father’s illness. Eamon Sullivan is stuck in a house he doesn’t like while dreaming of getting lost in the world. On their way to a wedding, they decide to travel the long way and explore places in Ireland that only an off road vehicle can maneuver. The trip guides them through a path of wandering sheep, a Sangria drinking bull and a sweet hospital couple all the while learning about each other. Their relationship seems perfect except they both are avoiding issues that drove them together in the first place. Carla runs home to be with her dad and Eamon plans to drive around the world, but with time and tragedy, they find each other again and realize that their love is the most important thing.

The audiobook was well done and a definite read in one day kind of book.

Thank you Netgalley for the advance copy.

This book was great! I read it in two sittings in a matter of hours. Both MCs were like able and relatable. Carla coming to terms and dealing with her fathers dementia was heartbreaking but also beautiful. I don’t usually love the instant love trope but honestly it worked so well here. Definitely pick this one up!
