Two best friends, a love of Agatha Christie, and a new case to solve! Alice and Iris are at their annual school’s Sadie Hawkins dance set at the famous Levy Castle, known for one of it’s most infamous deaths, Mona Moody- a classic film star who died almost a century ago. While at the party Alice is convinced Mona’s death was not an accident and that there was a crime involved.. but before she can investigate further she walks literally into a new crime scene of a fellow classmate on the ground in a pool of blood and standing over her is Alice’s ex-best friend with a knife in her hand. In Castle Cove, you can’t depend on the police to solve the crime, in fact, they are notorious for not solving crime, and Alice and Iris are both determined to find out what truly happened to their classmate and how it connects to the mystery of Mona’s death. This was such a fun sequel to the first book, I loved how much Agatha Christie stuff we got in this one and the mystery was a fun one to read about. I really like the friendship between Iris and Alice, I loved that they are partners and that they are always down to solve a mystery together despite all the drama in their lives, from parents, school, to boy drama. This was a fun read and I honestly hope that the authors make a third book because these are so much fun to read and I am always excited to see what mysteries these girls solve next! This is the perfect book for fans of mystery and Agatha Christie!

A serviceable sequel, but not better than the first book in my opinion. I still liked the characters and the mystery was totally readable. I'd gladly recommend it to those who are looking for a fun young adult book.

Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.
