This was a lovely feel good read about two great characters in flat mates Nancy and Alice. Nancy runs her own small business which is struggling so she’s thrilled when an opportunity comes her way and solves her issue with recruiting for a PA whereas Alice loves her job as a teaching assistant as it gives her the independence she craves from her parents. Both are brilliant characters and although this story is told over a short time frame it works really well with plenty of character action including from the other fab characters. This is a really positive, uplifting and relaxing read which I sped through in no time. 9/10

Loved it!!! As soon as I started reading this, I knew I would love it. At first I though Sir Richard would become Nancy's love interest, but then suspected it might be Freddy. I kept thinking Nancy was older than she actually was, while Freddy was younger. I knew Freddy would mess up anything he touched while "working" for Nancy. He almost kills himself while shredding paper. His proofreading and typing skills are a bit lacking. He emailed Claudia that she was busty (busy) and to order Filip strong drugs (storage drums). For all of Freddy's flaws with "working" an actual job, he's a pretty sweet guy. It was quite hilarious when he kept asking Nancy to make stuff with her broken arm, just to prove a point. Percy is scary and I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley or on the gorgeous grounds of Freddy's family home. At least they had an orangery to dash into. Too bad he didn't peck Arabella to death. She deserved it. Carrie's reaction to Lionel was priceless. Then Nancy tells her to behave or the family might stuff her. It wasn't a big shock when Nancy learns the truth about the contracts. Loved Otto and Carrie together. I had a suspicion who Dom would turn out to be, before Alice discovered his true identity. I can understand why Alice doesn't want to live with her parents. They never listen to what she is actually saying. Love the relationship between Alice and Nancy.

Definitely recommend the book. Loved the characters, writing style and story. I was smiling and laughing constantly Alice told Freddy he was used as a trampoline by Black Beauty. The stuffed room of horrors was not only creepy but funny. As soon as I started reading this, I knew I would love it. Look forward to reading more books by the author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Avon Books UK through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

“An invitation to Seashell Bay” is a story about two flat mates Nancy and Alice, both very determined to make their own way with their respective careers. It is a very enjoyable romantic comedy but it also covers important issues such as invisible illness, disability and in particular reminds us not to judge a book by it’s cover.

Nancy, owns the flat and runs a small business and Alice is working as a teaching assistant and trying to enjoy every moment of life living away from home for the first time.

Initially we meet Nancy as she tries to secure a contract with a big craft firm that might save her business from financial difficulties. Her story continues as she tries to juggle with business, her hopeless new PA, “posh” Freddy (who she believes came as part of the contract with the craft company) and looking after herself all with with a broken wrist. Freddy, offers to help Nancy and suggests she stays at his home whilst she works out how to get things sorted one handed. However, he is not just posh, he is heir to a beautiful estate, cue an invite to Seashell Bay where he states his staff can look after Nancy!

Meanwhile, Alice has had an awkward encounter at school with a gorgeous man she had met in a nightclub and exchanged a brief, tender & unforgettable kiss with. He is one of the parents of a child in her class, and almost certainly not single. The fact that she is going home to visit her parents for the holidays, is probably a good thing.

Other than in the beginning and at the end, the two women’s lives operate completely separately. They have become close as flatmates and so do refer to one another but are not together for the majority of the book both holidaying separately and having different challenges to overcome.

The book is full of mishaps, misunderstandings, heartwarming moments and there is even a madcap cat & dog chase scene! Some of the characters are quite naive but they are also charming & endearing. I think it is a super book that should keep you reading and and smiling.

Not my favourite book by this author, I fact it's probably the one I've least enjoyed. Mediocre storyline, it just didn't hook me in like her other books have.

Yes! I was punching the air when someone in a wheelchair was casually mentioned. But yes, let me also admit it took 50% of the book before I started to appreciate the characters and for the story to pull me in.

A funny, romantic, vulnerable, and disability positive book.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

Another breath of fresh air from Bella Osborne. I happily accepted her invitation to Seashell Bay and was delighted that I did. This is a lovely book to sit back in the garden with and while away the time, (which is what I did). I really wanted Nancy to succeed and loved her straightforwardness. If only more people were like her! From London to Devon this is a tale of taking chances and opening oneself up to opportunities that present themselves.
An excellent life lesson for us all. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Really fun story for roommates Nancy and Alice who live two quite different lives in London. Both are good characters and the story is fun. And Freddy is so easy to love!

Oh my . I loved this story. Perhaps my book of the year. A lovely story of 2 house mates Alice and Nancy. Both had problems. Alice had come to London to escape her over protective parents . The twists with that are amazing and definitely not what you think. Nancy runs her yarn company and ends up taking on a very privileged young man to prove something to his parents. Lots of twists and it was a great great read. Fantastic

A fun summer read full of humour, warmth and questionable characters youll either love or hate!

Another super read from Bella Osborne. Strong females, determined to succeed, Freddy who absolutely grew on me and Percy the naughty Peacock was a delight.

My favourite quote "Being in a relationship is like being a semi-detached house. However much effort you make you’ll always be judged by the state of your other half." Hilarious and true!

5*

Having read the first three parts as novellas, I was looking forward to reading the last part of Invitation to Seashell Cottage as I didn't want to leave it unfinished. I don't want to give too much away but I wanted to finish the story of Nancy and Alice with their respective love interests Freddy and Dom plus adorable Bonny.

This is a story set in two very different worlds: one of the aristocrats and a girl who is from a different life. It's rich meets poor as Freddy and Nancy clash when he becomes her new PA. Can he help her make her company a success after a devastating lost but also, maybe, steal her heart?

Another brilliant story from Bella Osborne that will keep you turning the pages.
