Excuse the language but Holy s#!@ that ending was amazing!

I was hooked from the first few pages, everything about this suspenseful thriller keeps you reading. This book is not one you can set down and come back to later, trust me I tried but I couldn't stop thinking about it.

The two POV plot lines seem unconnected for eighty percent of the novel except for having similar tales of domestic violence. There is one paragraph however where it just clicks and you're just sitting their scratching your head going how did I not see that already.

This is the first book I've read from Emily, it definitely won't be my last.

Highly recommend

I received a copy of this book through Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.

This story is told with alternating chapters between Lizzy and Beth.

As the story starts, Lizzy meets Zachary —her knight in shining armor—after her car breaks down and she’s trying to hitch a ride to her job at a diner. Zachary is the new doctor in the small town where she lives. She soon learns that he’s not as he seemed at first, but she has a secret, too.

Beth and her husband Ian are traveling on foot through the snow in upstate New York to his family’s cabin to clear it out to sell. When they make it to the cabin, Beth realizes that someone has been in the cabin very recently. Ian says it’s the caretaker, Ryan. When Ryan shows up at the cabin the next day, Beth feels like he is dangerous.

This was a quick, easy read that kept my attention. I liked Lizzy and Beth as characters. If you like short chapters, then this book is for you. This is also a nice read for winter. I would read another book by this author.

A story told from the POV of 2 women, each woman with a different story to tell. One woman is in love with her husband whilst the other…. Is not.

An excellent read. The book was page turning and even though you knew the twists coming, I still found the storyline really interesting. Emily Shiner is really good at creating suspense in her writing.

Writing a review of a book a reader should go blind into, is one of the hardest things to do.
So how to keep it simple:

• Must read!
• The atmosphere in this book is off the charts.
• A cabin in the woods and a top of the notch house… and they are both terrifying.
• Super fast paced
• Unexpected twists and turns

I am not saying any more. Go read it! Really! Now!

This had potential but unfortunately sticks to overdone tropes in domestic noir. This was both predictable and way too slow a burn for such a short book.

Thank you Netgalley for sending me an eARC of You Can't Hide!

You Can't Hide is a psychological thriller includes "You Didn't See It Coming" plot twist, full of suspense with dark contents narrated by two FMCs-Lizzy and Beth.
Here's a few words to describe the plot: tingling, gritty, action-packed.

Binge read everything in one sitting as it keeps me on edge since the beginning.

Loved it!!! Its a super quick read and flickes between the two povs. Its pretty straight forward with a few big reveals aling the way. It is a tad predictable but that may just be because I read a lot of domestic noirs and there are only so many plots that can be written really! And I really didn't kind that I had predicted the big reveal and I still loved the journey to get there. The characters were well written and I was really invested in the outcome. I also liked that there was quite an eerie atmosphere to the story aswell so it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.

I had high hopes for this book. I liked the premise of the book almost immediately. I love multiple POV. However, I called the main twist within the first 2 chapters of the book. I probably have read too many thrillers so some things are not a surprise anymore. However, the writing in this book is pretty good and the character development is also good. Plus there were some parts like the ending that surprised me.

If easily triggered; look up some things beforehand. Don't want to give spoilers but should be noted.

I have read a couple of books by this author, and really enjoy her work. I find it hard to put her books down, and have read late into the night to see what happens next.
Ian and Beth are desperate to have children, so they decide to try IVF. To be able to afford it, they decide to sell their cabin in the woods, and visit it to clear it out ready to sell. Ian organised a caretaker for the cabin, and when they arrive, they meet Ryan. But Ryan isn't there to take care of the cabin, he knows secrets about Beth that if Ian found out, he would leave her, and take with him all hope of her having a child. Ryan is going to give away Beths secrets, unless she does what he says, no matter how horrific it is. Beth has only one way out, if she can take it.
This is a gripping psychological thriller, I really enjoyed it.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc.
This is a fast-paced domestic thriller told in dual pov. The stories of Lizzy and Beth kept me on the edge of my seat The chapters were long enough to get the point across but also short enough to let me get back to the opposite POV. I read this very quickly but enjoyed it a lot. I did wind up guessing the twist but it didn't bother me because the book was so well written IMO. I've never read from this author before but I will definitely be going to search out more books from her.

TW: domestic violence/abuse

“You Can’t Hide” by Emily Shiner is a psychological thriller that had my attention from the first page. I couldn’t put this book down! The two different POV kept me on the edge of my seat wondering how theses stories would connect. Thanks so much publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!

4/5⭐️
You Can’t Hide was really immersive from start to finish, and kept me engaged the whole time.

There’s dark secrets, lot’s of eerie vibes and scary tension that freezes you in place… with a hint of tragedy too.

And while some of the plot points were predictable, it was still so satisfying to see everything play into action.

First of all thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of You Can't Hide in exchange for an honest review.

You Can't Hide is a fast paced twisty thriller following the story of Lizzy and Beth, the multiple POV's line up really nicely and weren't confusing at all. I absolutely loved the way this story came together and it had me gripped from the start. I would definitely recommend this book.

4.5 stars rounded down. **TRIGGER WARNING** Domestic Abuse/Violence.

Beth and Ian are desperate to have a child. Sos much so that they decide to sell his family cabin in upstate New York to pay for IVF. when they arrive at the cabin, they meet Ryan, the caretaker. But Ryan is not who he says he is. He's here because he knows Beth has a dark secret. And now he intends to use it against her. He threatens to tell Ian everything about Beth's past unless she does exactly what he says.

With an atmospheric setting, lots of twists and a good plotline, this is a thoroughly enjoyable read. Beth thought she had escaped from her past until Ryan turns up. The pace is fast, and it's told from Beth and Lizzy's perspectives. You never knew what was going to happen next. The tension builds throughout this book. I was shocked by the ending. I could not put this book down.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #InkubatorBooks and the author #EmilyShiner for my ARC of #YouCan'tHide in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first novel by Emily Shiner and I can guarantee it will not be my last! Wow...what an awesome read! From the first chapter I was captivated by the story and wanted to know more. I loved how each chapter went back and forth between story lines and it was super easy to follow. From the get-go I was invested in the characters; some of the characters I absolutely loved and was routing for and others I grew to strongly dislike. With each page I was trying to figure out how the stories would be connected. It only took one jaw-dropping line for me to figure out one of the major twists but that did not ruin the story at all. If anything, it made me read quicker to see if I was right and to see how it would all come together. I would highly recommend this book if you're looking for an awesome page-turner with some great twists. There are definitely quite a few "oh my goodness" moments.
Needless to say, I have already found and downloaded more of Emily Shiner's books.

You Can’t Hide by Emily Shiner captured my attention from the very first chapter! Told in dual point of views, we follow the stories of Lizzie and Beth, two women that hold a secret from their past.
Lizzie is married to adoctor that appears to be dreamy, but is actually a psychopath. He tortures her both mentally and physically at every opportunity.
Beth and her husband are trying to get pregnant, and in order to pay for IVF they decide to sell their family cabin. When they arrive at the cabin to prepare it for sale, they are met by an unexpected visitor.

I thought this book was exactly what a thriller should be: Fact-paced, dark, and bingeable! I read this book in one sitting and never considered putting it down.

My minor issues with the book centered around Beth’s storyline and it being what was expected from the book description. I wish there had been more to decipher or surprising in her timeline other than the mystery man Ryan. I found myself enjoying the Lizzie POV more. and wanting to see how her story would unfold. I figured out the plot twist early on, and wish the author had made it a bit harder to foresee (different chapter titles perhaps). Even with the predictable storyline, I was invested and on the edge of my seat until the very end! The character development was well done, and I was rooting for the women to survive their scary situations. I will definitely work through Shiner’s backlist and see what other stories she can scare me with!

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

You know a book is well written when you are caught up in your own emotions, and especially when you feel strong feelings such as hatred towards a character (like I did towards Zachary). I constantly wanted to grab Lizzy, pull her from him and make everything okay. Then the big reveal happens, and you suddenly feel even worse for Lizzy. What she did was wrong, but she had no choice. After the reveal I felt the ending was rushed, and I would have liked to know more about Ian and Beth’s future together moving forward from the big reveal. Overall, I enjoyed this book and it kept me on my toes throughout. Would recommend for any thriller lover, and I am keen to read more by Emily Shiner.
