My son thought this was a hilarious read when he’s bored. He also had favorites he wanted to retell his friends at school. The book is organized into categories which is great!

Hmmmm...well...uh...hmmm. I mean, there are some good jokes in here with tidbits of info to make you smarter, I guess. Most of it is just old jokes we've heard a million times and are now definitely not appropriate. I wouldn't put this in my library simply because it seems that it would be encouraging bullying. Lots of "Yo mamma" jokes that I could see starting fights. No thank you.
Two stars because there are a few good jokes in there.

Dive into a sea of humor and learning with this entertaining book! Designed for kids of all ages and young-at-heart adults, this collection of jokes covers a wide range of subjects, including animals, geography, health, holidays, math, music, poetry, science, sports, pop culture, and even "Yo Mama" jokes. Plus, it's loaded with classic dad jokes that will make you laugh and increase your knowledge at the same time. So, if you're up for a good laugh and expanding your mind, this book is for you! Just be warned, it's not for those who can't appreciate humor or enjoy poking fun at others.

As joke books go, this one is not the worst, but it's also not breaking new ground. I've heard some of these before, but they're still pretty good. There were quite a bit of new jokes here that actually made me chuckle, so it's definitely worth having around. Dads everywhere will love it.

I hate to leave such a low rating but I cannot recommend this book. I tried very hard to read the whole thing in order to fairly review it but it was so unpleasant I couldn’t. The author is a teacher and judging by his complete lack of cultural awareness, he’s an elderly one. There is so much that’s offensive in this book and I’m astounded that someone who works with children could be so clueless about that. He is obsessed with “your mama” jokes and most of them involve making fat jokes. There are also lots of jokes about ugliness. Just mean, mean jokes. Then I got to the racist joke about a Native American woman giving birth on a hippopotamus hide and I was just done.

Sorry, cannot recommend and not willing to finish.

I read a temporary digital copy of this book via NetGalley

So this is a book of dad jokes all with some "smart " theme like math. It made me chuckle a few times and roll my eyes even more. I found a joke or two to tell at work which was nice. Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.

Sensational book. The title, Jokes Make You Smarter, is absolutely true. The author, a teacher of 7-12 year olds, would start his classes with jokes. These are classic jokes, some self written, and some new, to me, jokes. A wide collection of hilarious material, with thanks to the section on musician and musical instrument jokes (including picking on bass players and violinists). A huge variety of cleverness and, yes, jokes do make you smarter because you have to understand why they are funny, the disconnect, the logic and the illogic. I have found jokes to be central to my life and I also am a teacher, and have used humor all of my professional life. But this book is a joke book, very accessible, very well balanced, and is a great collection. While I read an advance copy, I will be first in line to purchase. Not just for youngsters, good for this 70 year old.
