I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

Shadow Of Death is part of a series the connects several books together which means the author will catch you up but might struggle with the connections that were started in the books before. That being said you can read it as a stand lone novel.
While the story is pretty predicable it is still able keep readers hooked until the end and still wanting the next book in the series.

I first ran across the Amy Larson & Hunter Forrest FBI series when my local library ran out of copies of the early books in the Krewe of Hunters series. I started looking for more Heather Graham books and this one caught my eye. Although it doesn’t have the paranormal aspect that the Krewe is based on, it has just as much evil and craziness. So, when Shadow of Death was available for review, making the request was a no-brainer.

In Shadow of Death, the stakes are getting even higher and it seems that the horsemen are getting even more daring – if that’s even possible. This installment took them out of Florida and took them to the caves and caverns in Colorado, which made it abundantly clear that the people responsible had a much farther reach than even Amy and Hunter expected.

The Reaper Follows is the next book in the series and I can’t wait to see where the author takes the series next.

While I have loved Graham's Krewe of Hunter's series I tend to not enjoy her books that focus on the same couple for multiple books so I had some reservations before picking this one up. I also had thoroughly enjoyed the first book but had only kind of liked the second book.

This book hit somewhere in between. While it wasn't quite as fast paced as the first book it didn't have the 2nd book syndrome of a whole lot of setup with very little payoff. The book starts off with Amy and Hunter on vacation when the 3rd horseman makes an appearance starting with the disappearance of a businesswoman in Colorado. As the mystery unravels it becomes more and more difficult to determine just who is good and who is bad and I really enjoyed being along for the ride.

This is definitely part of a series and unlike Graham's Krewe of Hunters books it really does need to be read in order. I really like seeing Amy and Hunter getting a bit more settled in their relationship. They trust each other's instincts and work well together. Hearing regularly how gorgeous Amy is gets a bit old and it is a bit dialogue heavy but overall this was an entertaining and creepy read.

I'ma fan of Heather Graham's work and this book it's another great addition I enjoyed seeing how Amy and Hunter worked hard to get closer to finding out who is running the cult because it seems like once a person is caught there's something even more deeper going on putting them in a loop of trying to figure out who is behind this cult case. There was just so much going on I had a hard time putting this book down. Such a great read highly recommend! Can't wait to see what happens next.

I did not enjoy this book as much as I enjoy the Krewe of Hunters series. I don't know if it was the characters or the story line but I had a hard time staying invested throughout the book. Maybe I need to try reading the first and second book in this Amy Larson & Hunter Forrest FBI series to get more accustomed to these characters.

There's a lot going on in this one...a few remarkable coincidences and a pair solving it that is also sleeping together (does this really happen?). Some good surprises at the end and I highly suspect a sequel!

It’s clever how Graham connects caves outside of Denver with the swamps of Florida’s Everglades. Cults have always interested me because I try to understand how they can be appealing to anyone or how they buy in to the message.
I couldn’t figure out who then villains were until they were revealed.
It’s a fast paced, packed full of action sort of book.

SHADOW OF DEATH is one frightening, dark, and evil read - and I could not put it down.

Someone out there wanted the Apocalypse. Or they were in it for power, money or both.


A mystery thriller on the Apocalypse loosely based on the book of Revelation. FDLE special agent Amy Larson and her partner, FBI special agent Hunter Forrest are working the case. The clues come in as the horseman in Revelation. The latest is the red Horse which signifies famine and death. The latest horse brings them to Colorado where a hiker has been missing. In fact they are told a significant amount of people of been missing in the Denver area. Larson and Forrest are partners in their personal lives as well and seem to work well together. That is part of the appeal. They compliment each other with the victims and perps.

With finding the hiker alive among dead bodies, they take each clue to discover a cult that preaches the end is coming with deadly consequences. There is a monologue of social justice with this so what ever political leaning you take, may appeal to you or not. In my opinion, it did nothing for the narration.

Will the their be an ending? Will they be closer to the truth? Will they know the who and why? There is a hook and the hook being, if you are the type that needs to know. So I am hooked.

Edge of your seat reading! So many twists and turns and unexpected things in this story that keep you guessing until the end. Hard book to put down. Interesting and intriguing characters in this book to follow as the mystery unfolds. Good read.

This was an amazing story. I didn't realize it was the third book in a series (don't worry you don't need to read the first two). This story is fast-paced and suspenseful. Hunter and Amy are a fabulous investigative duo. You want to be part of their team hunting down the Horsemen. Now I have to read the previous two books while I wait for the four. Well done!

DNF. The story is mostly dialogue in such a way I've never seen before, and it's incredibly awkward. There is no showing—it's all telling, literally.

This is the third installment of the Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse series. I have not the other books in the series, but the prologue helped span the gap between those and this one. Agent Amy Larsen and the FBI are called in to investigate quite a fre missing women. They find them deceased in a pit. This leads them to a cult which was introduced in the first book of this series. Turns out the cult leader is not the person in charge so they must dig deeper. Agent Larsen apprehends a couple of people, but they still arent the ones ultimately responsible for this crime. That's to be told in the next books of this series. This wasn't the best Heather Graham book I have read. I could be befcause I am not a fan of cult books, or that the ending did not come to a definite conclusion. However, it was fairly good. I would read the first 2 to see what transpired before this. Good book and series! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book but it is a sort of cliffhanger?! I guess more of a continuation?! But it was a great read! This book had suspense, intrigue, action, crazy murdering cult like people, A bit of a who done it and some great police and FBI work! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I highly recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading but remember it isn't over! Heather Graham is all about writing a series. This is the third and I have to say I really like this pair.

Shadow of Death is the third book in this series and as always with Ms. Graham's books, it's filled with good and evil, twists and turns, and great characters. If you haven't started the series, you might want to start with the first book, but I doubt you'd feel lost if you jumped in with the second or third book.

This book continues the story of the Amy Hunter (FDLE Special Agent) and Hunter Forrest (FBI) in their quest to solve the murders that are related to the horsemen of the apocalypse.

The setting is one I was familiar with and that really drove the story home further for me. Reading about the caves and hiking areas outside Denver felt like coming home and I realized how very easy it would be to utilize those caves for evil purposes.

Pick up this book or the entire series because it's going to keep you reading all night.
