Great story, how US Marshall rescues a bride on her wedding day from cartel hit men who are trying to deliver a message.

TALL, DARK, & CHEROKEE by Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy
This is a very well written addictive story that didn't let me put it down once I started it. While her wedding is happening immediately, Kaitlyn can't back out even while she wants to, since overhearing her fiance and realizing he's involved with the cartel. While walking down the aisle, she sees a man she doesn't recognize and when the bullets start flying he, Shane grabs her and makes a run for it. He is going to protect her with his life. Shane is a wonderful character. These 2 have great chemistry. I did feel like the story was a little rushed though. This is a 5 star read.

A fast-paced story that keeps your attention for the most part. A few odd spots in the story but not enough to stop reading. Good plot twists and a definite love story at heart.

I’m of the Nation, so I absolutely loved seeing our language and the Cherokee heritage throughout the story. The minute that Shane saw Caitlin in her wedding dress, he wanted her. Thankfully the sniper missed and they got away; except they were followed. Through Shane’s family, and some special help; these two were able to see if they had a future. But they did have to take care of the danger coming their way, will they be ready and live through it? Loved it

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for allowing me to read this book for free in exchange for an honest review! I loved this book. The quick love was a little unrealistic, but if you believe in love at first sight, then it’s right up your alley! I enjoyed how the author included Indian heritage into the story and how the ending played out perfectly! This is a great read!

I received an ARC for an honest review and the opinions expressed in this review are mine alone.

I will admit this book took me by surprise. It starts off with a bang and doesn't want to let you go until the very end. I will admit the lead female Kaitlyn got a little bit on my nerves at the beginning, but she slowly grew on me. Now, the male lead Shane Raincrow captured my heart from the beginning. This book was so full of love at first sight, twist and turns that I finished it in one day because I didn't want to put it down. This book will leave you speechless and will stay with you after you finish it. This is one book you don't want to miss!

This was such a fast pace story. While I liked the plot, I felt that the pacing was too fast – talk about insta-love. Shane and Kaitlin kind of defies anything traditional. First, Kaitlin is taken from the altar at her wedding and Shane is assigned to protect her. And then there is this looming issue that someone wants Kaitlin dead. Throughout the story, the whole build-up was around who wants her dead and why. Shane takes her to his home village for protection and while the interactions between the two seems natural enough and did generate some nice sparks, there was just too much build-up to a whole lot of nothing. I really did expect the face-off to be more. I think this had a lot of potential to be a good story but I felt that everything was just too fast.

Thank you netgalley and Evernight Publishing for allowing me to read this book. This is a quick exciting read. I enjoyed the unpredictable aspect of it and I love a good protector romance. I just didn’t feel a connection between the characters probably because I like slow burns and this was an insta love story.

3.5*
This turned out to be an enjoyable read. For the most part I liked the characters (more on this in a minute) and the story kept me reading.

Kaitlin annoyed me a little early on. I understand the extenuating circumstances (no family, just wanted to belong) but the fact that she was willing to marry a man she knew was taking and dealing drugs was hard to take. Especially when she doesn’t really care for him.

Once we’d passed this and moved into the story it was good.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

I love the romance it was hot it was spicy, didn’t want to stop reading it, I was so captivated with the story I couldn’t get to the end fast enough. And then when it was over I wished it did not end.
