Keep Her Secret Mark Edwards
I've read a lot of books written by Mark, and of his recent books, this has been my favourite. I seem to have a preference for his books set in the UK, although I loved the Iceland section, my heart was in my mouth!

Lots of twists to keep me guessing, and I enjoyed this book to the end.

A fast paced romantic read, rather than a thriller, from Mark Edwards. Starting in Iceland and moving to the south coast of England, it sets off at a fast pace and has a host of characters, with none being remotely likeable! It's a bit of escapism with murder, blackmail and unexpected twists along the way. Not my favourite by the author but a good read. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

I have been a follower of Mark Edwards ever since I got my Kindle in 2013 and read The Magpies and have enjoyed all his books since.

This is a well written, fast paced thriller from the very first page, with great characters and a brilliant ending. My heart was in my mouth all the way wondering how they were going to get away with this and oh my goodness just fantastic how it was all brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon Publishing for this great ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

I've been a fan of his work ever since my first experience back in 2019, and Keep Her Secret is already book number five I've read by this author. There is just something about the way Mark Edwards writes that is highly addictive, and I always seem to have an excellent time reading his books. I was intrigued by the sound of the blurb of this newest story, and I've been excited to pick it up... And I have to say that Keep Her Secret only exceeded expectations for me.

I confess that I was a tad worried this was too much of a slow-paced psychological/domestic thriller, because that type of book hasn't really worked for me recently... I shouldn't have doubted my instincts though, because Keep Her Secret was anything but slow. In fact, this story hit the ground running and I found myself unable to stop reading until I finally reached that last page... Sure, this is technically a psychological thriller and there is some domestic drama involved, but this story delivers so much more on the side. It's a fantastic mix of genres and elements, with a plot that had me on my edge of my seat until the very end.

I loved the chapters set in Iceland, where the surroundings were not only backdrop but played an active role in the plot. It shows that the author visited the country himself! I also liked Brighton as a backdrop, and again the location played an important role in certain aspects of the plot. The descriptions really made the different locations come alive, and I liked what they added to the story. The plot itself is well built up; the story is divided into parts and there are also POV switches to keep the tension and suspense up.

The story really takes off after Helena confesses her crime... While the identity of the blackmailer didn't come as a surprise, with the way the plot was structured and the suspense was built up I didn't really mind. Things soon started spiraling out of control, and I loved every minute of the ride as everything started to go from bad to worse. There were quite a few twists I didn't see coming, and there is no doubt that Keep Her Secret goes out with a bang.

Highly engaging, action-packed, suspenseful and simply fascinating: I had a fantastic time reading Keep Her Secret, and if you like your psychological thrillers on the fast and eventful side, I can highly recommend adding it to your wishlist.

Every time I am able to read a new Mark Edwards book, not only am I excited, but also very curious - his books are always very different from each other. I love this because they don't feel repetitive in any way for me. This book, as with all his others, did not disappoint! It was definitely a thriller and it is vying for the spot of my favorite book from him. It kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end, and I can't wait to see what he comes out with next!

Mathew and Helena 1st met at college over 20 years ago and were a couple for a while before going their separate ways. They recently got back together at a college reunion and after 1 date, head to Iceland together on a 2 week adventure.
On their last day their disaster almost hits as Helena falls from a cliff. As she thinks she’s going to die she tells Mathew it’s what she deserves for what she’s done. Later in their room as they recover from the shock of her near death experience she reveals her secret and what she meant by her confession. However someone else was listening and when they head home a series of events throws them together in ways they never expected and they both end up doing things they wouldn’t have thought they could do

How far would you go to save someone you think you might love? What would you do to keep them safe?

I have read and loved lots of Marks books and this was no exception, he has written in his usual style and his descriptions leave you feeling like you’re right there with the characters as they experience everything that is happening. It is at times far fetched, would you really behave that way if it was you in their shoes? I guess until it happens you will never know. I found myself desperately turning the pages to find out how it would end for the couple.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book

Highly recommend

I was so excited to read another Mark Edwards book and it didn't disappoint. They are always full of twists and turns, and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I always want to read his books with a cushion ready to hide behind!

When Matthew and Helena met again after 20 years apart they were amazed at how strongly they were still attracted to eachother. Almost immediately they planned a trip to Iceland with a group and we're enjoying the scenery and hikes when a photograph taken from the edge of the cliff results in Helena tumbling over. This horrifying accident leads to Helena making a terrible confession to Matthew - unfortunately this is overheard by someone else, leading to blackmail, deaths, and more twists and turns than you can shake a stick at!

Well researched, with the power to make you think 'what the......', Mark Edwards will have you feeling very uncomfortable, whilst not wanting to put the book down. Another triumph.

3.5 which I rounded up to 4.

Keep Her Secrets is fast paced read that starts out strong

Matthew hears Helena blurts out a life changing secret as she hangs dangerously from a rock edge.

It is amazing what people will do to protect their secrets.

Who is telling the truth and is there anything else that they are hiding.

At times you have to put disbelief aside but that also makes for some interesting suspense hold your breath moments.

Thanks to NetGalley and Amazon Publishing UK, Thomas & Mercer for a page turning read.

Well well well, mark has done it again!
I absolutely love having comfort authors you just know you’re going to enjoy every time you pick them up and of course Mark definitely is that for me!

This follows Helena & Matthew who after twenty years apart have rekindled their college romance and to celebrate have booked a trip to Iceland, whilst out there Helena finds herself in a freak accident where she almost loses her life and in doing so confesses a deep and dark secret to Matthew she didn’t want to take with her,
Upon returning back to the UK after their trip, they discover that someone overheard Helena’s confession and plan to use it as blackmail, they could just go to the police but in doing so would reveal Helena’s darkest secrets so Matthew is left deciding to protect his long lost flame or turn everything into the police

This was just juicy drama right from the beginning, Mark just has a way of writing such good characters in his thriller books where you are constantly second guessing if you should trust them or not.
This one was full of secrets and surprises that truly left my jaw on the floor at moments and it was just a really really enjoyable read for me.
Definitely look up trigger warnings if planning to read this one as it does have some heavy themes but overall it was another smashing book from mark.

This is his brand new novel which is out on May 30th so super soon and it’s currently free to pre order on kindle unlimited so absolutely get onto that, I highly recommend

As addictive and twisty as usual, Mark Edwards does it again. This is the story of a regular guy, a mostly good man, who gets deeper and deeper in trouble to protect a woman. The plot won’t be unusual to his readers but, as always, the novel is different from all the previous ones. Helena has a near death experience and confesses to a crime. Matthew decides to let it go, but someone overheard and, in his efforts to help her, he keeps digging a hole so deep that it’s hard to see how he’s ever going to fix it. Helena is smart and resourceful and she and Matthew balance each other out. Their interactions are believable, and their dialogues show the evolution of their relationship. There is the rekindled familiarity after many years apart, the growing affection, the horror, the mistrust… everything is showed perfectly. The setting is also well staged. I thought how the big house on the cliff sounded like Ruth Ware and I then found out in the afterword how she gave the idea to Edwards. The natural violence surrounding these characters is almost physical. Regarding the plot, saying anything more would be a spoiler so I won’t say more than it’s full of unexpected twists and I was completely blindsided by the ending.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, #NetGalley/#Amazon Publishing UK, Thomas & Mercer!

Thank you NetGalley and Amazon Publishing UK for an early copy of Keep Her Secret. Mark Edwards writes some sick books and this one did NOT disappoint!!!! What a plot and the characters were so likeable then unlikeable, I was so confused what I should be feeling for them. Crazy stuff happened and most of the chapters I was like WHAT?????? Can’t wait for his next psychological. Thank you again.

This is a heart in mouth thriller that has you hooked from the start. College sweethearts meet at a reunion 20 years after parting and immediately feel the connection again. An impromptu trip to see the Northern Lights sees an almost fatal accident which makes both of them aware of their fate.

Back home and a fellow holidaymaker arrives unannounced with information that she feels is blackmail worthy, how will the new couple cope with this and will it be too much?

Full of unexpected twists and a final one that came as a huge surprise this is a great book for thriller fans and another success for author Mark Edwards.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

OMG. This is going to be a bestseller for sure. This has to be one of Marks' best books yet. Wow. Omg. I'm in shock over that twist. The ending. It's such a cleverly written story. Face paced, thrilling, gripping. I was hooked. Did not expect the outcome at all, and it changed the whole story for me. I really enjoyed reading this one. It does have a little cliffhanger, which leaves it up to the reader to decide, but wow. Amazing. He's done it again. I'd love to write more about the story, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I urge you to go buy this. Pre-order. Find out for yourself. You will not be disappointed. A well-deserved five stars from me. Highly recommend.

Now I love this author and he is one of my favourite authors. This was a good read but it did not get my Heart pounding like his earlier work. Saying that I am sure other readers will enjoy it more just not for me. All in all a good read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.

Brilliant book. Felt like a throwback to Marks earlier thriller style. I loved the setting of being back in the UK as Marks previous few were set in USA.
I was able to predict a couple of outcomes but as a huge Agatha Christie fan I tend to look for the impossible solution as being the real one and got lucky.
Great characters even though I felt the main character was very naïve. He reminded me of a high schooler with a crush, willing to do anything for a pretty girl without giving the scenario much thought.

Helena and Matthew were college sweethearts. Twenty years later both now divorced they decide to rekindle their relationship by going on a holiday to Iceland. They go on a hiking trip witnessing the beautiful scenery. Taking photos wherever they go. But when Helena is near a cliff edge, she nearly has a fatal accident. Clinging for her life on an edge of a cliff she makes final confession, believing that she is going to die. This starts a catastrophe of events that will get them selves in all sorts of trouble, even death.
Thank you, Amazon, for a copy Keep her secret by Mark Edwards. Can you believe this is my first book read from the author and I can’t wait to read more. This is a fast-paced thriller and a highly entertaining read, and the action and suspense kept on coming, even though at times I felt it was a bit over the top but I did really enjoy this never the less and the storyline I found quite a unique way. This also had an ending you didn’t see coming. 5 stars from me.

This was a gripping book but such a far fetched story. There is no way they got away with all those murders! And a true narcissist would not have accepted that his wife was with someone else so calmly. Saying that, I actually enjoyed whizzing through it!

Matthew and Helena had a college romance, now twenty years later they are back together and on holiday in Iceland. Whilst out hiking Helena insists on getting the perfect photo and ends up hanging from the cliff edge, fearing she won't survive she makes a shocking confession to Matthew, but what did she confess to and how will he feel once he hears the full story? Once back in England life returns to some normality until the knock on Helena's door changes everything, someone overheard her confession and is here to blackmail her, what will Matthew do?

Keep Her Secret is told in three parts and from Matthew's perspective, it's a fast paced read with some very likeable characters and some not so. The story unfolds in Iceland but then returns to England where Helena and Matthew are taken on a rollercoaster of horrific events and can't find the brake to stop the ride and get off. Everything they do just drops them deeper into a nightmare that seems to be never ending. It's a tale of many twists and turns which, at times, appeared to be a bit over the top but this, in my opinion, added to the thrill of it all, especially as it ends on a cliffhanger (no pun intended). I loved everything about this story, which is Edwards at his finest, and I was up way past my bedtime to finish it at 2am.

I'd like to thank the author, Amazon Publishing and Netgalley for inviting me to read this, I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day.

Keep Her Secret by Mark Edwards

After twenty years apart, Matthew and Helena have rekindled their college romance and are away in Iceland on their first holiday together. Swept up in the romance on a mountain hike, one moment they are taking the perfect photo, the next Helena is hanging from the cliff edge.
Wow ! Such an edge of your seat read - brilliant.
Love , love , love all books by Mark Edwards and this one could quite possibly be his best yet.
Really enjoyed getting behind the relationship dynamics between Matthew and Helena and reading how they got to where they are.
