I had a lot of hopes for this book. I love the trope of brother's best friend, and this book delivered, even in its roundabout way. Ensley James is a bridesmaid in her best friend's wedding, and she runs into her childhood crush, and older brother's previous best friend, Drew Daniels. The summary brings up the three date bet, seeing as Dr Drew Daniels only has one-night stands. This didn't come up until I was about halfway through the book. It also doesn't play as big a part of the plot as the summary suggests.

I liked this book, and the characters were interesting enough to follow. I felt like there could have been a few more memories of when the two were kids.

Drew and Ensley are amazing. Ensley has always had a crush on Drew Daniels, her brothers best friend growing up. Fast forward and they are both in the same wedding party. Ensley ends up getting kicked out before the wedding and Drew walks out with her. Getting stuck in a rain storm in a shed. When she cant get Drew out of her mind she decides to go to Atlanta to stay with her sister for a couple days. While there she helps Drew at his Vet clinic and the fun begins. This book has so much laughter in it. From getting stuck in trees to a wedding with 7 dogs as guests. You wont find a dull moment in it. Seriously amazing and makes you want a Drew of your own.

What a fun read. I love a grumpy-sunshine trope and this didn't disappoint.
Ensley is such a vibrant, fun character with childhood fears steering her behaviour in a realistic was. As does Drew, even if he wont be honest about it.
I didn't get the feel of Ensley and Ronnie being BFFs as Ensley seemed to have a better relationship with her sisters. Maybe if we'd gotten a bit of pre-wedding prologue, we might have felt their friendship better.
And who doesn't love a cute cat co-star?
I received a copy via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

While sticking up for her best friend and bride against a horrible step mother, not even being maid of honor prevents Ensley from getting thrown out of her friend's wedding. In the meantime, her brother's former friend and her longtime crush, Drew, ends up thrown out with her, they discover some long pent up chemistry -- but also that Drew only does one night stands.
In a weird twist of timing, Ensley visits her sister and pops in on Drew and his veterinary practice at a moment when he's flailing. He hires her to help while she talks him into 3 dates. Will that be all it takes to turn her longtime crush into something more?

The second book of my Spring Reads session took me back to the world of bumbling adults. Knight's romcom bonafides keep growing with fun, light stories like this one. Pick up a coy for that pool side entertainment.

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for providing an eARC for a honest review.

Very cute and funny Rom Com! 4.5 stars round up to 5 stars.

Ensley James is sweet and kind. Drew Daniels is moody and growls at people. Ensley and Drew grew up together. Ensley has always had a crush on Drew. They reunite at their best friends wedding. The stepmother walks in to check on the bride, she is wearing a gown that looks like a wedding gown and the bride is furious. Ensley is feisty and does not want to upset the bride who is her best friend. Ensley wants to fixes it and accidentally spills red wine on the stepmothers dress. OOPS! Ensley gets thrown out of the wedding and Drew goes with her. They get stuck in a storm and end up in a shed for two during the whole wedding and reception.

While in this cozy shed Drew confesses to Ensley that he's strictly a one-nighter guy. Ensley dares him to give her three date nights and see where it goes. Does Drew take the dare????

It is such great pleasure to read a light and funny romantic comedy that is really good!! It is not cheesy. Very well written. Ensley is adorable. Highly recommend this read! Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!

This book wasn’t for me just couldn’t get into the story and didn’t really enjoy either of the main characters. Both main characters were hard to connect with seemed very immature especially the FMC. The situations they were in just seemed too far fetched and a little ridiculous. It did have a few cute moments but almost every issue could have easily been solved or avoided with a little communication. It wasn’t written badly just not for me I want to thank NetGalley and Montlake for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I have read by JJ Knight - it definitely sucked me in and made me curious about other books she has written!

Ensley is rocking out her bridesmaids duties to the max when she upsets (rightfully so) her best friend’s crazy stepmother and finds herself tossed out of the country club wedding. Drew is inadvertently tossed out with her, and the two find themselves taking shelter from a rain storm in a storage shed. Ensley and Drew have known each other since they were kids; Drew was friends with her older brother, and Ensley had a giant crush on him. While waiting out the storm, the two nearly hookup, and Drew is clear that there won’t be a second time. See, Drew only goes out on first dates to avoid commitment.

However, Ensley finds a way to strike up a friendship with Drew, despite his attempts to metaphorically leave her behind in the storage room. When Ensley finds herself helping Drew with his veterinary practice, she drops a challenge on him; take her on three dates to prove it’s just as easy to step away after three dates. Obvious spoiler alert - it’s not so easy to step away after three dates.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 - I loved the story. Drew and Ensley are adorable and their chemistry is 🔥. There are some plot holes however; but something tells me I’m missing books that are interrelated to this one. I really would have like to have seen the friend’s crazy stepmother get some karma after throwing them out of the wedding at the beginning! Overall a fun read, I cranked through it in a day!

This was fun, quick read that I finished within a day. The banter between the two leads was funny and there were times where I laughed out loud. Was very enjoyable, didn’t have to think too much about the book, was easy to get through. Would recommend and would read the author again!

I really wanted to like this book, but Drew really grated on my nerves. The main conflict that arises towards the end of the book was entirely avoidable through regular communication and not railroading over Ensley, but it became such a massive deal. I also didn't like how grumpy he was -- I think there's a certain appeal for a grumpy hero, but he seemed to border on rude and offensive and that took away from the story for me. With a little more careful character crafting, I think this book could have been a great read. It was just hard to get through when the hero grated on me so much.

The Wedding Confession is immensely enjoyable and the perfect combo of heat and heart. Keep your eye out for the pickle in the hilarious omelet-making scene!

What a roller coaster this was!
I enjoyed the backstory and how it all was linked right throughout the story. I’m a huge animal lover so I loved that Dr Drew had his own vet clinic. What a steamy little minx he is!
Can’t go wrong with grumpy/sunshine trope either, I always enjoy the secret thoughts they have in the dual POVs!
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I thank everyone involved that I was given the opportunity to read the ARC

Such a fun read and I just couldn't put it down, a sign of a really great book.
I thought it was fun and I just had to know what was going to happen on the next page

This was my first book by the author and I’ve seen that she has quite a few out there.
The story started great with interesting characters and a plot that kept me engaged throughout. The challenge for a 3 dates instead of a one night stand was interesting to see how it evolved into something more. The characters are hilarious and also enjoyed having dual pov because I always want to read about both sides of the story not just the female part as it happens usually.
It’s an entertaining book overall, an easy to read romance that many readers will enjoy

The first few pages were riveting. Ensley did what we all want to do - respond to an infuriating situation with all the attitude that it deserves. Naturally, that response gets her all kinds of consequence, which leads to Drew being her hero.

Herein lies one puzzle. The Drew at the beginning of this book is not the Drew that follows. I really liked this Drew; the other Drew had to grow on me. Then there was a puzzle (just one example) with the lovely, impetuous Ensley- yet she was so cautious that she thoughtfully does not quit her job (an important plot element). This is just one small example.

I liked the book but I felt like the characters were inconsistent with how I expected them to behave based on prior behaviors or descriptions. That’s ok, it keeps a fresh. This is a solid 4 stars. I recommend!

(3.5 stars) This was a fun and quick read! I loved the tension between Ensley and Drew and I'm a sucker for a friends to lovers, second chance at love story. I also loved the setting mostly taking place at Drew's veterinary clinic. The encounters with pet parents and finicky pets made for lots of funny moments throughout the book. This had just the right amount of "will they-won't they?" and spicy moments.

This book was a whimsical twist on the typical grumpy & sunshine trope. Ensley James is the sunshine, but a lot of that is due to the positivity classes her bestie Ronnie made her participate in prior to Ronnie's wedding. At Ronnie's wedding, a run-in with the bride's evil stepmother leads to Ensley being holed up in a shed in the rain with Drew Daniels, her older brother's childhood best friend. Drew, a successful veterinarian, isn't much of a talker, but their years of history lead them to a heated romantic situation.

As the female lead, Ensley is pretty likeable. She's funny and realistic in a lot of ways. Drew, however, was pretty unlikeable and was generally all over the place, jumping from being a growly jerk to somehow super articulate and romantic. Perhaps if the book was longer the author would have been able to better flesh out the nuances of his character.

Overall, this was a decent short read. It had a few LOL moments and some decent steam.

I didn't love this book. Everything felt too forced and rushed and I just didn't relate to the characters at all. I ended up giving in about half way through and just skim read the rest of the book.

I'd be interested to read a book about Lila in the future, though.

I loved Ensley’s character and eclectic style. Her love for her sisters and determination to do whatever to take care of them was so admirable. Drew owns a veterinary clinic so I loved that aspect, since I am a dog mama and love all animals. The tension between Drew and Ensley was perfect and the ending really honored how they’ve felt about each other since childhood.
