Oh yea!! I always look forward to reading Torre's books and this one did not disappoint!! It was one big, chaotic, jumble of mystery and murder. The story was told in multiple POVs. And when I say multiple, I mean A LOT! I admit to being a little confused at first with all of the different characters, but everyone became clear to me rather quickly. Torre has one of my favorite writing styles in the thriller genre and her words just flow seamlessly without all the nonsense or fluff. I love that about her. And this book was a very fast read. I flew through the pages on my Kindle, desperate to figure out what in the heck was going on! I was slightly disappointed with the ending, which is the reason for subtracting a star from my review. It was somewhat predictable, and I just didn't like it. I do not want to give away any spoilers, but there was something very technical in the story that I feel could have wrapped this book up even better than the written ending. Just my opinion though. Please feel free to DM me if you want to know my reasoning. I think most of Torre's fans are going to enjoy this one. And if you are new to the author, I highly recommend you read this as well as all of her other books!! You can thank me later! And A.R. Torre...hurry up and write your next book!!!

Thank you to the author, Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for allowing me free access to this eARC in exchange for my honest review!!

OH THANK GOD! Torre has been one of my absolute favorite thriller authors but last year’s release was a complete dud for me so i am sticking to the theory that she wrote the entire thing drunk, because this is a huge bounce back.
this is more in the vein of The Good Lie, where we follow multiple seemingly random POVs until the connections click into place one by one. this was so fast paced, and Torre really knows how to write a captivatingly bingeable mystery - i flew through this in one night. I’m also a sucker for Hollywood stories so this one was already right up my alley. the only thing keeping it from being a 5-star read for me was that it uses a certain trope that i feel like ALWAYS ends up the same way anytime it’s used in a thriller, which made the ending a bit annoying for me but i do think it was used a smarter way than usual.

If I’d gone into this one without knowledge of the author, I’d have never guessed this was Torre’s book.
Having read & enjoyed most of her novels, I found the writing style completely different than what I’m used to from her & if I’m honest, it felt more like a debut, rather than work from a seasoned writer.
I felt no connection, no sympathy, & little interest in regards to this “cast” of characters.
However, it could be me, coming off of a month-long reading challenge, having read fortyleven books in January…🥴 So maybe I’m just discombobulated…
Idk. But this one left me wanting & slightly perplexed..

But mucho appreciation to NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for the copy of A Fatal Affair by A. R. Torre. Hollywood bad boy Trent is found dead on his heartthrob twin brother Hugh’s property. I’m not really a huge movie fan, but I do like Hollywood stories and gossip and this book was fun. There were different POVs and at first I had no idea who some of them were and how they fit in, but it became clear as the story went on. This book became a wild ride, so wild that even though I had my suspicions, I still had a hard time wrapping my brain about what I was finding out! If you’re looking for lots of twists coupled with stellar writing, this is the book for you. You won’t be able to put it down, so be ready for a long, enjoyable book session. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

What a wild ride of a Hollywood suspense where a beloved Hollywood couple get caught in an apparent murder-suicide in their own home with a twin of the husband/fiancé.

I was honestly having a bit of trouble keeping track of each narrative, but the scenes were designed beautifully & I'm actually reading another novel of theirs while I finished this!

A good novel of whether deception is worth danger, and thank you to Netgalley & Thomas & Mercer for this Read Now ARC

This was my first A. R. Torre book and I loved it.

Popular identical twin actors Hugh & Trent Iverson both love the same woman, Nora Kemp. When Trent and a mystery woman are found dead on the property, it’s up to detectives to figure out what happened. Who is this woman? Is this just another murder-suicide? What other secrets could this family be hiding?

I had some unanswered questions at the end but still enjoyed this book overall. It’s filled with twists and keeps you engaged.

Thank you to Thomas & Mercer for my ARC copy.

this works great in a Hollywood suspense novel, it does what I was hoping for from the description. I really was invested in what happened and thought it worked well as a suspenseful novel. The characters were what I expected and am glad I read this.

"He turned from the tall window, and she was reassured by the sight—he looked calm and in control, his dark-green irises studying her from under furrowed brows. His shock of short jet-black hair was wet from a shower and pushed away from his strong features. The twins had an Italian and Swiss heritage and had inherited their parents’ glowing olive skin and stunning bone structure, along with their fame. He cleared his throat. “Do they know who the woman is?”

This is the first time I read a thriller by this author. It was an unpredictable, fast moving story. There were a few unexpected twists that kept me engaged.

I had a few questions regarding plot points but they didn't detract from my enjoyment.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and the author for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC This is my honest review.

I read this in one sitting because I absolutely had to know what was going to happen. I have always been a fan of AR Torre’s writing but this one might be my favorite so far. It is fast paced, has plenty of twists, interesting characters and a lot of moving pieces.

The story follows a few different POVs but it opens with a murder of the twin of a famous actor and an unknown woman. As police start to circle with the investigation the remaining twin, Hugh, and his fiancée, Nora, realize that they have plenty of secrets they never want revealed to the world.

There are some plot holes that had me scratching my head - like how was this the first time a kid got involved? Why did Nora mention the cabin? And more but I don’t want to give too many spoilers. But honestly, it didn’t take away too from my enjoyment of blazing through this book so 4 stars for this one.

Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review
