What a delightful story of Jess and how she starts again with her daughter Lola after her marriage breaks down. She finds herself taking over her grandads holiday home complete with run down barn. and finds herself learning new skills as she brings the holiday home and derelict barn back to life with the help of handy man Riley.
I loved the way Jess copes with everyday problems along with her friends and family as they all pull together to help to get the business up and running. Strong characters all with their own unique way.
A real feel good story and highly recommended.
Thanks to NetGalley & Aria & Aries for a ARC and a honest review.

Nice gentle read, set with a backdrop of the beautiful Cornwall coast. You were willing everyone to have a happy ending and find what makes them happy after the sadness of loss. Definitely a good holiday read.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Following her divorce and the loss of a loved one, Jess, along with her daughter is beginning afresh in the house where her Grandparents lived.

She’s wanting to bring the old buildings up to date and hopefully make a life for them both.

I recommend this book.

A fun lighthearted read from Linn B Halton. Jess and her daughter leave Gloucestershire and head to Cornwall to do up Jess’s Grandparents Farmhouse. As a single parent she finds new friends along the way. A little bit predictable but then who doesn’t like and enjoy cheese at times. Thanks to Linn and her publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley.

After divorce and bereavement, Jess is starting over in her Grandparents old house, working to renovate a number of old buildings and make a new life for her and her daughter. The helpful delivery man from the builder's merchants turns up at just the right time.

I loved this book. The characters are well written, the story is captivating. I could do with a map, as I got a little lost about where buildings were in relation to each other.

I'm so glad this is a series, I can't wait to find out what happens at Renweneth Manor next.

I received this book from Netgalley.

I really enjoy books like this and normally I find them quick to read so I was excited for this one. I found this book to be a bit slow going. Almost halfway through the book I felt like not too much had happened. There were a lot of characters but most of them just made pop up appearances which did make it easier to follow.

I'm confused as to why Jess feels that she has to do so much work. She's worried that Riley will feel like she's not pulling her weight, but she is paying him. He's literally there to do a job.

While I am a visual reader, I did find it a bit difficult to visualise all of the buildings in this book. There were just so many, and it was difficult to picture what they all looked like and where they were on the property.

The second half of the book definitely read faster than the first. More things started happening and Jess and Riley started exploring their feelings for each other a bit more which added extra interest.

There were one or two minor inconsistencies/typos in the story but they didn't detract from the story itself.

I am a bit disappointed that we don't get to see Riley and Jess being a couple out in the open. I feel like there could have been less about the renovating and then we could have had more of them together openly as a couple.

Overall, a nice, sweet romance

Another excellent read by Linn!
Linn creates a world that you are lost in once you start turning pages. Jess and Lola are creating a new life after a family breakup, and I loved the intricate details of house renovations wound around Jess rebuilding her confidence and starting over, with the hint of a new relationship to come. Couldn’t put it down.

An uplifting romance. After Jess's marriage breaks down, she, with her daughter Lola, takes over the farmhouse in Cornwall. Jess meets Riley after he delivers building material, and together, they renovate the farmhouse.
A light summer read. This was easy to fall into. It's the kind of place I could imagine myself in.
The characters were all likeable (except maybe Jess's ex-husband) I particularly liked Cappy.
Thanks to Netgalley and Aria and Aries for the ARC in return for an honest review.

The first book in a three part series, Summer at the Cornish Farmhouse sees newly divorced Jess moving to Cornwall with daughter Lola. They've taken on the renovation project Jess' grandparents initiated - has Jess bitten off more than she can chew, or will local handyman Riley be able to help her see her dreams through to fruition?

A sweet, gentle story, clearly making way for more to come. I really loved the character of Cappy, and I definitely think there is more to come from Jess' best friend Ivy and husband Adam. One slight irritation was the author's constant use of character names in conversations- no one says the name of the person they're speaking to in every other sentence in real life, and it did begin to really irriate me! I'll definitely be looking out for the next book, it left me wanting to know what happens next!

I don't know what it was about "Summer at the Cornish Farmhouse" but I didn't find it totally engaging as a novel. In some ways it was more like someone's diary and had rather a lot of technical detail which didn't really add to the narrative for me. Jess is a very driven character and has some great family and friends but there wasn't really much jeopardy as just about everything went well, with only a few minor hiccups.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.

This book was fun in a lighthearted, comforting way...while there is conflict in the story, it is obvious that things will all work out in the end. The best part of this book to me is its backdrop in the beautiful countryside, renovating a lovely cottage. It gives you a taste of HGTV/home improvement vibes with a bit of romance, all rolled up in a bit of women's empowerment, independence, and single parenting. It is not the most gripping or moving title I've ever read, but it is light and fun, and I would certainly recommend it for lighthearted summer beach reading or a little mental break from heavier reading.

A brand new series by author Linn B. Halton set in a Cornish Farmhouse. I’ve read quite a few books this year set in beautiful Cornwall and was absolutely delighted with this book the first I’ve read by this author.

Jess Newman is married to the love of her life Ben and thought they’d be together forever. So when Ben falls out of love with her, Jess doesn’t know how to come to terms with their divorce.

Jess’s granddad, Gabe, hands the keys to his holiday home in Cornwall, a beautiful but rundown farmhouse, to Jess and her eight year old daughter, Lola, to give them a fresh start.

Jess begins to renovate the outbuildings and campsites to expand the camping and holiday cottage business she has started, but her main goal is to restore Renweneth Manor, an old house and garden on their land.

Jess meets Riley, a man of all trades who offers to help her with renovations on the farm. The relationship between them is a sweet slow burn romance.

This is a heartwarming story, with great characters and a truly lovely setting. Thank you to Netgalley, Aria and the author for the arc I received. All opinions are my own. Highly recommended and looking forward to reading more books by the author.

Jess and her daughter Lola are starting over. They’re in the process of redoing her grandparents old farmhouse area.
She enlists the help of Riley to help with the out buildings.
All too soon they have a sweet romance starting.
This was a nice feel good story. I did think at times it became a little wordy and there was a lot going on their heads. The still enjoyed it and think others will too
