A gentle romance based in a beautiful coastal setting. A real adult look at divorce and the impact on the children as well as both parents. Such a good flow to this book as futures are forged and new ideas tested out. The confidence that grows in the book in both Jess and Riley is palpable.

I have read quite a few of this author's books now and have loved each one, I adore her light-hearted easy-to-read writing style and her tender and wholesome stories, you really can't get any better from the genre then reading a Linn B. Halton book!

Summer at the Cornish farmhouse is an absolute delight, it's charming, heart-warming, full of warmth and lots and lots of heart, i loved it, it has easily become my favourite of Linn's books (to date).

This is a proper second chance story of a woman after her diverse moves to Cornwall with her grandfather, hoping for a new life with her daughter and a chance to move past the heartache. She has no intention of love or romance, and she isn't searching for another beau - which are really the best stories aren't they when love just appears when you least expect it"!

This is when Riley walks in, a man of all trades who offers to help her and her grandfather with renovations on the farm. I loved the relationship between them, it's a slow-burner and I wondered if they would ever even make it as the romance is so subtly and beautifully written but I do see more for this couple in the future,, maybe a sequel? or a series?

Overall this is utterly charming!

Linn’s novels are both class- delightful to read. Jess’s life turns upside down and she finds it hard to accept that her marriage is over. Whatever Jess plans to do the main decider is to protect and nurture her daughter Lola. Warm, touching and romantic, Jess realises the importance of friendship and local community

When Jess' husband leaves her for another woman she is devastated, so when her grandfather offers her the chance of a new life in his Cornish farmhouse she and her eight year old daughter Lola jump at the chance.

Jess is determined to restore the farmhouse and surrounding farmyard outbuildings and barns to expand the fledgling camping and holiday cottage business she has started, but her long-term goal has to be restoring Renweneth Manor, the derelict old house and gardens sitting on their land.

Jess has done most of the renovations herself, with some assistance from specialists like electricians, but when all round handyman and builder Riley offers to give Jess two days a week of his time she can really get going with the renovations.

This was pleasant enough, but there was no conflict, no drama, even the romance was low-key, and as a result when I got to the end I felt a little as though nothing had happened. Or maybe that this is the first chapter in a series? Anyway, a gentle romance where no-one is ever mean or unkind might just be your cup of tea on a bad day.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I thought this looked like a fun book to read.

This was a sweet, feel-good book set in Cornwall. It was a lovely, light-hearted read. I think it is the kind of book that I would pick up when I feel like a different kind of escape. The type of book that I will enjoy once and then pass on to someone else to enjoy, because reading it might cheer them up too.

Summer at the Cornish Farmhouse , a warm, busy story of Jess and her 8 year old starting life afresh after Jess's divorce.

It is a story of second chances and starting a new chapter in life for most of the characters on a sleepy, forgotten Farmhouse which is coming alive in all possible ways. I quite enjoyed the hustle bustle, budding friendships and romances .

This was a delightful read and a fun escape to the English countryside of Cornwall!

Surprised by her husband’s announcement that their marriage is over, Jess escapes with her daughter, Lola, to the comfort of her grandparent’s farm of her youth. Jess and Lola slowly restart their lives with new friendships, multiple challenges and fresh air at the rundown farm.

As Jess rehabs the farm’s buildings with the help of Riley, a local Mr. Fix-It, she also rehabs her life.
It is not the turn of events that are surprising, but Jess’ reaction to them as her character matures and learns how to react to them.

This was a fun and easy to read story with likable characters that leave you looking forward to a sequel! My first, but not my last escape with Linn B. Halton!
