This is a great story about what it means to love. The connection to how her parents love her and what she can do to show love to her friends is a great kid friendly explanation. It discusses the point that sometimes others don't show us love, but we need to still show it to others.

This was a very sweet & meaningful lesson about love and kindness for those young, impressionable years.

I Love You More Than Cereal centres around young Maeva and her dad as they redefine what love means. Maeva's dad teaches her that love is not just how you feel but also how you act. Using easy-to-follow concepts like riding a bike with friends and accidentally spilling milk, Maeva learns that love is in forgiveness, sharing, and patience, not just happiness and warmth.

What can often feel forced and contrived is spectacularly delivered in this adorable book paired with bright and whimsical illustrations showing Maeva's thoughts. Both Maeva's vibrant personality and her dad's gentle kindness radiate off the page, as does the powerful message that love is all in the way you treat people.

Justin and Alexis Black promote healthy relationships, sensitivity and understanding through this sweet conversation between father and child in a relatable and engaging way for young children to understand.

Children and their adults will be sure to enjoy Maeva's uplifting story and have their own conversations about what love means to them and how they show it to those around them.

I Love You More Than Cereal is part of a series, and I will definitely be seeking out the next book.

Maeva is a happy little girl who just got a shiny new purple bike. She is planning on making her friends eat her bike dust. Daddy talks to her about love of other people like she loves her bike. I think this is a great book about treating others as you would like to be treated. The illustrations are colorful and vibrant. This is a good story book or bedtime story.

This is my new favorite book! The explanations on love are perfect! The author really shows truly what love is. How to show it, how to give it. I cannot recommend this book enough!

This title is a pretty strong statement; I mean, there are some top-tier cereals out there, and to say you love someone more than that is a big deal. Needless to say, I had to read this book.

I Love You More Than Cereal is a book that reconsiders what love is and how it looks and feels to others. in a child-appropriate way. When the main character gets a new bike, she's thrilled to take it out and show it off. But her motivations aren't quite where they should be, and a conversation with her dad helps her understand things better. Instead of showing off, she's able to talk about what makes her feel loved and how she can share that with the people she cares about most. In the end, she understands it's not only about feeling love, but also about matching your actions as well.

I love the dedication of this book, which really sets the tone that the book intends to help children understand that they should define what love means to them rather than letting society dictate that. This is brought to life in the conversation, which borrows from the bible verse 1 Corinthians 13. I appreciated that while the basis of the conversation is in this verse, it's not blatant unless you're already familiar.

The illustrations are digital illustrations and are quirky and bright. They fit well with the overall character of the book.

Overall, I enjoyed I Love You More Than Cereal, and would definitely add this to a child's library.

What a cute and heartfelt little book about love! It is really well written, and the text is thought-provoking and a great conversation starter with younger children. Probably having more pictures would keep the child more interested and engaged while reading the book together with an adult. The drawings in the book are large, clear, and not too detailed, and easy to understand how each drawing is linked to the text.

What an absolutely adorable story! Maeva learns about feeling love and showing love to others. It reminds me of the bible verse that tells us love is patient and love is kind.

Thank you to the authors and publisher for the e-ARC via NetGalley.

I read this story to my daughter, and while she’s a little young to really understand the message, she did enjoy the beautiful artwork. I thought the message was very nice and easy for young children to follow. I will certainly read this to her again! And like my daughter, I also loved the art style.
